Because the Presidency is a poisoned chalice right now for Democrats as she would inherit a complete shit show of a nation and couldn't blame Trump for it because Biden was in charge for enough time to make it his fault.
Also, to paraphrase a quote Lex Luthor once said, you know how much power Kamala gave up to be Biden's token VP? If anything, the second she leaves office Kamala's going to try and get her Senate seat back in her safe Californian district. And I would not be shocked if (((they))) are holding that over Kamala's head as a carrot to keep her in line.

I posted earlier about how they'd maintain the formula shortage on purpose to fuck with the lower class, but that was before they decided to import Chinese rat poison that has just enough nutrition to count as a substitute baby formula. I'm guessing that because the shooting was more politically expedient (and babies are too young for their grooming/deviancy) their lives matter less than those grade schoolers because they're sociopaths.
Counterpoint: There are 'people' in Michigan that call chili dogs/coneys 'coney dogs' and they're allowed to vote like you and me. And they're doing that right now. On the other hand if they just gave them the land Toledo would be their problem...

While Nixon had a lot of public support, the media was a lot smaller back then and a LOT of the media was in the bag for the Democrats/anti-Nixon. And there was no Fox News during Nixon's time, so Nixon was kind of fucked in that he didn't have a media outlet with considerable reach and pull that could carry his water and make his case for him/spin the entire Watergate investigation as a witch hunt.
Nixon ultimately resigned, because the GOP itself informed him that he didn't have the full support of the GOP in Congress and that there was significant amount of Senators who would throw Nixon under the bus in an impeachment vote. And that it would be in the best interest for everyone if he resigned and that Ford would return the favor to Nixon resigning by way of pardoning him.
Nixon could have fought the charges, but folded purely because he couldn't 100% guarantee that he could beat them. And even then, he would still be fucked reputation-wise by being impeached and tried.
But as I said, the GOP was able to go from the fall of Nixon and Ford the lame duck to Raygun Ronnie ruling supreme in the span of half a decade and Nixon himself survived and rehabbed his image better than most expected him to, so it worked out for everyone in the end.

President Biden is planning to visit Saudi Arabia later this month, a remarkable departure from his vow as a presidential candidate to treat the country as a “pariah” state, according to three administration officials who requested anonymity to share details of a trip not yet announced.
The president’s trip to Riyadh follows broader efforts by his administration to build ties with the oil-rich nation to reduce the price of gas in the United States, which has skyrocketed in recent months.
The stop in Saudi Arabia is expected to be added to Biden’s overseas trip later this month, when he will travel to Israel, Germany and Spain, the officials said.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The relationship between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia ruptured after the 2018 killing of Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist and outspoken critic of the Saudi government. American intelligence has concluded that Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince and de facto leader, ordered the killing of Khashoggi.
“We were going to in fact make them pay the price, and make them in fact the pariah that they are,” Biden said of Saudi Arabia during a Democratic debate in 2019.
He added there is “very little social redeeming value in the present government in Saudi Arabia.”
Now Biden’s trip is likely to raise fresh doubts of the Biden administration’s promise to keep human rights at the center of its foreign policy, given Saudi Arabia’s history of abuses, particularly toward women.
During his trip, the president is expected to meet with Mohammed, the officials said, a face-to-face visit that is the culmination of half a dozen discreet visits to the Saudi Kingdom over the last two years by his top Middle East adviser, Brett McGurk, and his special envoy for energy affairs, Amos Hochstein.
The two men traveled again to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates last week to advance a range of issues, including a presidential visit and an increase in oil production amid soaring energy prices and rising inflation that have hampered the president’s approval ratings, said a U.S. official, who like others spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive diplomatic details.
The decision about whether to grant a presidential visit to the crown prince divided members of the Biden administration, many of whom preferred to keep the oil-rich autocracy at a distance after former president Donald Trump’s remarkably close rapport with the kingdom, which infuriated human rights advocates.
But advocates for keeping close ties with Riyadh ultimately won out after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24.
The conflict’s impact on oil and gas prices exacerbated the Biden administration’s concerns about its relationship with Saudi Arabia, which had repeatedly rebuffed U.S. requests to increase oil production.
A meeting with Mohammed was eventually seen as a necessary act of realpolitik to lower energy prices and inflation, despite a campaign promise to further isolate Riyadh. Whether the move will substantially lower the price of oil is far from clear.
The member nations of OPEC+ announced Thursday that the group would add 648,000 barrels per day in July and August, a modest acceleration of plans that were already in motion to reverse drawdowns related to the pandemic. The boost in production came amid pressure from the White House for OPEC+ to do more to fill the gap created by sanctions on Russia. But the decision is seen by many energy analysts as only having a modest impact, and whether further production increases happen over the summer remains unclear.
The Biden administration and Democrats' efforts to all but go to war with Saudi Arabia is the clearest example of how absolutely fucking unmoored from reality the party has become. There's a reason we've been chummy with the Sauds' since the 1970s in spite of how backwards the kingdom is - as one of the largest oil producers in the world, they control the price of petroleum. Either explanation is reason enough for the lot of them to have been voted out yesterday.

edit: Saudi Arabia should make Joepedo say Kashiogi deserved to be killed before pumping more oil for the US, he was their rallying cry for years. I don't like SA but don't be a fucking idiot to the country when they have had the greatest chance of real reform in years and you don't want to scare them off.

You're not missing anything. Nothing in that statement suggests that they want to investigate any specific DHS members who responded to the shooting, much less punish them. I'm not sure if DHS has ever been involved in handing a school shooting before Uvalde.

the amount of additional oil from saudi arabia is set in the hundreds of thousands of barrels but America alone uses 20 million a day. these OPEC countries aren't going to bail out the Suicide Squad that our Western "leaders" are. The Saudis want to send the minimum for the extracted maximum of plummeting Western currency as well as a bunch of juicy business deals and military aid. OPEC literally has the West over the barrel again.
