One thing I can't understand about Jim's political sperging is his point about the US & UK 'literally slipping into Theocratic Fascism'. I'm not as sure about the US, but on my observation, the influence of religious groups (Christian and only Christian, in Jim's state of mind) is completely irrelevant in modern day politics, with the closest thing to theocracy being that those groups are happy when abortion rights take a hit.

I can only assume he reads too much Alan Moore.

As i recall, Tumblr popularised the fad of the alphabet people and I remember it was originally LGBTQ+ before they started adding the IA, because queer was used as a catch-all for whatever nebulous shit you came up with to make yourself even more special than the regular genderspecials.

I think Jim was the first person I saw using the term but it seems to have been used a lot by lefties and I have no idea why. From my limited understanding a lot of the public conversation in the US about abortion usually comes down to whether a fetus is a new life and honestly you don't need to be religious to argue that point, it feels like they overused the term nazi so much that they needed a new buzzword to smeer people with but this new one just sounds dumb.

Jim doesn't seem to understand that perhaps his interactions are just snapshots of people's lives rather than a full assessment of the person. Gamers genrally care about more about video games its just at that specific moment we're discussing video games nor say my thoughts on unions or corporate support for political causes.

He also never seems to consider picking his battles I don't buy from ea because they're a blight (or nestle conversly) but it's unrealistic not to buy from anyone.

It seems to me like one of those unexpected SJW side effects - When its held that every organization and industry is personally responsible for rectifying the supposed mistakes of the past and future and to paint a new culture, it makes every piece of media "significant" by extension. Every game, developer, and critic takes on the indirect role of politician and cultural advisor under such expectations. Which is why the idea of "Its just a videogame, bro" is considered so bad among them, its demeaning of their 'important' work.

Of course, attempting to derive meaning from your life by fighting for the idea that disposable entertainment products must be cultural guidestones is just as sad as any other interpretation of the situation

Its not even getting upset about video games (which sure I can understand if it's someone's hobby) thats the problem but with Jim its getting upset at everything around them, I don't care how many women a CEO diddled to get me the game I want to play because I almost everyone who has an actual job is fully aware that there are shitty people in companies and 9 times out of 10 they get away with it. Horrifyingly enough they probably didn't actually get moved much under the layers of now compressed fat. His fat is probably squished even tighter against his organs helping to strangle them faster than he is already doing.

The sad part though is that when you compare him to your average fat chick using a corset to get a waist/boobs (or even for fun) he's being an absolute pussy about it. Barely any lift in the moob department and minimal waist difference leads me to think it's either loosely done up or the damn thing is too big. If that corset is as tight as it goes then I'll take a bet and say that Jim being a man ended up buying a corset too big because he thought it fitting means it feels a bit uncomfortable when done up as tight as possible and never bothered to google how they actually work before buying. General rule for corsets is if you can do it up all the way completely tight it's too big. There should be a few inches of seperation at the back where the laces are when it's done up, especially if you're buying your first corset because you will need to be able to tighten it as your body adjusts (also because it's just going to fit better if the laces adjust the corset to your body, not attempting to form yourself to the corset).

Beauty is pain Jim, cinch that waist a good three inches more and you might start to feel like a woman.

It is very strange to see Democrats still ten years behind on messaging to what Republicans actually want. It's bad for both parties- the Dem base gets easily riled up based on sour memories to attack Republicans, and Republicans are seeing a massive influx of the anti-Bushers who want a return to Clinton. The only reason celebrating abortion as the extremists do is still politically viable is due to the misconception that people like DeSantis are Bible-thumpers who want women in chains. It makes those disgusted by it more amenable to a slightly less radical opposite position, even if they generally support the right to abortion, and then they completely switch sides when they realise DeSantis types are actually not the moral crusade that propelled Bush to power. I know a lot of Republican voters are against more immigration, but once both parties realise that most immigrants find the current cultural pushes disgusting, you'll see a party line reversal. Republicans will want to foster immigration because they'll actually vote Republican, like how Muslim towns in the UK are fighting Labour in schools.

If Jim had any sense he'd tone down his messaging, if only to save his political views and income.

I hate this mentality. There's two big issues with his argument here:
1. I do want to keep up with current events and have topics I'm passionate about, but sometimes I want to relax and hear about some dumb video games. If people who talk about video games feel the need to constantly evangelize about the same politics over and over again then I get no escape, no non-political outlets.
2. Maybe I just don't want to hear about politics from Jim because he's not nearly as insightful and clever as he likes to believe.

So, yes, the fact that the community based around escapism would like an escape and to hear about the topic their community is based on every now and then is only a big surprise when you're an ideologue cultist.
