a dedicated group or even a lone wolf could do a lot of damage if they get their hands on them. Hell some mook sitting by an airport could get a three digit kill count if they hit a passenger plane just right.
Maybe that's exactly what they wanted. Whoops, someone smuggled in a Stinger or Javelin, blew up an airliner or some shit, now we need to institute stricter airport regulations and take away your guns.
The glow potential, globally, has skyrocketed.

He's also got a fairly reliable l e track record as a moderate, which makes it so ludicrous that they went so hard in trying to cancel him.
There is no single deciding vote anymore, I don't get why this is hard for people to understand.

Before, Roberts was the deciding vote because he was such a damn flip flopper that any SCOTUS case was argued at him and only him. It was assumed all conservatives would vote one way, all liberals another way, and RINO-Cuck Roberts would be the only one whose vote mattered. That is -why- there even was -a- deciding vote.

That. Does. Not. Apply. Any. More.

Now that the court is no longer 4/4 with a single deciding vote any case before them has to argue now for two or more of the conservative votes to swap over.
Kavanaugh, Roberts, and Barret are the most likely to cross, with Breyer, Gorsuch, and Alito being possible ones on certain pet topics.

I want Islamic Content just to rate every post that features hopefully future Senator Doctor "MAGA Mehmet" Oz, the Sultan of the Caliphate of Pennsylvania.

Each of them has pet topics where they're fairly consistent, but Kavanaugh definitely has more of a Kennedy streak to him.

Also, Roberts is a liberal.
I wish. Roberts being a liberal would be -less- awful. No, he is a conservative the problem is the absolute cancer that is his Judicial Philosophy.

Let me describe the 'joys' that is his philosophy of Judicial Deference. With this philosophy he believes that the goal and purpose of SCOTUS is not only to not rock the boat, but to always and every time defer to the wishes of those in power. Believing, sincerely, that SCOTUS has absolutely no purpose or reason to stop the other branches of government from performing their function.

Now, if you know thing fucking one of what "Balance of Powers" means, then his judicial philosophy should -horrify- you. I respect -Kagan- More than I respect Roberts,

That right there is a shocking statement on how badly politicized the SC has become.

It always was political, of course, but it's an incredibly bad sign of the deterioration of the SC.
Na, this is (sadly) not new. Marbury v. Madison was a very political ruling, and Taney in the Dred Scott case was persuaded to rule so decisively in favor of slavery by various private letters from James Buchanan.
I agree. Kavanaugh is reasonably unprincipled and establishment R. He's shown that he's willing to twist things to make sure that certain people get what they want.
Still better than Merrick Fucking Garland who struggles to answer questions from Congress thanks to all the jizz pouring out of his mouth.

The problem then being that he thinks that the NYT is "those in power" impo.

They could buck all expectations and rule against the Democrats on both, but that would signal a pretty profound shift in SCOTUS.
They could always do narrow rulings on the gun stuff if they want to side with 2A and not cause a big fuss. I mean, the Roe v. Wade draft ruling was very unexpected.

It’s the natural endpoint of politics as cult. At some point all this shit will dovetail into a charismatic preacher spiking the flavoraid with rat poison, metaphorically. I’m not sure whether I’ll be sad at the sheer meaningless destruction of it all or relieved that maybe something can get done for once.

Probably both. No use agonizing over it either way.
