Most naive mistake you can make is to feel bad for a BPD hoe. They are serial liars, manipulative, unstable, two-faced, narcissistic, violent, aggressive, impulsive, and generally just some of the worst people out there. They need intensive behavioral therapy and maybe a shock collar.

I’m not happy or upset about a celeb couple’s spat trial. All I can say is that I don’t question the jury’s decision one bit. “Misogyny” my ass; the spoiled actress bed shitter doesn’t represent women, and especially does not represent the average domestic violence victim. This is a case of one possible asshat vs a certified even bigger one.

BPD: burnt too many times, never ever again.

The real criminal in this case was the media for giving celebrity sideshow #12948290483920105 so much attention.
Enlightened takes like this are so far removed from understanding society it's hilarious.

Celebrity sideshows get a lot of media focus because they get a lot of interest. People are interested because it is fun to watch. Nobody cares about your stupid Ghislane Maxwell trial, or your war, or your school shooting, or your protest trial, or whatever your pet political event is. It's not fun to watch bone dry proceedings about things that you have no control of, probably won't change anything, and are just depressing. It's not a mystery, it's not a conspiracy. It's just that people found the trial hilarious and entertaining to watch, and became emotionally invested in the results because they watched so much of it.

Estimates of her net worth range from $2.5M up to $10M. Several sources list a figure of $8M-that $10M estimate is probably too generous.

With her career guaranteed to receive a deathblow from this, it’s unlikely that she’ll be able to refill her coffers. She’s a tainted psychocunt whose acting skills aren’t good enough in order for studios to overlook her toxicity. Studios *will* knowingly take on and work with notoriously difficult, high-maintenance, controversial individuals and divas if they know that the product/art will be quality and have solid ROI potential. They’ll deal with the bullshit and stress to get to the prize at the end. But Amber doesn’t even have that going for her, so the cash flow is drying up and is liable to get worse. Add to the mix her surely extravagant lifestyle as an (admittedly third-rate) actress that she won’t want to limit, and that’s a financial disaster waiting to happen. Assuming she’s able to pay off Johnny fully, she’ll be starving by the end. Or, she doesn’t pay him off fully, and she’s chained to him for life as he garnishes his piece off of whatever meager earnings she somehow manages to get at this point, stopping only once she’s fully paid her dues.

My hope was for this lying, psychotic, false grievance-mongering, abusive cunt to lose. To be exposed, humiliated and awarded nothing (eta: she got $2M-2M more than what she deserved, but it’s still too little to be considered any kind of a win). To be consigned to eating from dumpsters as Johnny uses her cash to buy filet mignon and some of the rarest wines. I’m walking away from this debacle very satisfied indeed.
If only Harvey Weinstein was still around to guarantee her an Oscar.

Both Heard and Depp are guilty and skeevy in my personal opinion. But I think it's safe to say that this trial absolutely demolished both of their chances of resuming their film career, as they are now considered to be super toxic to the industry because if either of them are hired for something, different parts of the internet will raise a stink and rain hellfire.

What did Johnny do that was so bad besides fucking himself up on drugs and liquor? Heard was a real monster.

Maybe overly pessimistic here, but I don’t think this destroys her. Remember Michael Vick? Dude got busted for dogfighting, killing dogs, all of it. People were screaming how he’d be killed in prison, even convicts have standards, he’ll never be near a football again, blah blah blah. He did a couple of years in the slammer…got out…and went back into the NFL.

Remember Penn State? Covered up kids getting raped in their facility? Stripped of all their wins and titles…then a couple of years passed…and the NCAA gave them all back.

If someone thinks they can make money with Heard, she’ll earn. Fuck, even OJ Simpson managed to stay in one piece and he cut his fucking wife’s head off.
Penn State got their wins back after agreeing to drop the lawsuit they had going that was about to absolutely fuck the NCAA. That's the real moral of that story, same as this Drop/Heard one: if your reputation is at stake and you are in the right, can prove it and have the money then go to court.

You guys understand that he actually abused her physically and that he sued her for diffamation to get his movie career back?
Amber is a bad person and a cluster b head case but ... so he his! He is an addict and he did got violent.

It doesn't really matter his motivations. He deserves, like all people do, to have defamatory statements challenged in court. As to the argument that he is an abuser, after weeks of testimony and evidence, it was unanimously decided by the jury that he was not - otherwise, the statements would not have been defamatory in the first place.

Not the total blowout I expected, but still acceptable ending.

Depp made out like a bandit, honestly. Everyone's always known he drank and did drugs, so admitting he did that isn't going to affect his image. The only thing that came out - sort of - is his angry words toward Amber. But most of those were already out, and because it made Amber look so bad, and her abuse was well established, I doubt that will harm his image at all. It's only rehabilitated it.

So then why do people act like Johnny's so bad? Is it just people drunk on contrarianism? Or worse, drunk on centrism?

It makes you realize how the whole premise of a jury trial is fundamentally flawed when so many people say "the verdict should have been different because I don't like the person who won".

He has had some controversies outside of their relationship, such as dating Winona Ryder when she was 17 and being arrested for physical assault in the past.

And this is why court decisions are so important even when the court of public opinion is on one person's side. They will forever twist the one single count Amber won to prove she's innocent. Had she got a sweeping win this would be so much worse even if everyone knew it was a scam.

The singular claim Amber won on was explicitly the one not about Amber hoaxing or lying about abuse, but galaxybrains think that this actually means "Amber DIDN'T lie but she's not allowed to talk about it." That would only be true if they were both found equally defamatory, which would probably be a mistrial because they're actually mutually exclusive.

Also, related to the 'white people trial, black people most affected' I'd like to point out...

That hugging photo isn't from the verdict. Amber wore a black dress today. That hug came from an earlier day. Amber did not hug her lawyers, she did not shake their hand, she just left.
I heard (lol) that she was very nasty to her legal team.

Mind you this is only hearsay, but after watching the trial from start to finish, I'm willing to believe it.

EDIT: This look on Amber's face is comedy gold. That's the look you have when the last of your funds have dried out, your lies have been exposed, and you'll likely have to give $5 roadside blowjobs in order to pay back the man you abused. This look is just *Chef's kiss*
