Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

And am I one of the few people sick and tired of live action OT TV shows? For fucks sake do something else.
The Acolyte from Harvey Weinstein’s former assistant Leslye Headland is set 100 years before The Phantom Menace.

Speaking of which, I thought that there was no source material Kathy.

Star Wars: The Acolyte to Be Heavily Inspired by Legends Stories

The upcoming TV series Star Wars: The Acolyte will be taking place roughly 100 years before the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, a period that has been covered in a variety of books and comics in recent years, but showrunner Leslye Headland will reportedly be drawing from elements of the Star Wars Expanded Universe as inspiration. The SWEU was rebranded as the "Legends" corner of the franchise when Disney purchased Lucasfilm, confirming these adventures weren't part of the official canon, though various elements from the world of Legends have been embraced into the official canon across a number of mediums. Star Wars: The Acolyte does not yet have a release date.

"She is a gigantic Star Wars fan," Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy shared with Vanity Fair. "What's wonderful about Leslye is she knows it all. I mean, she's read a gazillion books inside the E.U. There are little bits and pieces that she's drawing from that no one has explored yet in the onscreen storytelling."

The outlet also pointed out that Headland "is drawing extensively from what's known as the Expanded Universe, or 'the E.U.,' which is the plethora of books, games, and comics that are now considered unofficial 'legends' instead of narrative canon. When The Acolyte debuts, lovers of those stories may be relieved to see aspects of them become real once again."

While a variety of Star Wars stories are attempting to find ways to connect to well-known and beloved corners of the galaxy far, far away, Headland noted that she was always much more interested in the worlds of the franchise without necessarily inserting herself into those iconic journeys.

"The truth is that I, as a major mega fan, came to them with this idea. And I said, 'I think the best place to put this is in an era you guys have not quite explored yet,'" Headland revealed. "They were very enthusiastic. It wasn't that they didn't want to explore that [existing] world, but I think that they already were because The Mandalorian and a lot of the other television projects were really relying on legacy characters."

She continued, "I was coming at it as a fan who was much more into the RPG that the Extended Universe feeds on. I came hard at that in the '90s, and then got introduced to [Star Wars:] The Clone Wars. I knew the timeline really well. And I was like, 'I think if you want to explore Star Wars from the perspective of the bad guys, the best time to do it is when the bad guys are wildly outnumbered. When they actually are essentially the underdogs, for lack of a better term.' So this would be that era."

Stay tuned for details on Star Wars: The Acolyte.

Yep. If Grogu had accepted to abandon Mando to continue his Jedi journey, Luke would have given him Yoda's lightsaber but instead he picked the beskar chainmail.
Yes, an object that emits a beam of plasma that melts anything it touches. Good job, Luke!

They have finally released a trailer for Caspian Border or whatever the lispy spic's name was from Rogue One. It's another #Resist story with cheap Imperial costumes and weapon props.

When I showed this to a friend I have who's a bit of a /k/ sperg, he lost his shit and laughed for several minutes. He called it a toy and pointed out that removing the stock of the toy AK they made would destroy the ability to use it.

Thats both because series dont have the same budget movies do and because, and this may be speculating on my part but, I dont think Disney has that much hope for SW anymore.
I feel like they have deep down accepted it after The Rise of Skywalker and Solo underperformed that SW would never be a flop maker but they have obviously killed the golden goose. Thats why they are doing these series and saying that SW's place is on Disney + and serialization. Its low risk shit.

Disney will never outright and say it but they have legit lost money on the long term with this franchise. If they had the power of hindsight, I legit dont think they would have bothered.

But what is done is done and Disney knows they cant just shelve this franchise (to do so would be very finantially disadvantageous) so they are trying a similar tactic from the MCU with SW and see what will happen. If it doesnt work, oh well, not a big loss, if it does work, they will smile and wave at the camera like they own the place.

They are mostly doing what they see as popular, thus why we are getting stuff like Boba Fett, Kenobi and Ahsoka. They know that people like these characters so you bet they will milk them for what they are worth.

Thats why they are doing a Rogue One prequel series with blando mc white lead with the cool robot companion. He is no Han Solo, guys...the blind guy would have been a better option. But yes, they know Rogue One was argurably the "best" of their movies in the long run, thus they are going to milk it too.

Dont be fooled and think this is anything but desperation over what to do with a brand that they had no right of ever owning.
My X to doubt on Disney having made a single cent in profit off Star Wars yet is big enough to crucify a rancor on

The problem with some franchises like Star Wars is that the first couple of installments suggest this vast unseen world of endless potential & then by the next installment it's obvious all that suggestive background detail was just for style & there's only a couple stories the authors had in mind for it.

Not that there's anything wrong with this but the concept of "world building" isn't to base future stories around background details or continually reference them. This is why the #1 reboot/prequel/sequel/"side-quel"/soft-reboot cliché of any media franchise is to try to make more content by telling the "origin story" of some throwaway character.

Where are all the aliens? Every single character in that trailer is just another bland diverse human.
Having aliens doesn't make the #Resist message more clear for the smooth brains.

I can't believe that will all the Star Wars guns that are from the movies, even the shitty TV shows, they are just blatantly using real ones. Fucking shameless. Fuck all shills for this piece of shit.

What the fuck is with Disney and their portrayal of the Empire as space colonists? The original analogy of the Republic becoming the Empire was very clearly Rome inspired, with the Empire's territory pretty much being what they already had as the Republic. I guess going off of that would mean too much politics instead of something simple and easy like Empire = colonizers, Rebels = natives.

Star Wars consoomers could have their legs personally broken by Bob Chapek and their house torched, but they will still cheer if given an early look at any product they must CONSOOOM.

The girlfriend wanted to watch Obi-Wan Kenobi and I can see why they wanted to restart the narrative of Star Wars fans being racist because Moses Ingram's acting is terrible.

So far it's lined up exactly with the MakingStarWars leaks with Leia being kidnapped and Bail Organa contacting Obi-Wan to go rescue her.

Because everything is "WHITE MAN BAD" and (((DISNEY))) has been a big pusher of that shit before they ruined Star Wars. That's all of (((Hollywood))). Look at how in the new Batman movie Catwoman says people killed by the Riddler had it coming for being "white privileged assholes". Get ready for lines like that in Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, etc. Hell, look at who the bad guy was in Avatar.
Can't wait for a White human in SW to say something like this in one of their shitty shows. lol
The Obi Wan Kenobi intro leaked.

Star Wars fans get collective short term memory loss every time a new trailer for ANYTHING SW related comes out like they didn't just get shit on by Lucasfilm consistently for 10 years. Bonus points if it's got Darth Vader in it.
