Dude was lied to and had sexual contact with someone he did not consent to. Of course, for some reason, that logic doesn't apply to trannies, even in this case where he wasn't using a picture of himself.

E: Also the gay panic "defense" is not a legal thing. It's a tactic that people argue for lesser charges on the grounds of incitement or diminished capacity. The bans are big showy things, but in practice the defense has actually rarely worked, and has never (to my knowledge) resulted in acquittal. The best these dudes get is voluntary manslaughter instead of murder. I also find it infuriating that trans people equate a gay panic, where theoretically the incitement is flirting, with the trans panic, where the incitement is the discovery of a deception after sexual intercourse has occurred. One of these things is waaaaaaaayyyyy more of a personal violation than another.
