What Video caused you to stop watching a Youtuber?

There is a very popular YT'er who I am going off more as time goes on, he's not as obviously up his own arse as people in other youtube spheers but he's gotten that was and his videos are less cool and intresting stuff put up on the tinternet but feel like low effort content compared to what he used to do - and it's kinda sad as his content was used to be funny, educational and useful but it's now just - pisstake do something not explain it joke, injoke and dig at his friend, try it again and not explain it - fuck off for a beer.

Why did people sub to him in the first place? Maybe he had some good takes and seemed alright, but he always sounded like a fucking bored dude talking.
This guy always sounds the same, which is putting me to sleep.
Nostalgia, for me. Used to think his playthroughs were pretty funny, then he started taking himself way too seriously.

His climate change video was good. He's a teacher IRL so it was educational, not political.

Well, the jokes weren't very funny but it's the best video I've seen explaining the science behind it in an easily understandable but comprehensive way.
I watched a few of his earlier videos but his quality is up and down (in my opinion).

He was a teacher but he quit to do YouTube full time. I had a look at his twitter. He keeps pinching his wife's cosmic space leggings and is a bit woke. Also got his nose pierced now too. Non binary to Full Troon arc soon?

JustSomeGuy was good for coming at a different angle about the SJW infestation in comics and media. But he seems scared to admit he isn't as liberal as he was, so has just been getting worse and worse trying to find a way to shit on anti-SJWs because he doesn't want to be seen as being conservative or simply not as liberal. He had issues trying to put together points about Marvel making Punisher some gunless bitch with a new logo, or school boards removing Maus from required reading.

His most recent video ignores everything about the anti-grooming bill in Florida to just run with the spin on it that it's republicans bashing gays, and instead criticizes Disney for being hypocrites. Try the road less traveled.
It's fucking weird how much he changed. He changed in 2020 when cuties came out and he has been trying to rebrand himself. He reminds me a lot of Amazing Lucas who ironically in 2020, said some stupid shit and is trying to rebrand himself as well. It seems like 2020 broke a lot of people.

Spacedock made some interesting analysis of scifi ships. Then we went full virtue signal over BLM in the above video. Blocked comments too, because of course. His Twitter was toxic in retarded TDS takes too back when he did it.

He started making his regular stuff right after, but I rarely ever bother with it anymore.

There's a few notable ones for me:

