Careercow Darrick Dishaw / Venger Satanis / Kort'thalis Publishing - Incompetent TTRPG Creator, Filthy Coomer, Chronic Stoner, and Lovecraftian Cult Leader with a Cult of Grognards

What did Darrick help with?
It doesn't say, it screams nepotism to me. I wouldn't be surprised if his dad does all the work considering since when I look at the apartment complex, it says Wayne Dishaw, his dad, owns it and is implied does most of the work. I just wonder what will happen when his parents die and Darrick being the only child inevitably inherits it.

Darrick wrote another blog post about this OSR game jam that someone is hosting and how they want things free of "bigotry and hate" and how they are not "real OSR" because of that. He is going "no true scotsman" again because the OSR genre mostly has to do with mechanics, not content last time I checked. Also, they literally call him, Grim Jim,and RPGPundit out saying that they can fuck off. (archive)

Also, he says that Satanist Christian is correct about him, which, no, you can't be both a Christian and a Satanist and I highly doubt he is a Christian since Christians are against your basically pornographic content you make and your drug use as well as occult practices which are a huge no-no. Not to mention he can't even be a proper Satanist since he got kicked out.

He also talks about how the recent school shooting wouldn't have happened if Christianity and God was still in the classrooms. Like, I said this before, he wouldn't have even dreamed of saying this ten years ago. Plus, I am pretty sure most Christians don't approve of the occult, Darrick. They don't like that shit, to them, you are a heathen that needs to be rebuked. Plus, again, Christians would not approve of your content, especially the sex stuff, in your games. Infact, if they see your games and that is the only experience they have with ttrpgs, it would probably reinforce their beliefs that D&D and ttrpgs in general for that matter is of the devil. Like seriously, you are a walking Chick Tract villain. Christians don't want you anywhere near them.

I've known "Christian Satanists" before and they fall into two camps.
One views the Satanism as a needed foil against Church dogma intruding into secular life. You are playing the devils advocate to make sure that the flawed reasoning of men can't be used to enact the will of Satan, sort of like Slayer. Or they are really secular Christians, and the Satanic Temple is the current rabble-rousing game in town.

The other side are angry at God for not existing like Marquis de Sade. They promote and reinforce Christian morale values even as they attempt to tear down institutions, because without them they wouldn't have anything to rebel against. Or if they did, they'd have to rebel in ways that wold be strange and uncomfortable.

I've also interacts with some gnostics but while that'd actually probably jive perfectly with Darrick's worldview, the finer points are beyond him and true gnosticism requires introspection and self-discovery, which is antithetical to being a weed brain.

Again, none of this (other than maybe the being angry at god for not existing) applies to Darrick because he lacks the self awareness. He is just doing political lamprey shit.

Like, I said this before, he wouldn't have even dreamed of saying this ten years ago. Plus, I am pretty sure most Christians don't approve of the occult, Darrick.

Counter point: Papists.

They don't like that shit, to them, you are a heathen
I think heathen is too kind a term. He's not ignorant of the religion and doesn't worship foreign gods and idols. He's knowingly choosing to follow Satan. That's either apostasy or heresy, it's much worse.

He's trying so hard to have his cake and eat it too. Playing the perpetual contrarian but doesn't know enough about anything to not look retarded.

Might as well do an autopsy of Darrick's newest blog post if it is that out of touch and screeching with wounded ego.

I really thought we'd hear back from DriveThruRPG by now, regarding the status of The Good Syma'arian.
Oh well, let's talk about other stuff (but first, read this based as fuck review) while we wait...
Not sounding like a good sign for Darrick there given that it's just an 8 page cynical cash grab exploiting a current event that can be read in less than a half hour. Probably why you should try to write a game that's fun, and not filled with topical [current year] bullshit. Also probably why you don't try to conflate Roe v. Wade with DnD's creation.

So as for the "Based as fuck" review, that's another one of his grifting buddies. That review is by David Guyll of Awful Good Games. He only "likes it" because it "triggers da libs, owns da libs" to sum up the review. By the way fun fact: this retard doxed himself while running a hateblog called Your RPG is shit. He was also retarded enough to try and make an OSR logo that used the nazi variation of the swastika.

So yeah, very fitting that an edgy manbaby who DFE'd his shitty blog and likely will tard-panic after me outing his ass in thread would try and rationalize and pretend the libertarian coomer's work is based. Fucking faker and gayer than Nick Fuentes, and that dude wants to be fucked as a cat-boy.

