Dunno where else to put this as there's no page for dog woo. A friend who's already a Bowen therapist for animals which is complete woo in itself is about to branch out into a new form of animal therapy.

The animal picks its own herbal remedy. You just let it sniff a bunch of plants and the one it "chooses" using its magical animal instincts is what it gets. This is extremely sound and ethical practice and definitely couldn't result in an animal being poisoned or made sicker.

Probably costs more per session than the fucking vet. It's literally £35 to see a vet ffs.

My dog would just pick trash or manure-covered woodchips. This would then result in an even higher vet bill. But you know, new therapy or something I guess.

My best friend told me how their toy terrier's sire literally ate enough dried apricot to enter diabetic coma and die. Dogs eat first and think second.

Dogs will literally eat anything if you let them. Once had a dog, when I was really young, that would snatch food right out of your hand if you were close enough. Could be chocolate, chips, a steak, you name it, she ate it. Had another that would steal/sneak and then eat plastic bags. Their menu is endless.

Another guy at the park told me how his dog once ate a small-sized tennis ball. Someone left it there, his dog scooped it, then gulp. Ended up with a huge vet bill after having to take the poor thing in.

Heck, as much as people criticize the Galar fossils for being cruel, my chompy boy Dracovish is shown to have a much better quality of life than any of these dogs. First of all, in camp mode, he is seen running around carefree and can keep up with you when you play with him while these dogs can't, not only that but he is actually useful as Pokemon and pretty powerful with this fishous rend attack causing the autists at Smogon to ban him while these things fail as companion dogs.

A really good youtube channel is Munchie's Place, she owns a small rodent rescue that takes in mice, gerbils, hamsters, and sometimes guinea pigs and rats and she made a video about ethical breeding. Basically, a big difference between ethical breeders and not is that ethical breeders aren't in it for the money. These bulldog breeders obviously are.

Even though this is about hamsters, this still very much applies to any species of animal.

I haven't looked into guinea pig care since I was a youngling but as far as I know, Skinny pigs are generally healthy but you just have to ensure they don't get cold. A lot of hairless pets are fucked but these guys should be ethical to own.

I could be totally wrong but feel free to correct me. A quick google search didn't reveal any horrifiying secrets on them either.

Guinea pig sperg and can confirm. They do have issues regulating temperature and need to be kept warm.
Anecdotally, they apparently eat more than regular guinea pigs and feel very warm to the touch. They're probably burning more energy to keep warm.

There's also 2 types of "skinny pig" - the "baldwin" which has no fur at all and the regular skinny that has some fuzz on its nose.

The phenotype just sort of emerged in a lab colony of Hartley (not related) Guinea Pigs. There was then a good bit of effort applied to making sure the strain was relatively healthy because hairless animals are extremely useful for anything involving dermatology. My assumption is then someone ended up taking one home and other people got interested to the point where they began to be bred for non-research purposes.

There is SO MUCH untapped milk in the animal rescue community.

A lot of them are absolutely INSANE. I respect what they do in some high risks areas but sometimes they just fuck things up more.

And that's just the genuine animal rescue. Don't even get me started on the staged "animal rescue" genre. It's bizarre in the same way Elsagate is/was, with many of the creators being foreign and the videos following the same formula. Only there's an added layer of horror because there's real animal abuse going on. Fake baby monkey rescue is an ongoing popular type of video made primarily by southeast Asian channels involving baby macaques taken from monkey troops that hang around touristy areas like temples etc. to be fed by humans, then treated like human babies by their "rescuers". From there the "baby monkey abuse" rabbit hole is a whole other can of worms.

Fake rescues are a scam to pull money but yeah, it’s horrifying because animals in south east Asia have it hard enough already as it is.

My horror stories about genuine rescue are mostly about psychotic volunteers with insane demands. Or, worse, refuse to put to sleep animals who are in dire and grave conditions because muh life is life.
