Strange, there's nobody called Wendell at LMG so I'm assuming it's something Wendell at Level1Techs leftover on their UniFi controller as he has worked with these guys in the past. I'll laugh if it turns out later that they're contracting people like Wendell as consultants because they're too retarded to configure a L2 managed switch with a web GUI.

Big ZFS arrays is right up Wendell's alley too, so he might've even made some of the technical decisions regarding RAID-Z levels, vdevs and the hardware purchasing if he was quietly consulted for this.
If they have trouble with Unifi guis, I can't imagine how they'd deal with Mikrotik.

"sounds just technical enough"
That implies that GN isn't technical and is only pretending to be technical. Do you recommend any channels that are actually "technical"? Because AFAIK Gamers Nexus is the most in-depth hardware review channel around right beside Hardware Unboxed.
I don't watch YouTubers. As said before, I was a much bigger fan of sites like JonnyGuru that really dove into the nuts and bolts.

But short attention spans killed that off. If there was a channel that broke cards down piece by piece that could be interesting.

Check the OP, he posted about the benefits of racemixing on the LTT twitter.

I'm 95% sure his wife only got with him because he has money. Also this entire post aggravates me because it's like he's trying to justify something. If you want asian poon then do it & shut the fuck up about it.

which once again proves my arguement that these are just on screen grifters with only a very basic level of actually useable IT knowledge.
And yet he has such a large staff which proves my argument that he doesn't pay them shit. No wonder they helped him move. He probably promised them 50 bucks a piece and that's a whole day's salary for a few hours work, so get your asses out to Linus Mansion!

Probably trying to compensate for how ugly his wife is. I bet people send him comments about it.

The sad thing is even if he wants a divorce, he's fucked. The wife knows where all the assets are and could probably put stuff in her name without him even knowing about it. Then he'd just cuck and virgin-walk away with nothing. Start a podcast and patreon where he'd be obviously bitter but won't say anything negative about his ex-wife so he takes it out on anyone who doesn't lick his balls.

I remember he also said that Yvonne basically the reason that LTT is still around and he's the one that replaceable.

He said it here
EDIT: Starts at 13:20

Also I think he understands that eventually LTT will become another soulless corporation, but seems to not be bothered by it.

What it really shows is how disposable Linus himself always was. He could kill himself tomorrow like Grant Thompson, the 'King of Random' channel guy did, after the feds charged him for lighting firecrackers in his backyard, and his chinkwife would find some random guy with a better jaw line to carry the channel on, probably a whole lot better than Grant's fill-in's have done since he flew into a cliff at 60mph to stop the feds from taking his kids livelihood away.
Do you believe that he really offed himself and it wasn't an accident? Where'd this firecracker story come from?

It was something a little more potent than firecrackers, and the feds wanted to put him away for 15 years. I see apparently that he took a plea bargain, which I hadn't been aware of, which does suggest that it probably was an accident after all.

You internet daddy doesn't care about you. It's ok to stop felating Steve Burke's cock.

True but I haven't really seen him promoting it as much as he acts like a seething faggot over the piracy incident. I think Yvonne is one who manages the employees and business so at least she's a useful rat wife.

It's interesting that out of all the attractive asian women out there, who retain their youthful appearance until menopause, he chose the one woman who got hit with the ugly stick early. I don't blame her for avoiding the camera. She did show up in the recent videos with their pet, the fat faggot Jake, though. Has anyone doxed the new house btw?

At this point, I think the LTT crew know they're all secondhand "professionals" with expensive toys, so the lab is just a way to profit without hiring actual entertaining talent. It's basically the Rich Rebuilds method of maintaining interest becsuse their bread and butter is not paying the bills. Doing expensive, quirky shit unprofessionally and for whatever reason attract viewership by demonstrating how they antagonize their spouses. "oh no muh wife is mad again haha"
That gets me to in one of their videos they did a tour of their workshop and its one hell of a playground that they have done nothing interesting with except cut out some computer cases and what not. Like you could just get some kids from an engi class at uni and some people who are industrial technics they would have a field day there producing cool stuff. Easy profit and you could even turn it in to a partnership. Uni's are always looking for a place to have their students get some real life experince.

It's not just their workshop is underutilized, it's that it seems like their workshop was nearly funded via sponsorship too from the canadian equivalent of Granger:

I wonder if that supplier is hating themselves, an albertan pro-canada company giving supplies to soyfaced cucks in vancouver who just hire foreign labor, and it's just sitting there while they grow their pedo staches.

I'm in agreement with all that the show is overproduced and shillfest while only surface level interesting.

The last time I watched LTT was over the RED storage expose where they did call out RED for overpricing proprietary SD cards. What are all those expensive 8K RED cameras for anyway? Consumers don't really bother with over 1080p and I wonder what's the point of saving thousands of hours of useless footage. Even the digital hoarder in me knows all that stuff is disposable.

