Sony hate thread

So basically PS5 had to come out in 2020 just for Ratchet and Clank?

And the game would literally be unplayable if it wasn't 4K or 60fps?
Not quite. I'm saying the PS5 needed to be released so that developers like Insomniac can have stronger hardware to make games on par with PC.

The bad economy is just a heavy circumstance that Sony not anybody could had predicted.

But the thing is, developers are specifically NOT doing this. Hence all the cross generational shit.

So it really *didn't* need to be released at that time. The argument that consoles needed to be released to keep up with PC is ludicrous as consoles have been holding back PC development for ages and the masses don't give a shit about how much better PC is.

The PS5 just passed it's 20 million sold mark, so the system despite the supply issues was able to reach enough people. If it was 4 to 5 million then yes they should have delayed it.

Sony has gone as far as to help build component factories in Japan to help alleviate the issue

Considering that Playstation has always lasted a long ass time, the predictions that they'll have massive quarters in the future isn't that far fetched. The Playstation 5 will more than likely last just as long as the PS4 did since they're ensuring future systems will support older shit.

No, they can't. They're incremental upgrades. 4K was the focus, not frame rate. The difference is not a big gap.
Correct. It's the CPU that was the crutch, not the GPU's. Series S is the baseline and it should be, not the PS4 Pro & One X. The One X is pretty cool though, I have one for gamepass until a Series X is purchasable in store

Fixed that for you, scalpers don't actually buy games as evidenced by the PS5's low game sales.

You keep making the mistake of thinking I'm saying that they needed to delay it to help business.

I'm saying the thing wasn't needed for the consumer because we can still play the vast majority of games on PS4 2 and a half years in, and the fact that developers are making their games cross generational just means that they are being held back which makes one wonder is 60fps or 4K resolution *really* worth 500+ dollars?

There's not a big gap between the Xbox One X and Series S, either. But, they were a fine stopgap between generations, and were plenty powerful enough to tide anyone over until the end of this year. Come this November, PS4 Pro hits five years and Xbox One X hits four, and that's the traditional length of a console generation. Launching the PS5 and Series X|S in November might have actually made for a big bombastic console launch, as long as the world doesn't fall apart between now and then.

They are incremental upgrades, that's correct! But have you tried playing a more recent Xbox One game on a 2013 Xbox One? I can personally verify that Yakuza 6 and Dragon Quest XI run like unrepentant ass, and may as well have been locked to One X or better. I mean like, I'm glad to have the choice to run them on my old-ass Xbox and enjoy them in all their ass glory, but my point was that they would have been good enough to keep on shelves a little longer while waiting to launch the new consoles.

We're not going to see the fruits of this contract for at least a year of that published date. I've seen more Series S than PS5's new in store. Quite pathetic tbh

The Series S sells far worse than the PS5 so of course we're going to be seeing more of them in stores

My entire life is video games and I have still yet to see a PlayStation 5 in person, apart from store demo displays which may or may not be empty shells with LED lights.

That's because you don't believe in the Snoy faith like Marissa does, obviously. I don't see you embrace Sony, so the Sony hasn't embraced you

It's been nearly two years, and my local Walmart still doesn't even have a PS5 kiosk; they instead have the same PS4 kiosk from like 2013 (out of order, mind you)

In Rift Apart's case, run at all. Insomniac took full advantage of the PS5 hardware to have it run at 4K or 60FPS WITH the SSD doing the heavy lifting b
The Rift Apart portal shit "only being possible with an SSD" is horseshit because plenty of other games have some almost the exact same thing without an SSD.

But I own a shitload of PS3s in various states of disrepair!
See that’s the problem. You have PS3s. To summon a PS5, you need a shitload of PS4 Pros and copies of woke games like The Last of Us 2. That is only step one though. For the second step, you need to bang a trans person and declare all waifu games as crimes against women for their lewd, demeaning content. Finally, you need to make your stand against the evils of this world by claiming your support for LGBT, BLM, and abortion rights. After all that, the PS5 is yours, along with a free copy of the hit Sony film Morbius.

Or you can just be a retard and pay...*checks ebay*...$750-$800 dollars to a scalper.

SSDs affect loading times. Loading times are a lot of things, but generally consist of copying data from storage to RAM for quicker access. That’s why RAM for PC is still hundreds of dollars for just like 32gb, as opposed to like ten bucks for a 32gb microSD.

Xbox Series all support USB HDDs for extra space, and there aren’t any restrictions on what games you can keep on there. You can run whatever you want off of even a slow ass laptop drive from 15 years ago, you’ll just have to deal with terrible loading times.
