Economically, I think we are under fascism now. Fascism is government control of corporate means of production. It seems we have that. However, the other moral control part is missing. Fascism is not about moral degeneracy whatsoever. So, I can't completely argue we live under fascism because our society is still so insanely decadent and not even old school Commies would not tolerate the shit that is going on now. I have no idea what to call our current governance, but definitely not democracy or even a real republic.

It is reverse. Corporations and rich own the government, not the other way around.
The two are merged, but the (((tail))) is wagging the (Hill)dog.

That's what I'd think, but, there's just too many of them. It's like people trying to explain away the church fires in Europe and Canada the past few years as "lol they're old what do you expect" when some of them were shit like "Hey lets hire muzzies to rennovate them" and "we investigated for 5 minutes and found nothing wrong don't ask questions and stop filming the muzzies cheering and dancing in front of the fire, it's a hate fact."
Here in America is just because we have so many churches that a lot of them tend to get neglected and sold off or some of the buildings just catch fire and collect insurance you know Lord works in mysterious ways

Gas price update from the US West. $4.80 for basic-bitch regular, $5.70 for diesel. The first one makes me mad, but that second one is downright disturbing. Also, probably related in a general sense, I'm starting to see "Certain low cost items are excluded from Prime Expedited Shipping" stickers popping up on random small, cheap, lightweight shit on Amazon. I saw that happen occasionally during the peak stupidity in 2020, but now it's turning back up again. Do not like.

If the internet isn't lying to me, it seems that Amazon has implemented what they call "invitation-based ordering" to try and curb bot purchasing, or so it is claimed. That might be a facet of it, or one of the general rot that seems to be spreading in most public sector/government apparatus since the coof, or even Amazon just being a bunch of scumfucks as usual.

Whole chicken should stay stable for a lot longer, the average person would be at a complete loss to try and butcher and portion it, so it shouldn't see as much demand climb. The smart among them might cook them whole then strip them to the bone afterwards for use, but most people are low effort cooks and won't go that far.
Says you whole chickens haven't been regularly stocked at places like Sam's Club

I fired up my PS4 for the first time in years and there was an announcement from Sony I could enter a free lottery for a chance to buy a PS5.

They've been doing that since a few months after launch.
They're still not really available regularly.
Video cards are almost back down to MSRP and available now, maybe a few more months.
Raspberry Pis and Microcontrollers, not so much.

Gas dropped to like 4.09 memorial day weekend. Then shot up 40 cents throughout the week. Paid 4.49 a gallon yesterday.
This called Demand Destruction. Everyone is going to get lessons on esoteric economic terms for events during a collapsing economy. I know I am. Not really sure how we will get out of it unless the politicians decide to stop punishing the people who live in America for breathing air or another country decides to export their economy to ours for “credit”.

Politicians in the states are so detached from reality I'm not sure they could come up with solutions. I just remember that video of Pelosi showing us her 30 USD (pre inflation) ice cream and her entire damn fridge filled with them.

The average price of milk and bread used to be a part of the press briefing for the President whenever there was a press function, specifically so they wouldn't look out of touch. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess they don't bother anymore.

Well duh, they want people to be tracking the price of almond milk and fried cicada skins instead. Why would they encourage the environmental irresponsibility of milk and bread?

To be more serious, that role was replaced by the whole Consumer Price Index idea, which has degraded to the point of uselessness from manipulations to make sure it looks good. The adjustments that were ment to allow it to account for shrinkflation and other matters have been used to lead to distorted views of actual 'common' spendings.

That is one silver lining to all of this. I’ve managed to get a handle preparing dozens of new recipes the last two years to the point where I can make a solid meal out of almost anything. And with spices that I only have to buy once every 6 months at most. I definitely wouldn’t have considered broadening my horizons like this if my wallet didn’t get squeezed.

I was on the phone with my mother weeks ago, talking about me experimenting with some rice and beans recipes, and she was straight up worried I'd gone bankrupt or something. The idea of having money and still eating cheap just doesn't click for some people.

But, soon enough I imagine people will start to realize that you can make good soup outta just about anything.

Sucks if you can't find a Switch, tho.
Oh my god get off Kiwi Farms you Soy Consoomer Faggot.

I am kidding, but holy shit do some of the Video Game playing people around here act like that if you don't loathe Nintendo and everything it ever did.

$6.99 for a pound of chuck roast. Holy fucking shit.

At least Nintendo doesn’t publish wokeshit like Sony.
