is there any appropriate thread for local happenings? there was a drag story hour in my local library a while back, so i'm wondering if more local stuff should be posted. i know the uk has had a few things happening recently, like the Family Sex Show.

The outrage is still there it just passes from center attention more quickly because the people who do it don't turn around, call everyone bigots for noticing and then keep doing it while waving pride flags, they usually either get dealt with or the church hides them away.

Priests are always male, so if a priest molests a boy, then the priest is gay, by definition.

Even when you try to deflect by attacking Christians, you can’t help but reveal that your own community is full of child molesters. Why should we only care about homosexual pedophiles who have a specific job, instead of all of them?

Drag Queen Mama G videotaped teaching schools kids how to twerk during school’s library story hour​

A video has leaked showing a United Kingdom drag queen teaching children how to “twerk” and sexually-suggestive dance during the school’s library story hour.

Mama G is a cross-dressing man and drag artist who “has appeared at libraries, theatres, bookshops and cafes all over the UK,” according to the Petite Pantos theater company.

Devon Libraries promoted his Story Hour events in North Devon as “sharing tales that celebrate being who you are & loving who you want.”
The video is from the Drag Queen Story Hour events, showing Mama G explaining and demonstrating before an audience of children how to twerk.

“All you need to do is you just need to stand with your feet sort of shoulder-width apart like so…and then you crouch down in this sort of position, so you’re bump’s sticking out,” Mama G says, briefly looking back to ask someone off-camera if they’re “taking this all in.” And “then you just move your bum up and down like that. And that’s twerking.”

Numerous parents and other concerned citizens have spoken out against the performance, Devon Live reports.

“Wholly inappropriate for children,” one said, asking Devon Libraries “what on earth were you thinking.” Another asked, “On what planet do you think this sexualized womanface act is appropriate for young children?”

Libraries Unlimited, the charity that runs Devon Libraries, responded with a statement that didn’t address the specific objections, but insisted it was “committed to ensuring our libraries are welcoming, safe and inclusive places for all,” that it is taking its “responsibilities very seriously,” and had performed a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on Mama G.

After the controversy broke out, Mama G changed his Twitter profile so only approved followers can see it, but not before critics saved screenshots – including one of a tweet in which Mama G appears to ask children to send him their email addresses.

“You could always do some Mama G inspired arts and crafts!” he says. “If you want one of my colouring sheets for a rainy day, DM me your email!” Suffolk Libraries UK later put out a statement that Mama G claims the message was intended only for parents.

Drag Queen Storytime events around the world have drawn controversy for both the sexual and gender-fluid themes they promote to children, as well as for the individuals they’ve put in close proximity to children, such as convicted sex offenders, radicals, pornographic skits.

"Mama G" is apparently one of the "panto dames" UK users keep mentioning. Here is his Facebook page. And his...holy shit my eyes my bloody eyes...personal website. And Insta. The Devon Council defended his performance (archive) :

Cllr Muhammed Butt said he was “delighted” to welcome Mama G to the council to promote this year’s ‘summer reading challenge’.

Mama G is a panto dame and drag queen who specialises in storytelling. Her shows are described as suitable for families, including children aged three and above.
But the council faced some online criticism following the launch event, with some describing it as “poor judgment” and “disrespectful”.
The performer has previously been criticised for teaching children how to ‘twerk’ – a dance involving hip-thrusting movements – at similar library events.
Cllr Butt tweeted that Mama G’s performance contained “age-appropriate messages about inclusion and acceptance”.
“We pride ourselves on the respect and love we have for others and the passion we have for equality,” he wrote.
“We work with all communities and will always make sure that welcome is extended to all.
“Panto dames have been part of British culture for over a century. It was a public event, so parents could choose whether or not to bring their child along.
“We have long championed inclusion and diversity and will continue to do so.”

Another deleted story about "Mama G" describes him as the "drag queen who farts glitter." Potty humor on its own is a very normal thing for kids, but putting them together with twerking lessons and fudgepackers and it takes a different tone.

From this we learn that his real name is Robert Pearce, for whatever that's worth.

Use this opportunity to utilize the "ignore" feature for any poster who claims twerking is not sexual or is somehow ok for kids. "It's just like hopscotch!" etc.
