I always get facism, communism, socialism, and authoritarianism confused. To me, they are the same thing, a toxic, cancerous political philosophy/system that will never work outside of paper because humans are shit. Clarifying, they don't work for nations and huge groups of people.

Authoritarianism is just raw control over all aspects of life, regardless of economic leaning.

Socialism is a root ideology. It “working properly” involves stripping the reward earned from individual talent.

Communism is a derivation of Socialism. The simple way to remember its method is to say Communism strips away revenues when they come in. Then redistribution then begins without even checking for losses.

Fascism is the other derivation of Socialism. Fascism is different from Socialism in that Fascism takes away profits, not revenues. Fascism also tries to find ”the best” people for a job, which slows the decay that Communism can’t avoid due to their “buddy system” method of leadership.

Fascism always looks capitalistic at a glance. However, it is still Socialism. It is just a regimented meritocracy from the outset, but not long afterwards. Essentially, the rot that plagues Communism sets in over time, but the people at the top were at least competent enough to get there, meaning they can stem the tide while the dam slowly breaks. Remember that Volkswagen still exists to this day, as do other Nazi established/protected companies. (Don’t know of any others, but there is no way in hell only one is still around.)