Looks like there's another OSR Jam happening on Itch.io. The radical-left continues to sully our good name and exclude the best and brightest from their cringeworthy ranks.
Reminder this baked waste case wants to be able to march into game stores, which often have minors invested in either trying to find manga to read or cards to collect, and then loudly describe how the clown demons triple penetrate the whore's asshole. Reminder that he apparently did this in audible hearing of his OWN CHILDREN SO OFTEN that his wife KICKED HIS GAMING GROUP OUT.

Just as degenerate as all the troons he a-logs while being an otherkin.
Darrick said:
I hope those slanderous crybullies get what they deserve. They weren't too far off the mark with that "satanist christian" comment, but the rest is bullshit.
It isn't slander if it's true. Also it'd be libel dummy.

Reminder Darrick on the regular insults troons on his blog, and only avoids doing it on video because he's a coward who doesn't put his face to it. Oh he can call them degenerates who want to indoctrinate children or rape women in former women-only spaces on his blog, but the moment that camera's on he loses all his ability to say that shit out loud.
Darrick said:
Speaking of Christianity, like many of you, I'm devastated by the TX school shooting that just happened (as we're still reeling from the horrific Buffalo, NY shooting). Maybe it was a mistake taking Christianity out of the classroom and replacing it with progressivism, Marxism, moral relativism, along with bizarre gender ideology and sexual education in elementary and middle schools?
Gotta love fake conservative talking points and projection.

Darrick only became a conservative when he realized how much money he thought he could make from idiot right wingers he thought he could trick. He's tried scams like this in the past, given he's tried several times to be a fake guru and a cult leader.

Also reminder this man LARPs as a tentacle monster in his own head, that's more cringe than the girls who pretend to be genderfluid for goodie points IMO.
Darrick said:
The left says they don't want to ban books in schools, but the first book they banned was The Bible, a testament to western civilization. Perhaps if we brought Christian values back into schools, we'd have less tragedies...
This moralizing and hypocritical stoner is full of shit; you can totally bring a bible and read it in a public school. A kid, if they totally felt like it, could make a small morning mass during homeroom to pray to God, Allah, or Vishnu all they want. It's protected under First Amendment rights.

Not that he cares. Hell, the only reason I bet he puts his kids in a private school is to avoid their "lessers" given his rampant delusions of grandeur. Reminder he believes he is a god in some dimension out there.
Darrick said:
As for ditching the 2nd Amendment, I know the left would love a cultural revolution where Americans gave up all their guns and trusted the government, but look around. The government is less trustworthy now than at any other time in recent memory.
Stopped clock, but irrelevant to the post. Purely an attempt to build support via an affinity scheme method.

Greg Gillespie released a Kickstarter update on May 18th, where he says "devoid of woke nonsense". A lot of leftoids got mad, either telling him off in the comments or canceling their pledge.
Darrick, being desperate to tar people with brushes to make his side look better, ignores the backers who got miffed since they just wanted a fun fantasy game with dwarrow, and not get reminded of the awful nightmare world we live in.
Darrick said:
Good for Greg! He stood up to the woke, and so should we all. When he releases this current project, I'll buy it just to spite them.
STUNNING AND BRAVE! DARRICK CRIED BUTTERFLY TEARS!

Seriously, same energy as a person who uses a gay person in a work as a human shield to avoid criticism.
Darrick said:
If you know of any other anti-woke, anti-leftist (who wants to organize that OSR Jam?) RPG news, please share it with me. Now is the time to fight even harder, not back down!
Darrick is mostly angy because he can't try to offload some of the cases of his shit books onto the Jam IMO.

p.s. Holy crap! We're less than 2 months away from this July's VENGER CON. Grab your ticket and enjoy the best old-school, OSR, and traditional gaming experience in decades.
Less than 2 months away, and I bet he has put no thoughts into how to organize security to prevent enterprising trolls from fucking with them, no effort on recruiting GMs and organizing supplies, no efforts to get other members of his grift circle to at least show up.

It's cute that he finally put down a basic schedule finally. But that only selling 23 badges at the time of writing this is a big fuckin' oof IMO.

It's gonna suck.

Remember in the initial description of Vengercon he said to keep politics at door? Because he sure didn't

Screenshot for evidence

Also, I noticed something, initially it said 18+, but it was recently changed to "18+ unless chaperoned by a parent or guardian" Why did he all the sudden allow it I wonder? That sounds like a very bad idea

Misha Burnett running "An Atlas of Bad Roads" based on his upcoming horror anthology "using a stripped-down D&D system". It starts in a truck stop in rural Missouri at 3am. This session is from 10am - 2pm.
WTF does that mean?

It took me awhile to realize this was the session summary, I thought they were actually going to have to head to a truck station in Missouri at 3am.

That's of course if these people can show up. Since Darrick did ask for them so late and didn't plan shit out until about now, it's possible some of these event coordinators might not show.

