Pretty sure we know that's a load of crap. She might have had some summer jobs perhaps, after all she does claim her working on her student paper as "investigative journalism" and her internship with Trent Fucking Lott as a political career. There's only a few months that are unaccounted for between the time she left university and the time she shacked up with Frank, got herself all trannified and started on R60.

Oh yeah, and her more recent claims would have us believe she was homeless during at least part of that period.

It's been speculated but seems unlikely. The money for the studio was given in 1999, Wu started transitioning in 2005. If the money was really used for surgery than Flynt was seating on it for a long time. At the beginning of June 2008 Wu wrote a post about a surgery she had at the time, calling it a "radical surgery to correct a long-standing birth defect to my urinary tract". About two weeks earlier she thanked everyone who answered Frank calls for donations, saying that she can pay for the operation thanks to the support of friends and family. I'm not sure which family was she referring to i.e some of her biological relatives and their in-laws or Frank's relatives. Either way the surgery was crowd-funded, best investment ever.

When taking inflation into account, other common movies usually cited for being the highest grossing ones are Avatar, Titanic, and Gone With the Wind, with Wikipedia being listing the last of these as being the highest grossing when taking inflation into account. Avatar is indeed quite male-oriented (and also a shit film), so I'll give you that one. Titanic, on the other hand, is essentially a romantic movie, making Rose integral (even if annoying) to the plot, while Gone With the Wind is centered almost entirely on Scarlett O'Hara - a woman-centered film that is often regarded as one of the best movies ever made...and made in 1939.

Other prominent top-grossers from recent years include Frozen (woman-centered), Furious 7 (praised by some for a diverse cast - I haven't seen it so I can't say), and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (shit film but woman-centered all the same). So John, who exactly has been telling you that woman-centered mass media doesn't sell? Honestly, though, I wouldn't make fun of her if she was actually taking all this extra time to FIX the damned game. Tweak the script, add some more gameplay, give us a reason to actually care about the story. But no, all she does is mess with the lighting over and over again. Is it because the lighting is the only thing she can change, since her lead programmer is gone? Or is she just convinced it's already perfect and is deliberately changing only little things just for an excuse to delay the release? Maybe a little from column A, little from column B.

Considering she's using the OS equivalent of notepad to "hack" xml files instead of a better editor any coder would use, most of the screenshots she uploads only show the visual editor, and the fact that she needed one full hour (or so she says, but it would be too stupid to lie about it) to find/read some class docs...everything points to yes, she doesn't know how to do actual coding, only fooling around with the editor.

Johnny never speaks of actual code issues that pretty much every developer with a twitter addiction talks about, no sudden breakages, no talk of algorithms, numbers or optimizations whatsoever. She uses almost no jargon even when it'd be convenient for the Twitter format. Ever seen her using a code editor? Even just a window with code open? Brag about actual coding feats? (very telling since she brags about any task no matter how small) All evidence points out to her... mostly doing what amounts to the job of an artist.

Now, I won't be overly harsh, that is part of a "solo" developer's job, and depending on your standards and/or experience, can take a lot of time. To put it in perspective, what she's doing is more akin to putting a scene together in Blender, moving lights, adjusting paths, setting nodes and whatnot. That's work that has to be done in a game, true. I can respect that.

I will, however, be overly harsh in the fact that she claims to be a software engineer as a way to "win" arguments and openly belittles Frank for being made to do that exact same work despite probably having more artistic know-how. And the fact that once you reach release date, someone with obligations such as delivering a Kickstarted product shouldn't be clumsily fooling around with that stuff. That's stuff you do for practice in your free time, instead of making the people that made the game possible wait. Someone is being an ingrate. I think that's even worse than being an spergy liar.

This is the very reason that I believe that this bullshit about lighting and other stupid shit and text editing xml files is literally the ONLY thing Wu is doing with Rev 60. It is nowhere near release and will never get any closer as long as all Wu is doing is fucking around with trivial shit that doesn't matter.

If it is released, it will be with some cosmetic changes at most. If there's anything substantive that needs to be done before releasing it, Wu is entirely incapable of doing it, being basically an utter phony.

If Wu were actually doing anything of substance, we'd hear about it endlessly.

Therefore, all Wu has done is the dumb shit we've seen on Twitter.
