Registrations will remain closed to the public throughout June, 2022.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
There have been cases during the CB radio craze of vigilante mobs trying to find someone who was shitposting on CB Radio channels to beat them up. Anonymous shitposting and doxing is probably as old as any form of remote communication, it's just the frequency of it has gone up since more and more people have access to it.
Lol, now I'm picturing some ancient cavemen or jungle-dwellers seeking out some nearby sperg shitposting on their drums.

hey guys look i'm a 2013 join date user and because of that all of my posts are quality posts. every. last. one. of. them.

but yeah, the newfags have been kinda horrendous lately, i don't blame nool for keeping registration down
Do we get to feel superior cause we were autistic pre 2015? Very Important Autists.
nah back on topic though, I lurked for a bit before I joined but the referral system I feel even though I dont like date registry superiority but perhaps restricting accounts that are pretty new from referring others?

It took like 3 years before I decided to make an account. Lurked a lot to make sure I didn't make an ass out of myself - at least worse than I still did.

Nowadays, newfags are a more retarded breed. I'm surprised we aren't seeing more personal army requests from lil timmy that got his feefees hurt because they were called a faggot online by some mouthbreather sjw like we had around the time Chris Chan went back into the spotlight.

It was like every day. Knock on wood though.
It wasn't exactly hard to figure the place out - basically just act as I normally would, but without having to hold back as there was no-one to offend.

I think an account has to be at least 6 months old to refer. It's not like I would steer people I know IRL here, but I couldn't refer anyone during the Byuu incident or the Merge because my account was less than a certain age.

As a solution to the influx of retards, maybe emphasize the dangers of this place a little more? I spent a good amount of time lurking before registering because I wanted to make sure I had everything locked down and safe before I made an account here.

Unfortunate that lurking prior to registering is unenforceable.
It is sort of enforceable in that you could require people to log-in X number of times or view Y number of threads before being allowed to post.
Users could theoretically be given an authentication challenge that would test their knowledge of the terms of service/infosec warning (e.g. multiple choice questions, typing out portions of the text verbatim).
In other words, you can't really compel people to read anything, but you can certainly strongly push them in that direction if you really want to.
You could also theoretically set board-specific account-age or reaction-score/Kiwi Social Credit Score requirements. For example, if the Fuentes board is becoming plagued, you could limit posting privileges there to non-newfags, verified leaks, and specifically mod-approved users only. It would also cut down on the number of people claiming inside info without any evidence or authentication.
Idk it would probably just be easier to close registration, though.

Sounds like more trouble than it's worth - if you have to baby-step people into being themselves rather than act like Edgetard, I don't think they'd get it.

It would be informative if the average lurk time could be obtained. From what I have seen mentioned by kiwis, and from experience, lurk time is often several years. 7 years in my case. Never go into battle without good reconnaissance and intel.

lmao battle. this is a retard watching forum

Frankly, coming up with a way of filtering newfags that's not through simple lurking and culture is a tough nut to crack. Without it being an organic process.. I don't know what to say.
That's stupid. You're stupid. Just charge new accounts like $10 or whatever to sign up. Get paid, you dumb Serb! You can always ban them afterwards.
Going the 10buxclub route is bad however. While it would help null fund the site. I feel it would have a chilling effect on users signing up to dump info on cows. And having retards come to argue on their personal thread.
The site is seeing a wider audience and mostly from political actors rather than an interest at laughing at the internets village idiots. While that's due to the corporate constraining of the internet these refugees end up coming here as it's more focused than other websites that allow anyone to talk. (As long as it's on topic) it almost seems that there should be a separate forum entirely for them. But that's a whole fucking boondoggle in of itself. And something that can't really be feasibly done. Monetary or otherwise.

Waiting it out really seems to be the best option. Let it fade from the news cycle. Maybe have new accounts unable to access A&N for a month or so. That section really produces some exceptional individuals.

The kids who grew up with social media practice about as much infosec as their boomer grandparents. Apparently only those who grew up in web 1.0 learnt the value of not attaching your virtual shit to your actual identity.
I regret my mistakes every day.

Imagine having a Florida name, though:

It's the 'happenings' that either get big news or have a large fan base. Social media shitholes will actively censor, people scramble for information, and this is one of the few bastions where you can say whatever the fuck you want.

I lurked for years, mostly because I was waiting for my confirmation email to come in.

Close registration during big events or find some way to limit positing during 'trial period'.

You guys clowned me when I proposed paid registrations. At least Null would get money off the newfags
Right, but this is how something awful started, and and the only real takeaway from two decades of that site is: "do the opposite of anything a goon would do you will find success, prosperity, and happiness in life".

To be clear though, I have no doubt Null could run the world's premiere sex change community if he wished.

Looking at users based on age is weird to me because I seen some people who sign up and post well after a couple months like they get it and understand how the site works, usually new people it takes a while to get the hang of things, hell even me it took me a while to learn the lingo and how to talk on this site to "Fit In" but yeah I mean Banning and censoring is a gay first step because people will learn and some won't I am not a fan of blanketing people who are uninitiated.

My 4 main gripes with the current wave of new users and some part of the userbase are:

-They are not willing to contribute and when they do it's very lazy (no archives,twitter/discord screenshots etc).
-They are not willing to read just a few pages before reacting to a happening.
-Some of them only go to 1-2 thread or only a subforum. The site is huge, you should not be only in your hugbox.
-They are niggers (I can smell it).
