How are you doing? - Kiwi Farms Wellness Check

Going straight back to my teen hood in a virtual machine

My coworker complained about it being too hot, so I bought him a banana milkshake when I went out to buy coffee for myself.

I don't think I've ever seen someone so happy about receiving a surprise milkshake. This grown-ass man was sitting there, wiggling his feet like a little kid. Really made my day.

I'm caught up in some very nasty end of relationship drama between two of my friends, and unfortunately I cannot extricate myself from it. On this side, she should have cleaned this up months, if not years ago and now it's come back to bite her. On the other side, he's a first class, narcissistic arsehole. I'm just waiting for her to arrive, and then I'm going to drive her over to his place to confront him because he's not answering his phone.

I really don't want to do this, and certainly don't want to be involved in this. These two are in their fifties, ffs!

EDIT: Couple hours later. We went over to his place, and I sent her inside and sat on the patio while they cleared it up. I firmly did not listen in, but from what I gather, there were extensive apologies made and reassurance given. Later he and I shook hands and determined that there were no hard feelings on either side of us two. He's an arsehole, but I do genuinely like the man when he's not being an arsehole.

All in all that unholy mess ended a hell of a lot better than it had any right to.

And I still think that the pair of them are way too old for this shit.

Took an epic nap after catching up on some yard work. I'm getting an ear infection, and since I had one earlier this year, I put some antibiotic drops I had in. I just wanted to lay down for 30 minutes or so, and let the drops do their thing. I slept 8 hours, waking up to my husky jumping right on my nuts, and I don't even blame him. My dogs are used to eating on time, and they were both hungry, bitchy little shits. What a way to wake up. I don't even sleep 8 hours on a normal night. It's gonna take a lot of coffee today to try to normalize my sleep schedule again.

Small blog post.
Today started out crappy, and having to deal with a couple of really vicious phonies didn't help. Anyhow without them knowing I managed to pull out like 4 coups today and recovered the day, thank God.

The big thing though is I had a gut feeling to go through my regular work files and see if I could zip / rar the unnecessary stuff for a while for easier backups. Looking through really old files I found the only photo left in existence of my bestest kitty I ever had. From stories, the little fur ball saved my bacon once. Legitimately saved my life. Can't show the photo or describe him because it would send up a big ass flare to some people who don't like me in a really nasty way. Seeing the little kitty treat muncher many years after he passed away from horrible circumstances and I wasn't allowed to be there for him... I'm starting to feel a little more red in my black heart. I thought every last photo of the little guy was lost forever. Now I've got one.
Some days I really miss him.

Indulge my mood once more, for an old man's sake:
If I was a drinker, I'd pour one out for the little guy. He deserved a lot better than what others did to him.

Wasn't supposed to rain today, but it did, and I had my top down. Mildly annoying, but whatever. Also had another job interview today. It went well, but now I have a follow-up with another company tomorrow. Probably going to have a make a decision on which by Friday. Kicked it afterward and went shopping.

Are you able to find out about the companies from past and present employees wrt culture - like holidays/sick time/how they treat their staff/training and promotions etc?

As for me.. FINALLY got my date for the procedure I need to stop my GI system being the world's biggest bastard

i just gifted my friend a game on steam, i feel generous
I got X4 in a Humble Bundle deal a few weeks ago. I already had all the other games in the series, and they came in the bundle. Only bought it for X4.

If you want a copy of anything from the original X game through to X Rebirth (X3 is the best of all those I think) drop me a DM. Your kindness will be rewarded.

Edit: it will literally just be a code I give you. Don't have to know your Steam account or any dox.

Depression is bad. Crying out of nowhere. New meds are not working, obviously. I'll be seeing the doctor on Friday, thankfully.
Sometimes antidepressants have 'adjustment periods' when you start taking them where you feel like shit for x amount of time; but it gets better after you're used to them. I obviously don't know when you started taking them, but I hope you feel better soon.

Didn't sleep very well last night. Woke up feeling like shit, but still went to the gym and worked out for a few hours despite not feeling much motivation. On the way home, I feel that old familiar tickle, this time on my neck-bed bug. Probably hitched a ride on my duffel bag this morning when I left. Gross. Get home, and find another on my hand while I'm typing an email to my sister. Kill it, see my own blood. Stomach did a big old barrel roll, damn near puked. I'm supposed to be doing DMT tonight with a friend who's been making the stuff himself and he says he finally nailed a winning method that resulted in improved potency, so I'm looking forward to that. Maybe I'll feel better after. I can't fucking wait until I can move. Probably won't be for awhile, given the near total lack of availability/affordability in my area, but something's got to give sooner or later.

Make sure you put every single thing you own through a couple hours of at least 118 degrees F. Or just throw away anything you can't. Luckily for clothes you can just put them in a dryer for a couple hours. That is, if you actually have them in your house, which you'll certainly notice if they are.