Gotta love the Two Minutes of Hate that contradicts the "leave politics at the door".

Also Darrick is so retarded he's running Alpha Blue as a game on Saturday... to a venue that allows children now and doesn't have age limit. Now I'm not saying call the police, but-

Worth noting that the Church of Satan, the organization founded by Anton Lavey, is and always has been an atheist organization. This is made explicitly clear in The Satanic Bible, and in their public statements. They see "Satanism" as total opposition to religion, which includes worshiping deities of any kind. This has always been the position of the CoS.

vengerfakegay3.png

vengerfakegay.png

vengerfakegay2.png

Darrick told on himself with the "shock value and orgies" bit. That's exactly why Venger was posing as a Satanist. And a troon. And, now, a conservative. Darrick, if you were "religious", you were never really a Satanist. This is like claiming to be a Christian, but not believing in Jesus. It's a central tenet of the belief system, ya dope. And calling CoS "radical left" is a stretch, because it's also an explicitly anti-egalitarian philosophy, with a LOT of right-wing/white supremacist overlap.

Disclaimer: not a Satanist, this is leftover useless knowledge from my Heavy Metal teenage years

Edit: also worth noting that, though Venger "used to be" a satanist, and voted for Obama, it doesn't stop him, with his characteristic lack of self-awareness, from posting stuff like this:
vengerfakegay4.png

Imagine thinking that the right hasn't shifted in the last 14 years. Then imagine being a "former Satanist" and Obama-voter-turned-"conservative" who thinks, "I haven't changed, YOU have!"

Edit 2: Also, Darrick is a college-educated guy from a family whose parents could afford to buy an apartment complex so he didn't have to get a job. This whole "B-but what about the working class" schtick is a joke. Same with RPGPundit. Now, I don't know if Darrick graduated, but I'm guessing he's not an engineer. Pundit has a liberal arts degree, too, and a wealthy family, and I'd wager neither of these dudes has ever worked a manual labor job. They've somehow convinced themselves that being a trust-fund liberal arts "conservative" is more authentic than being a trust-fund liberal arts "socialist", which is pretty lulzy.

New blog post from Darrick where he plays martyr because the verdict was that his module is banned from Drivethruprg and won't be put back up. He obviously wanted this to happen. (archive)

P.S. that image of a bloody dead fetus he posted? That is more likely than not a D&C procedure meaning that baby died on its own because it was a potato with genetics incompatible with life and they are just cleaning the womb out.

Also, it is funny that someone who is supposedly pro-life would support the death penalty because being pro-life means not just being anti-abortion, but believing that EVERYONE has a right to life that can't be taken away no matter what which means not supporting euthanasia in favor of palliative care or the death penalty in favor of a life sentence, even when it comes to the most despicable of criminals.

darrick death penalty.png

It is also funny since again, he is now allowing minors at his convention with very much adult content. There are a lot of cons that have panels and adult events that allow children and teens to attend, but you know what they do? They have those events behind closed doors away from the underage con goers with someone checking ID at the door. Oh yeah, parents permission? Doesn't matter, not according to the law, when it comes to con events with adult content, there is absolutely no exceptions, it is literally the law and cons can get into legal trouble if they break it. It also might be wise to purchase event insurance, not that he will need it since barely anyone signed up

From what I recall, Darrick rented one big room at the Double Tree meaning minors are in ear shot of the adult events. Also, notice how in the Alpha Blue game and every single other game, there is no age limit when there should be

And that's not even cherry picking, I gave quite a few examples of this in the OP when I talked about Alpha Blue, and there's still quite a few topless and fetish laden pictures in it too. Darrick is asking for a felony involving giving pornographic materials to minors if he's this stupid with letting kids on.

He genuinely sees nothing wrong with minors hearing and/or partaking in this. He'll A-log troons for doing this, but of course rules for thee none for me.

Oh, and reminder: this spazz loses his shit over being banned, and then is retarded enough to not spoiler actual images of a miscarriage/abortion. He genuinely wonders why a company would boot him after reading his shit blog. What a moron; this is why you don't constantly smoke weed kids.

ADDENDUM: By the way, this stoner who lives off his landlord daddy and breadwinner mommy-wife? He knowingly violated Terms of Service when he uploaded his abortion booklet. So yes, he intentionally sought martyrdom for attention. So you know, laugh at him.

I read DriveThruRPG's email yesterday and the upshot is that The Good Syma'arian one-shot Cha'alt adventure won't be allowed back onto their virtual shelves without several changes.

