He’s most likely low IQ but that’s not near as relevant as his environment.
He could absolutely have a functional life if intervention happened early, but it’s most likely not.
These are his formative years and Kim doesn’t give two shits about early intervention or even potty training.

Not only is that lazy, it’s so expensive.
Potty training is frustrating sometimes but letting the child do it when they’re ready is important, and he’s beyond ready.

She would have to be consistent and attentive to make sure he uses the bathroom every 20 minutes to a half hour until he gets it, and be positive while she does it or she’s going to give this poor kid a “you pissed your bed again you’re so fucking stupid” complex.
It’s so sad, he probably hates being in diapers and you know his lazy mom doesn’t change him right away. He’s old enough that he may even have the idea of it down, he just needs someone to follow through for him. He’s going to wind up like Tess Hollidays kid and not potty trained in time for Kindergarten.

How old is he? 4? 5? I'm guessing he doesn't go to school, because no teacher will agree to change diapers in pre-k.
He is 4 and won't be 5 until mid-December, I think.

He's not that far behind yet. Boys do tend to potty train later than girls. Knowing his family and home situation, though, I think it's safe to say he'll still be in Pull-ups next year at this time, unless he gets fed up and potty trains himself, which is possible. Poor kid.

Arkansas has an August 1 cutoff, so he is not eligible for kindergarten until next year. If Kim had a lick of sense, he'd be enrolled in pre-K for the upcoming school year and she'd be working her ass off to get him daytime potty trained before he starts full-day school. A year is a long time when you're a little kid, and if anyone gave a single shit about him he could be ready for kindergarten. Kim doesn't care about Aidean unless she think it will get her money, Dalton's in prison, Kim's mom is a piece of shit, the kid is doomed.

Toilet training requires patience and empathy too. Screaming at a kid nonstop is not conductive to toilet training.
Personal sperg but "Pull-Ups" are a scam. Diaper companies make a killing on them with all the lazy parents out there. It's how they keep you hooked.
In my experience they were useless. I took them away from my kid and bought them real kiddie undies. One nighttime accident later, TRAINED!
A Pull-up is just a bigger diaper. You may have to do laundry but throwing out trainer diapers and buying actual underwear is a good way to start. They do NOT like soiling their undies.

As far as potty training goes, they just have to put him in there as often as possible until it clicks, basically. The fact that he is still in a diaper/pullup at this point is sheer laziness on Kim's part. How old is he? He should have been potty trained by 3 at the latest. He only seems delayed because of his environment, in my opinion. If he had been in school, he would probably be on par with children his age, or very close to it.

And yes, we get parents who are just in it for the free care, but for the most part, they're pretty decent and do care about their child and their education. There are a lot of requirements to have your child in the program, unfortunately working and/or being in school isn't one of them. But that's not the majority, luckily.
Could you tell us what other programs she'd likely be approved for? I'm curious about what else she's leaving on that table.

That's why I was curious about whether Head Start/other special programs could help with potty training more than "normal" school could.

Not sure if it is everywhere but the early education/headstart in my county will help with potty training

Well, due to his delays, whatever they are, he would be evaluated and given an IEP (since he's over 3) for whatever services he is eligible for: speech, PT, OT, Bx, etc. Not sure about Arkansas, but in FL he'd be evaluated by his local school board and could qualify for part-time or full-time at the elementary school he is zoned for. If he were under 3, his eval would be through a early intervention organization and go from there. Had he started in early head start, he could have "graduated" from services by kindergarten if he responded well.

Yes, we do for children with special needs, but in general, children should be potty trained by the time they enter regular head start. Those classrooms aren't equipped to change diapers. Early head start classrooms are working on potty training.

No idea what the fuck Sammie meant here.

Kim did a few boring tiktoks most is just lip synching but in this one Aiden looks dead inside and sick of her shit. Missing trim, holes in the wall, a nice homey redneck touch.

Feels because I love that this is available for kids like Aiden, also feels because Aiden will never see or get the benefits of it.

Yeah, i get ya. It sucks when you're offering these amazing services to children *for free* and parents won't take advantage. It's like, do you want your child to suffer? We had a parent this year, she was very low functioning herself, with a profoundly disabled daughter in addition to the one in head start, and my colleague had to literally read the intake paperwork to her to get the younger one enrolled for speech/language therapy. She also had to walk several blocks with the disabled daughter in tow (her schooling was another issue we tried to help with ugh) to get the little one to school, but she did it, because she knew it was what was best for her child. Then you have fucking Kim and Sammie, who think vaping and gross sex memes are more important than making sure their children have a chance.

Can’t say how I got this, without blowing my cover, but there is
Some Sarge / Tonka beef brewing
Lmfao their rivalry cracks me up, like a kids cartoon villain.

Yeah, and people wonder why kids like Aiden grow up and turn into lazy drug addict criminals.
