If they try an IP ban you can just use a VPN.

While that would be funny, yeah, if the containment boards go away, the posters there would just stick to 4chan rather than go to Twitter.

It's literally just pictures with links to images in the data afaik. These pictures get deleted often, so after a while the links end up useless anyway.

You can even do it yourself, open a png in notepad and change a random part of the gibberish to a link. Not all data is equally important, you may just remove a small bit of the picture and no one will notice.

This is how it works:

With the PEE extension, I found this pic in a shantae thread with "secret" images:

If you download the main shantae png, on the left, and open it in notepad, it shows this in the data:
1654457024280.png

These are the embedded links to the images. The PEE extension checks pics for catbox links, and displays whatever it links to. But once these images get deleted, the links become useless anyway.

They can also ban you by banning your pass or banning your tripcode. I think one of the more interesting things about this GPT bot is that despite posting tens of thousands of posts, it never got its pass banned. In other words, the bot actually grasped rules and what was acceptable to say. Even on /pol/ you will get banned for overtly breaking rules.

Pretty retarded that 4chan's servers accept hundreds of posts per minute from one single 4chan pass. Makes it the easiest cheapest choice for anyone seeking to bot 4chan.
But the site is technologically decrepit in every way so I guess it's unsurprising.
