On guns:

For sidearms I’d probably go with a Glock 17 or 19. They’re reasonably priced, readily available everywhere, easy to maintain, utterly reliable, and almost every aftermarket part is designed with them in mind. Just consider replacing the iron sights. The stock ones aren’t great unless you get lucky and get one where they put their night sights on it.

For shotguns… most any pump should be fine. Older Remington 870s (their qc apparently went to shit at some point) or one of the many Mossberg 500 variations are a good bet.

For a rifle any AR platform from a reputable company is fine. Smith & Wesson’s are fine. So are Ruger’s. Springfields are a little more expensive but are also a little nicer stock. You can also change out the upper if you want something different than 556.

I agree with all this. And I don't even like glocks or ARs. But they are the most popular for a reason. They work and they are affordable with endless options.

Ive seen bad finishes on newer 870s. Mossman's QC has stayed good and they are still made in connecticut. Mossbergs are so ubiquitous they sell them at Walmart. If you want to get something with bling they sell stainless versions called the Mariner. The Mossberg is the classic american pump action shotgun and also has endless customizing options if you want to get all autistic with it.

Im a simple man and I like simple things. If I could only have one long gun for home self defence situations I would pick a bone stock 18.5" Mossberg 500 with 00buck shells. Anyone comes in your house it will kill them dead. Simple as.

For anyone who didn't keep up with the saga, or doesn't really care about Sprachraum memes and foreign cows, Drachenlord got evicted from his family home due to property neglect and the village hating him for attracting online weirdos. The amount of alogs passing through his tiny village was so high it got the law involved (due to nuisance complaints). It makes me wonder how the people living around Ralph feel about all this insane stuff happening around them, or if they even notice.