Specifically, the child endangerment portions. While I fully understand, after all, it's written in their rules, taking that stuff out dilutes the message. Yes, it's wrong to harm, let alone murder, babies and kids. That's one of the reasons I wrote the scenario!

Not sure how we missed this one, but it looks like Darrick had an online magazine up for a while, called The Draconic. In Typical Darrick fashion, everything inside is ripped off:

yousuckvenger.png

...you failed.

I can only assume this was the conception of Cha'alt. Since it has all the same hallmarks, i.e., complete lack of original or interesting content. He even copied the logo from Dragon magazine:
yousuckvenger3.png
yousuckvenger4.png

Here is the blog post where he talks about it:

And here is Draconic itself, via wayback machine:

I think there were other contributors, but it seems to be mainly Darrick's stuff.

Oh, and you know how Darrick is always describing Cha'alt as "gonzo science-fantasy post-apocalypse"? He seems to have lifted that from Anomalous Subsurface Environment, which came out WAY before Cha'alt, and which he name-checked in the above quote.

From the two ASE books:

Anomalous Subsurface Environment rules, though.

Darrick made another painting with Trinity. At least he allows his kids to play with his paints after taking their colored pencils all the time.

So, I'm skimming over his (pirated, natch) Cha'alt book, and it's really impossible to overstate just how painfully shitty it is. And I say this not because I think Darrick's a dork. There are plenty of dorks, or people whose politics I don't share, who make great RPG stuff. But Darrick does not.

First off, the sheer number of pop-culture references is obnoxious, for a few reasons. One, it's just lazy. He's not even obliquely referencing things in most cases, just using stupid naming conventions along the lines of Sta'ar Wa'ars. Two, these references are often the focus of an encounter or room, which begs the question: how much of this shit is actually "original", or really written by Darrick? Three, while many of these call-backs are core parts of encounters, for players to interact with, just as many exist only for flavor text, so, why not just write something original? There is very little that distinguishes Cha'alt from an afternoon of Darrick channel surfing while he's baked, eating cold Beanee Weenie from the can. Just a never-ending barrage of, "Hey, man, remember this?" that gets old real quick.

There are a lot of random tables, which can be great, but many of them are small lists, rather than d20 or larger. It feels half-assed. There is one random table with 69 possible results, and rather than map these to a d100 roll, Darrick has lazily just left it to the reader to deal with. Easy enough to solve, but lazy nonetheless.

It's also obvious that Anomalous Subsurface Environment, which Darrick has obviously read and admired, was a pretty big "influence" on Cha'alt. I almost feel bad basically calling Darrick a plagiarist, but then... *spreads arms wide and looks around*...

I'm sure some of this can be put down to common influences. Both dungeons were obviously inspired by stuff like Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, so I haven't bothered talking about the laser guns and whatnot common to both. But it's kind of hard to ignore these similarities given that Darrick has admitted to being influenced by ASE, and also that 80 percent or more of Darrick's stuff is something he saw somewhere else. I've seen references to Dune, Rick and Morty, Pee-Wee's Playhouse, and Kids In The Hall, and I'm not even reading this, just flipping through. And though Venger's interest in Lovecraft predates ASE, it's still a bit of a coincidence that ASE has a cult of Nyarlathotep, another of Lovecraft's creations, just as Cha'alt has K’tulu cultists. Cha'alt is centered around a gaint black pyramid, while ASE has 10' tall black pyramids in every temple of The Cult of Science. Again, some of this could be coincidence, sure, but why would you give Darrick "Xerox" Dishaw the benfit of the doubt, after seeing what he's taken from so many other sources?

I should point out that though there are pop culture references in ASE, they are but a few, and they are cryptic (a statue of an unnamed guitarist in a schoolboy's uniform, for example). Whereas Cha'alt is literally wallpapered with them, and they're blatantly obvious.

Olay. The silver balls could've been a coincidental reference to Phantasam, but god this is just really blatant.

Geez, I knew he wasn't very original with all of his references and stuff, but this crosses the line into plagiarism. Damn. This isn't the first time he plagiarized since he did do that with his sacred texts of his cult which he will get really angry when you bring it up so I am not surprised if he did it again.

In ASE the spheres are transparent, but still...
HE couldn't even be original when coming up with his rape clowns. SMH
Monstrous clowns are pretty common on ASE's 2nd level, and also (surprise surprise) in Cha'alt.

Edit: It's hard to know where Darrick's "I like this, I'm gonna use it" ends and his "I'm too high to remember what's an original idea and what I saw somewhere else while I was stoned" begins.

Edit 2: Oh shit, I forgot that Darrick straight plagiarized his Cthulhu bible from Wikipedia. Oh, yeah, for sure he 100% did ALL that shit on purpose.
