The only way I can accept Jim getting carded is if he's too mushbrained to realise that the machine flags everyone buying energy drinks because it can't exactly tell what age the person using it is. Staff just wander over and pass it through without thinking.

That said: Think 25 is an absolutely retarded campaign where shops are expected to refuse service to anyone who they think doesn't look 25 regardless of the fact that they're buying products they can be a decade over the legal limit for.

The Cash Register forces the teller to put in the customers date of Birth. Fucking Target and Walmart do it here if you try and buy any shocking contraband such as decongestants.

Some UK supermarkets have policies to ID for everything age restricted; booze, cigs, and energy drinks - no matter what. Yes this does cause issue with 80 year old women trying to buy brandy but its store policy and has been for well over a decade at some.

I recall reading about a college girl that died after drinking a four loko cocktail with booze. Thing is, she was a tiny asian woman so it might have been too much for her, or she simply had an allergy or had something else before that reaction. Energy Drinks and Alcohol are an intense mix, but it only becomes a problem if you're overindulging in them, like a guy I read about whose weekend benders always had a mix of 2 fucking liters of energy drinks and vodka, which is fucking bonkers!