Nigga, it's Youtube. They're all monkeys dancing for our free entertainment. If you wanted accurate hardware reviews, you're not going to find it on a Youtube channel that unironically calls masking tape and a razor blade "schlieren imaging" tests and doesnt read product manuals to see how to properly open exotic PC cases.

Let's play a game called "spot the autistic parrots who dont like RGB because daddy Steve said RGB bad, RGB malware". In 2018, there really was a grave security exploit in various motherboard and RGB softwares. The security exploit was patched out before Gamers Nexus uploaded their video and it was a physical-only exploit. Muh ethical journalist claims to this day never to install RGB softwares. At least Linus Tech Tips has made a joke out of RGB and recognizes modern PC builders want the aesthetic appeal of lights.

If you want in-depth, try Anandtech. Gamers Nexus already grabs info from them and various other hardware news sites. Leave the entertainment and wishywashy rig tests to the likes of Youtubers like JayzTwoCents, Linus Tech Tips, Gamers Nexus, etc.

I dont think there's any shame watching Gamers Nexus HW news segments, for the record. You might find LTT's WAN show to be an alternate perspective of Gamers Nexus because Linus is a useful bumpkin sometimes. (For example: recently, Steve bashed Dell's CAMM simply for being proprietary whereas Linus's team had more secret info about the project moving towards open source and therefore good for consumers.) Just keep yourself open.

Do you always get unreasonably mad whenever a YouTuber tries to do a funny?
Only when retards try to assert their dumpy Reddit father is professionally credible, ethical, and could do no wrong.

I don't bother with anything over 720p, 480p is fine most of the time, but I imagine even someone as shameless as George Lucas will look back at the Star Wars prequels that he shot in slightly-less-than 1080p and think 'I wish I'd given myself more leeway for future technological improvements'.

Even if you assume that most people won't ever go over 2K, if you can shoot the same scene from slightly wider in 8K for final output in 2-4K, that gives you a bit of room to cut and maybe even pan around a bit without needing to rely quite so much on your cameraman to get it 100% right for each expensive shot.

At the risk of seeming like a nuisance to everyone in this thread, I'll give my two cents on this. I promise i'll fuck off.

Gamers Nexus does tear downs. Violent ones. The lad took out a dremel for the Playstation 5 controller "disassembly" video. IIRC, Gamers Nexus dismantles video cards, game consoles, game console accessories, and barebones computers (like the Intel NUC).

Gamers Nexus:

Once upon a time, however, Gamers Nexus teamed up with Buildzoid (Actually Hardcore OverClocking is his Youtube) for piece by piece analysis of motherboards. Buildzoid used to work in motherboard manufacturing so he has credentials to deliver details down to the chips. You're not going to get that level of quality from Gamers Nexus Steve besides "yep, that's a mosfet. Now let's see what our multiple Patricks have to say about this..." The Patricks: "shieeet"

Actually Hardcore Overclocking:

You might find some interest in Louis Rossman when he takes time to stop pretending to be Jordan Peterson and make repair videos. Rossman is good for keeping up with Right to Repair laws in the United States of course, but he also does a lot of work with Apple computers at his repair shop.

Lastly, if you're a single board computer (SBC) type of person, I also recommend Explaining Computers who adores them, RISCV, x86, and ARM. Also a good channel for learning about computers and Linux if you are brainlet. Very old school person who talks slowly, concisely, and responds to comments on new videos.

Call me schizophrenic, but I feel that when a person has these left-leaning pro-trans views and also grows out long hair, they are well on their way onto becoming a tranny. For example the guy from Technology Connections. He has those libleft views, even has pronouns in his Twitter bio, and he grew out his hair. Him and Anthony seem to me like people who are about to troon out at any second.

Please no. I might be retarded but I have a soft spot for that guy and how into the weeds he gets. Please don't troon out weird heat pump obsessed guy.

He strikes me as the type of person to constantly talk about how much money he makes. "Haha well I can afford it!" Just the way he treats his employees and the gear he's lucky to have.
"Sorry about the lower than usual bonus. Linus dropped a prototype RTX 4070 on the ground and we gotta pay that back now"

Also, it's annoying to me that as big and progressive as Linus is, he doesn't give two shits about the e-waste generated. That's the one place where I become a bit of an environmentalist. When stuff ends up in landfill over idiocy or willfully making tech that can't be reused or is pointless

Technology Connections is a decent channel tbh. People just need to stop freaking out as soon as they see a fat person who's a little more progressive/lefty than they'd like. His content is decent, he clearly puts a lot of work to it, and I find myself watching it cause his videos kinda give me the vibe of "that one mate who is so into something so specific that they can tell you all about it and you go away learning like twelve different interesting things about a subject you gave zero shits about at the start".

Also it seems like whenever the environment gets bought up, it's from the point of view of "here's small things you can choose to do to help" or "here's a change that can actually see results", rather than the usual drivel of "just ban something and see if that helps"
