"Everything feels fucked, and I'm not buying your bullshit" in 3 graphs.

The first is an economic confidence index. The blue line is expectations of the economy (in like 6 months), the red is how you feel now about the economy, and the yellow is the average.

A notable development just occurred where the blue line is now lower than the red, meaning people have officially run out of ultra-strength copium and know "shit's bad and it is getting worse."

Economic feeling among the populace is down, so wrong track skyrockets to 70.1%. These are some of the highest they've been at.

Finally, the front man, Biden, who says its never his fault, and has the entire media on his side, still has his approval in freefall. His disapproval cracked 60% recently and shows no sign of slowing down. If we weren't in clown world, he would probably be in the 70s in disapproval, and writing a resignation letter for the midterm destruction his party will go through.

Yes, but the conversation was about biden (or an assassin) removing Harris while she's still VP.
Not gonna happen. People can argue all they want about them having all the motive in the world, but that's not the problem; the problem is that once killing each other for political gains is on the table, absolutely all bets are off for good.

Not only would you have to convince an entire chain of would-be-responsible parties and security teams that it's better to look the other way as the one thing they're meant to prevent comes to pass, not only would you have literally hundreds of potential failure points. not only do you have to choose between saying that someone just waltzed right up and offed them (completely undermining security) or doing an Epstein (completely undermining credibility), not only do you have an extremely high risk that someone in the chain is going to be with another faction and break ranks and leak, but once "killing each other for political gain is okay" is in the democrat political options, it'll literally become kill or be killed. Anybody with half a brain against your faction now needs to see you as a literally existential threat. in turn, that means they must be ready to assassinate you, before you assassinate them.

Anyone with more than half a brain will be halfway over the horizon, causing even more of a competency drain. At best they'll be working "remotely" from a fortified bunker in new zealand, at worse they're now Enrico Hernandez the suspiciously yank-sounding upperclass spaniard who swears he's lived here in spain all his life, no he doesn't resemble the literally who congressman, have you SEEN this mustache? God forbid anyone fakes their death, and further heightens the hysteria. What you'll be left with are the people with more ambition than common sense, who will absolutely find ways to forgive themselves for murdering other democrats for power - he was racist, she was a threat to common decency, he threatened my rule.

Moreover, the number of people saying "Hans? Are we the Baddies?" will spike hundredsfold. The white house security will now become a sieve, and no one is going to want to be the fall guy for any of this.

Hunter is living proof of nepotism. Be the presidents crackhead son and you can get away with anything and still have a career.
Hunter Biden is next level nepotism. I can't think (on top of my head anyway) of any person with so little talent given so much only to behave in such a ridiculous fashion. Worse yet, that apparently his behavior has still not been considered heinous enough for people not to crucify either him or his pop.

It's not that him and his father's behavior isn't considered heinous to anyone with common decency (it is), or that people don't want to crucify him to a Minecraft cross (they do) - it's that they can't. Besides, "never interrupt your enemy when he's making a mistake".

Ford was the Speaker of the House when Nixon and Agnew resigned. Needless to say his presidency turned into a complete shit show after he pardoned Nixon.
Not quite. He was Minority Leader in the House when Agnew resigned, Nixon appointed him as VP, Congress confirmed him, then Nixon resigned and he became president. It's the only time (well, pair of times, since Ford then had to nominate a VP himself) the 25th Amendment's second section has been used since its ratification. If Nixon and Agnew had resigned simultaneously, or at least close enough such that a new VP hadn't been confirmed yet, then Carl Albert, the Speaker at the time, would have become acting president.

I'm sure that Kamala has no intention of jumping ship when she knows she's as close as she'll ever be to the presidency, but frankly, if she had the least amount of sense, she'd bail on this administration before it all collapses. Lord knows that if she ends up in the big chair, she's going to inherit a world of problems that she'll have absolutely no handle on, and no amount of "first woman president!" will cover for her. Biden's already going down as one of the worst presidents in history, does she really want to do the same? Eh, she's probably too dumb to realize this.

It does make me wonder what would have happened if Nixon really was as petty as people think he was. Imagine instead of resigning that he faced impeachment hearings and said the reason he was spying on the DNC was because he knew they cheated in 1960. Republicans would have been less willing to become the graceful losers we know today given how everyone loves mass surveillance of political enemies now.

Eh, she's probably too dumb to realize this.
No, she's fully aware. Why do you think we've barely seen hide or tail of her ever since she took the mantle of Veep?
Mom raised an interesting point....most of the positions that were left vacant were, as y'all would put it, "diversity hire" positions.
The first big exit came in December, when Kamala Harris’ senior adviser and chief spokesperson Symone Sanders announced she was leaving, ultimately for a gig at MSNBC. Since then, Harris senior aides Tina Flournoy, Ashley Etienne and Vincent Evans, and public engagement head Cedric Richmond have left.

Public engagement aide Carissa Smith, gender policy aide Kalisha Dessources Figures, National Security Council senior director Linda Etim, digital engagement director Cameron Trimble, associate counsel Funmi Olorunnipa Badejo, chief of staff Ron Klain advisers Elizabeth Wilkins and Niyat Mulugheta, press assistant Natalie Austin, National Economic Council aides Joelle Gamble and Connor Maxwell, and presidential personnel aides Danielle Okai, Reggie Greer and Rayshawn Dyson have all departed too. Deputy White House counsel Danielle Conley and Council of Economic Advisers aide Saharra Griffin are among others planning to leave in the coming weeks, according to White House officials.
Almost like they hired on black people purely to make themselves look good, or something...

Consumer sentiment for the last five years is also pretty striking:

It's cute a lot of you think the Secret Service isn't anymore compromised than the FBI, that it's the lone institution untouched by the swamp.
Point taken, however: they're still protecting Trump. Why haven't they slipped ricin into Trump's diet coke yet?

Those guys are indoctrinated to die and kill for the president's safety. They'd have to be vetted for unquestioning loyalty.

We have angry people on the Right who clench their teeth, seething that Blumpf gave up the presidency in 2020.

What even do you call Biden? The man and peers mock God every day, but his handlers are on their knees praying for a miracle that raises the approval ratings, keeps them in the job, and Jill off their backs.

Three years in, and the handlers are going to bring Biden down to late-term Dubya ratings.

According to Radar Online, Ashley Haynes, 47, was found drowned in the Arkansas River with an extension cord knotted to her ankle and attached to a concrete block –just months before businessman Mark Middleton’s body was discovered hanging from a tree with the same style electrical cord wrapped around his neck and a close-range shotgun blast through his chest.
It couldn't be more obvious that this was clearly suicide. Why are you posting this?

Maybe, but it doesn't seem to be as woke/perverted as the FBI so far as we know. At least it isn't being used to crush political dissent, not that it has the means to do that compared to the FBI.

A lot more good movies came out than that during the 70s, especially the New Hollywood school. Network, for example was pretty good.
I know, those were just a few I could think of on top of my head.

As for music, I'd argue '76 was the cutoff for good music. it started going downhill really fast from there.
For popular music sure. There was a lot of bandwagoning onto disco at the time. That shit was soulless. But a lot of alternative rock and shit was just taking off in 76. And disco at its best is really fucking good.

I was thinking more new wave and punk, as well as hard rock and prog. hard rock definitely had a noticeable trend downwards after 1975 across the board, with Zep, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, et al really going downhill midway through the decade. Pink Floyd and the Who produced some bangers in the late 70s, but the peak for both was arguably in 73.
