Personally, I don’t believe either of them were great to each other but the media played a huge part in this case and watching the same people who harp on about not being influenced by the media, assume Johnny was innocent (prior to a verdict) based off of centralised media narratives is hilarious.

The irony is really, no one cares about domestic abuse survivors - period. For every awful male story, there's a female story that plays out nearly the same. And society reacts pretty much the same to both genders claiming any sort of abuse experience - you're weak, you deserved it, it didn't happen, etc.

So to me, the abusers almost always win.

But the media also knows the amount of victims and accused that exist in the world and this trial was merely a projection of an extremely prevalent issue that was exasperated due to lockdowns and the pandemics. Everyone can see themselves in the trial and the projection of their personal feelings regarding abuse will always give a certain bias to their opinion.

I do think, however, this has given both men and women an opportunity to show themselves to vehemently hate the opposite sex and wants to see a member of that sex suffer by proxy of what they've endured personally.

So once again, all the victims of abuse here have lost - male and female. The discourse has done its damage in the public mind, regardless of who you believed. If you legitimately think this somehow will help people believe male victims exist when there's been hundreds upon thousands of female victims that still fight to be believed then I suppose I will welcome you to the club - society is shit and no one cares about your fucked up abusive relationship except for you and your therapist and evidently, with enough money, some lawyers.

Cops don't deal with "domestics". They pick and choose on personal bias of how they woke up that day of whether or not to take you, male or female, seriously. Visit a shelter housing victims and hear the same story over and over again.
