I've seen this theory before but I don't buy it. Nobody has heard of this movie and I highly doubt that the first people to use the term were referencing it. Hell, I consider myself an armchair fan of '80s culture shit and I had never heard of it before this explanation started floating about.

I think a more likely explanation is that it started as an unintentional corruption or typo of "choad," slang for a short, Ralph-like penis.

It’s really not that weird. They would have been old enough when the internet really started to spread to the casual user that they could have spent time and effort on their silly computer shows, while also being young enough to not automatically think that it would be a bad idea.

He's stated before that the easiest thing to do is just not answer the door. He also joked about going to a kinkos and printing out a large picture of ralph that says he's a sex criminal and putting it on his door.

the most ironic part about the whole Ross ordeal is that one of his a-logs actually got caught having CP on his computer while Ross is chilling in a halfway house right now. The more I look back on it I think Ross was just really fucking autistic and probably didn't actually want to fuck children. Yeah, JetRax or something fucked his little sister and is now in jail plus some orbiters were caught having cp.

Now, this is interesting cause if it weren't for metokur I seriously doubt people would have found Ross and kept watching him.
