Unless you spend your entire life in Orange County, the Los Angeles area looks and acts just like a South American shithole. Isolated pockets of normalcy surrounded by a sea of seething gangland brutality.

Outside of the border region, and this is due to the drug cartel war that the US is actively funding, Mexico isn't a shithole. It's like the 14th largest economy in the world.

If you put Mexico into the EU, it would dominate it economically.
