Sony hate thread

You'd think 5 fuckin years would be good enough for them, but I guess when it's re-release was one of the big hitters for PS5 it's gotta tickle the bootyhole.
That's where the goal post is now "lmfao enjoy an ancient pos 5yo game, we got to play it first, sloppy seconds". Every fucking time like clockwork.

I love it so much, I watch these events specifically for the pc ports. Will never buy a single one of the PS exclusives cause they look like shit, but my God does it make the milk flow.

That sucked. I still have no interest in buying a PS5.
You are definitely not missing out on much. I bought one at launch for Demon's Souls remake but since then its just been gathering dust. Getting really sick of their cookie cutter 'movie' games and Horizon Forbidden West and the devs bitching about Elden Ring doing better was a fucking embarrassment.

Stuck to PC as usual and will probably just sell my PS5 since it's just a shitty dust collector and I have no interest in any of their first party games they put out. God of War Ragnarok looks like another 'DLC' disguised as a sequel much like Horizon was and I wasn't even a fan of the 2018 one that much, it strayed too far from what the classics were.

It's a shame since I originally bought my PS3 on launch on a whim when I was living in Japan at the time and since they fucked up their launch so hard for a while they were trying to be competitive but now they think they are top dog again and no surprise everything's gone to shit with them.

I disagree simply because of how much they've been branching out. Horizon did better than their previous tries at RPGs and seems to keep getting new games or updates so they certainly seem to be sticking with it and not letting it wither on the vine.

They've been going all in on IP Growth and it seems to be working, they're putting a ton behind these multimedia cross promotions which further expands their potential audience. That pretty much will fuel competition in itself.

Like i said, stick to PC or if you are to poor or to coward to build your pc get a Xbone that is almost the same deal and you can even jailbreak it for 20 bucks
Series X is about as hard to find as a PS5, the series S is the one that's easier to find but lacks a disc drive and binds you to the microsoft store.

Time will tell how they will go, you may be right but it does seem to be a common trend when it comes to them. It always tends to happen with these companies one becomes top dog and then the other play catch up, it's happened time and time again.

I just have started to lose faith in their IP's since they seem to be holding on to this 3rd person action 'rpg' thing harder than Ubisoft is with their generic open world games. Plus all the censorship, activism, cutting off from Japan has not been a good sign.

Horizon Forbidden West was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Tried to get into it but it just seemed like a shallow follow up to the first with slightly improved graphics, pretty much just extended DLC. Got sick of it very early on and have been playing Elden Ring since.

So at the Playstation state of play they didn't announce a single notable Playstation 5 exclusive?
Nope. Only Final Faggotry which is just a timed exclusive. Sonys just doing the same gay shit they tried to do to kill Sega where they write checks to anyone and everyone who will take them to try to smother competition. I mean fuck, they're scummy enough to do it with Kickstarter games that were already funded for other platforms. Basically paying devs to fuck over people who gave them money. As usual, whenever Sony is on top for too long they start becoming the worst kind of shitheels.

And even that line of thinking doesn't work because Miles Morales came out a year and a half ago. I'm sure the cope for that will be "lol you're getting the glorified expansion pack while we're getting the sequel, #SonyStaysWinning." Sony fans are nothing if not predictable.

I think Sony must regret releasing the PS5 so early. Who drops a new expensive as fuck console during a time when there's an economic recession and computer chip shortage? When scalper culture is at its peak? Nobody has the damn console, which means nobody buys its games, which means the games on it keep getting delayed or made multi platform. That hurts sales of the console even more, which hurts the sales of the games even more, which means more games get delayed, so forth and so on. It's a viscous circle of failure. The launch has been a disaster.

Is this going to be the first Sony console to flop? There was the Vita, but that was handheld. The PS3 had an equally bad launch, but it had the support of Jap developers and it sold very well in gookland. But Sony turned its back on Japan by putting diversity shit in every game, and the Japs turned their back on Sony in return. I think the days of 7 year lifespans for consoles are over. It takes so much money to develop a console and so long to build up a user base, if your console is a hit you might as well stick with it for as long as possible. PS5 games look exactly the same as PS4 games. What was the point of pivoting to a new gen when the PS4 still had so much life left in it and such a massive user base? I think console gens will probably last a decade going forward, if not longer.

There was no reason for Sony or Microsoft to release a system after they released the PS4 Pro and One X. Neither have produced a true generational exclusive. The systems themselves can't even provide 4K/60fps even when it comes to cross generational shit.

But the thing is, the gaming masses and twitch streamers are retards and are just going to buy shit up even if there is no real advantage or reason to do so. PS5 won't be a flop, neither will Series X. It's just going to be a generation where we see the AAA space grow more and more stale.

Yeah, and there's something to be said about building hype towards your new console. Remember how the Xbox One was ruined for life, because they nuked all hype with their ridiculous BS around E3 2013? Pushing the TV capabilities, forcing the Kinect alongside the console, and the nonsense about locking out used games entirely just obliterated all goodwill they had built with the 360, and all public perception of the Xbox brand.

And then both Microsoft and Sony launch new consoles right in the midst of the most globally chaotic situation anyone alive has ever seen first-hand. E3 was canceled, and there was simply no room to fit in hype and optimism for a brand new game console, especially at a time when used game prices across the board were skyrocketing beyond belief, and even things like the just-discontinued 3DS were getting sought after. There weren't even any noteworthy games announced for either console's launch that weren't just coming to the older systems anyway, and big multiplatform titles, over 1 1/2 years later, are still launching on the 2013 consoles. And they're doing way better! Because so few people actually own a PS5 or a Series X!

It just didn't feel like a new console generation started. They really should have held off until this year. It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of people didn't realize that new systems are out, simply because of their total lack of presence. I'll give it to Microsoft, they've managed to get the word out about Game Pass and (somehow) push out plenty of Series Ss, but Game Pass is just yet another subscription service, and the Series S is relatively weak, with a smallish SSD and no disc drive. But if you go to Target right now with the intent of buying a game console, it's that or a Switch, with no other choices. Their PlayStation section is well-stocked with controllers and games, yet buying a PS5 still requires you to get on an internet waitlist. It's insane. PS4s haven't been readily available since the start of the pandemic, either, which means its been about two years since the last time you could just walk into the store any ol' day and buy a brand new PlayStation. And what does PlayStation have to show us at State of Play?

VR bullshit. Fuck off, Sony.

Yeah its crazy. Where i'm at we still have plenty of Series S consoles that have been sitting on the shelves for so long that they are now on sale for a discounted price and are still not moving while all PS4 consoles are sold out and mind you the non pros were all sold out for a higher price than a Series S console.

In any case i'm happy since i've always stuck to PC, have bought a console here and there and never really been tied down to any one platform except PC. I honestly have no use for my consoles right now.
