Someone in this thread once claimed to work for a funeral home and said that fat bodies are "routinely" dismembered for cremation. He was completely fulla shit and called out for it. Chopping up a body is very illegal, and no funeral home would even think of such a thing, let alone attempt it.

As family, you have a certain unnamed duty to look out for ailing members, that's all noble and good, gets you some good feels in as well, and if it comes to worse, you can have at least some solace in that all of you did what you could.

However, there are times when the member in question literally does nothing to help themselves, doesnt matter what you say or do, they don't wanna shape up. It's fucking exhausting. This isn't a friend or an acquaintance you can cut off and leave, but your own family, you can't just look away, so you keep trying for a while until you reach your wit's end

You slowly come to accept that this is a lost cause, and finally give up. "Whatever happens, happens". You don't cut the family off, you don't even treat them differently, you just do the basic manners like you always did, and wait for the inevitable

They make extra large retorts. But it’ll cost ya, when a normal body goes in I think it takes about 2 hours, in a 33” retort.
Bigger people need to be transported to a large crematory and it takes around 4 hours in a 56ish” retort which Jacks the price much higher. It is possible, but the money is a factor.

I can speak with some knowledge on adult protective services in Ontario & specifically Ottawa.

As with any social service agency, they were badly stretched to provide service before pandemic. In the 2+ years CoVD has been a major factor in most lives demand for their services has soared.

We all here know Chantal is batshit, cray-cray, a few sauces short of a full Nashie but without a HUGE number of recorded complaints in her tenant file that could trigger a discrete request for services from her landlord, (they hate to go there for many good reasons), no joy there. Her family? APS would try hard to lob he problem back to them.

I don't know, (I doubt it), if she's ever been formally diagnosed with any psychiatric issue but what would matter most to APS is her behaviour, actions & impacts on herself on others.

Is it a matter of her not being able to carry out reasonable activities of daily living - especially hygiene, sane self care including care of home or a CHOICE? Damned if I know but the fact that she'll spend hours a day driving to be with Nader inclines me to think she either is incpable or is SELECTIVELY lazy in her choice of activities.

Is Nader ripping her off? Not really - she is choosing to give him money; he's not a flat out scammer in the legal sense - he's just got her right whipped.

In any case, she has another adult living with her. Yes, she's supporting him but there's no fraud involved there either & thus no reason for APS to be concerned. They typically focus on older adults not able to care for themselves or susceptible to the heinous financial scams those who prey on the elderly love.

The only way to put a halt to her wild gallop is for her FAMILY to try & gain guardianship over her & that can comprise, financial, medical or overall "life decisions". It's hard enough if the person claims to agree to this & the province appoints an official for oversight to make sure the person isn't being in some way coerced.

If the subject of an attempt at guardianship wants no part of it, it's up to the person trying to make it happen to unequivocally PROVE the person is unsafe to themselves or others on their own & as heinous as her behaviour is, it doesn't meet that legal criteria.

I only hope that doesn't happen if/when she hits some poor innocent with her car or otherwise physically harms another person - no matter who they are.

I have experienced people who painted their apartment with their shit and went so far as to put it in their mouth. Could not get a doctor to deem them incapable, so around and around we go. The rule in my field is 'people have a right to live at risk' so basically absolving the person of having to act like a functioning human and giving the government an out to ignore them

I'll take a whack at this but I could be completely wrong. I think she's taking him to nasty motel after horror movie motel because this is the ONLY way they get time together--and it's getting expensive. Before, when they went to the really nice hotel in Toronto, they were staying together in the trap house. He could come to her house. Now that Dee Dee is in the picture (honestly seems like Nader needs her blessing/permission sometimes to spend time with Gunt), they have to go to these motels to have any kind of alone time.

I am also completely convinced that a financial arrangement has been made. Nader looks like he is completely checked out 95% of the time he's on camera with her, sounds slurry and disinterested (also, edibles and drugs, of course)..films the video, puts up with her and then runs back to Dee Dee. I think Gunt offered him a set amount of money to appear in videos with her, whether she's trying to troll (poorly) or appear to be in a happy relationship, and he's just there to fulfill his duties. That probably gets expensive, knowing that he will certainly convince her to also pay for his other needs. Motels are probably the only thing she can reasonably afford right now to be able to see him on a regular basis.
