I have never met a Catholic who said priests molesting boys is a good thing, at most I've seen them deny it happens. On the other hand, I've known multiple gay men who explicitly said grooming is a necessary part of gay culture. Considering I know a lot more Catholics than gays, that's pretty damning.
And maybe parents should stop doing shit like beating and disowning their kids for being gay, or even just nonconforming to gender stereotypes
I can't speak on catholics but like half the people I know with fundie parents got molested, or know someone who did. Vast majority of the time the pedo was never even reported.

I personally didn't, as fucked as my parents were they at least weren't fundies, but yeah that's more or less what happened to a good chunk of my friend circle. A lot of these independent fundamentalist Baptist churches are literally cults, like they meet the criminal definition and everything, its just no one locally gives a shit since everyone in power on the local level is either a fundie or sympathetic to them.
