Edited to add: I don't know why I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt on her fentanyl comment, because she's a piece of shit, but it is true that a lot of the stuff about cops touching bags of cut dope and "feeling lightheaded" or whatever are just straight bullshit. Fentanyl is incredibly dangerous, but you aren't going to drop dead from touching it.

I think it was lolcow- but yeah, she was the "contact" for a friend. Lurch was the supplier and said something along the lines of "this shit is good, it's killed 3 or 4 people".

I tend to be cautious with believing anons about cows but for some reason I believe that one- and it kinda hit home that Luna isn't just a funny/pathetic loser, but a dangerously selfish one.

We remove fentanyl patches all the time, the powder is used in our pharmacy too. It's not lethal to touch. It doesn't penetrate skin any more than touching cocaine would.

The patches are treated with chemicals that allow it to penetrate skin. Those can be dangerous for prolonged contact. It takes about ten to fifteen minutes to penetrate and kick in when given that way.

Junkies die of it because of issues with cutting and mixing. Batches of it have "hot spots", like chocolate chips on a cookie. If the junkie gets one they OD.

We've had one autopsy of a fentanyl "contact" death. On further testing they had levels of three illegal narcotics on top of the fentanyl. I have suspicion that most people who claim (cops) to have been "drugged" by touching a powder are actually using drugs and know that they'll fail a urine test soon. It gives them cover.

Medically speaking, fentanyl cannot penetrate your skin. The powder in large amounts in the air could be breathed in, the patches applied to the skin could eventually dose you- but the powder itself is inert and it's physically impossible for it to harm you. Claims to the contrary are obvious bullshit.

Thank you for this. I’m tired of the bullshit, exaggerations and propaganda about drugs. It does more harm than good. Makes young people think if they’re lying about one thing, then they must be lying about all of it, making them less trusting and more inclined to try it. It’s usually teens/people that are already rebellious that get started young, they don’t need the extra justification. Drugs are bad enough, lying and exaggerating about them is unnecessary and stupid.

If just touching powder/residue could kill you so easily, entire families and households would be wiped out constantly. You really think most junkies are out there washing their hands after every hit? They’re not, and yet they’re still the only ones dying from it.

Fentanyl aside, thank fuck for @cuddle striker for bringing sense to the discussion, it looks like Luna has either perioral dermatitis which can be a bitch to treat, but a lack of hygiene and constantly slathering your face in makeup can acerbate.

That shit can fucking itch like hell and then it flakes, but laying off the face creams and just regularly cleaning can help an outbreak calm the fuck down. It's also beyond me that she'd claim a Gatorade mustache, which is fucking trashy instead of a skin infection which can elicit asspats and pity. But if Luna used common sense, then we wouldn't be here to begin with, lol.