Cr1tikal/penguinz0: I was subbed to him way back before his face reveal, when he just did commentary over shitty indie horror games or obscure/weird vidya. It was a nice little niche, his monotone way of speaking was strangely refreshing compared to most tubers who were over the top at the time. Plus he was relatively unknown, and seemed like a humble guy. This all changed after his face reveal, which didn't bother me at first. (Although I vastly preferred not knowing what he looked like, it was more fun that way). He gradually stopped doing what I originally liked him for, and started doing reaction and drama videos with the most boogie2988 milquetoast takes on everything. I think the nail in the coffin was the iDubbz (I'll be getting to him) cuck controversy video he did, it honestly just felt hypocritical considering if the same thing happened to some content creator he wasn't butt buddies with, he would've torn into them. But no, iDubbz was his bestest buddy, so obviously anyone who calls him a cuck or simp must be some unhinged individual. Couldn't stand him after that that and stopped watching his ass. Glad I did after that whole Pokemon card craze where he was putting down absurds amounts of money for a stupid children's card game and his girlfriend walked in and told him to stop spending his money on stupid shit on one of his streams and he was like "woah babe, you're like ruining my vibe". Jesus H. Christ that was embarassing. Also he looks like a greasy teenage skater boy with the long hair.
iDubbz: Discovered him through his Kickstarter Crap series and had a lot of fun with those videos, especially the ones where the kickstarter author would respond back. He wasn't that big back then, and his humor felt unfiltered. Then he got huge doing his Content Cop stuff, and those were a great time as well. But after a while, he slowed down with his uploads, and that's not a huge deal for me, I can wait if it means the next video comes out is higher quality. Anyways, he uploaded that "idubbz is a simp??" video or whatever the fuck it was called, and I've never seen someone's mask fall off so hard. You could tell he was definitely upset because his face was beet red at the end of the video, and was lashing out at much smaller tubers than himself, which was ironic since he used to do the opposite with the content cop vids. You think someone like him would simply laugh off the people calling him a simp/cuck but nah, he had to explode. Couldn't watch him after that tantrum, and watching him and Anisa go downhill has been very entertaining over the past couple years.
SomeCallMeJohnny/BrainScratchComms: Discovered Johnny through BSC, which was a commentary group of a few guys, Nayrman (Ryan), SolarisParadox (Lewis), ExandShadow (Ted), and SomeCallMeJohnny, and they'd occasionally had special guests on. One of them would record a series of videos of them playing through a game on a separate channel, and then they would watch and commentate over the playthrough. I'd love the playthroughs that were godawful (Ted's The Legend of Zelda playthrough) or had a really embarassing gaffe (Johnny dying to Storm Eagle in Mega Man X, who is considered to be a braindead easy boss) because they would just tear into one another or slowly go insane. After a while I just got bored with them and stuck to watching just Johnny since he was easily the most charismatic and down the earth of the group. He'd just review games on his own channel, nothing too special but the way he carried himself made them a joy to watch. Eventually I got bored of him too, but didn't unsub. Then COVID happened, and holy shit, something in him snapped because he would always end his videos like patronizingly preachy shit like "wash your hands, wear a mask!" or "get the vaccine!" and he even did this at the end of a crossover video he did with Caddicarus. He just came across as holier-than-thou asshole, and I couldn't stand him anymore so I cut him out completely. Good riddance. Did the same with BSC, since they drank the same Kool-Aid as Johnny, especially Lewis and Ted, and I hadn't watched their crap in over 2-3 years anyway. I honestly don't care where people stand on the COVID stuff and the vaccine, but I can't stand people who act like they're on the right side of history and everyone who disagrees is an unwashed troglodyte.

cr1tikal's content has gotten insanely lazy recently. React content is pretty low effort to begin with but initially he would make a video showing the clip in question and comment over it or do cutaways to himself where he talked about the clip. Now an increasing number of his react videos are just clips taken from his stream where he just watches someone else's YouTube video (which they've usually put time and effort into) and makes sporadic comments over the top of it. He himself has ceased to be interesting, all of the intrigue comes from the video itself.

You mention the Pokemon card spam but honestly nothing was worse than the two months when it was just Among Us videos over and over again. And he called the devs of Fall Guys lazy.

Something really snapped in him. He was also featured as a special co-host in Matt McMuscles' episode on Sonic Chronicles, and even there he couldn't help but drop a "Wear a fucking mask" to the audience.

Steven Crowder - and I can’t pinpoint precisely which video but I think I lost faith around the time he did that undercover Wikipedia ‘special’. I recall thinking ‘looks like he's scraping the barrel here’. It feels like he’s completely ran out of ideas. I have watched since then but it’s only half-hearted. Let my subscription run out in February and I’m fine to just occasionally tune in to the free stuff.

He lost a lot of personalities over the last year - Audio Wade, Reg, Bill Richmond (busy apparently), Maddie, 1/4 Black Garrett. The remainder of his team are faceless/yes men. Dave and Gerald can be interesting but its generally… well, dull.

Biggest mistake was the permanent appointment of Dave Landau. It’s killed the show as any will for real investigative work of yore is evermore scarce as both Steve and Dave just resort to endless fucking improv. I do actually like Dave as a comedian but his appointment here has reduced both of them to repetitive ad-lib and ever-excruciatingly long skits and intros.

Adam Corolla Podcast - stopped watching the moment Gina Grad got her boobs reduced.

SomeCallMeJohnny
I think what made me drop him was during his second Spiderman review or rather at the beginning, he was shilling for BLM.

He said and I quote;
"And remember. No lives matter until black lives matter"

Dude deadass said that before he was about to review a game with a black kid as the main character.

What in the fuck?

Although then again, I'd likely have the same reaction if he had said this over some Kirby review or whatever

I unsubbed his channel back in May 2020 once he became way more interested into shoehorning his identity politics down people's throats (the same with other channels throughout the summer such as CinemaWins, SuperMega, Slopes Game Room, etc.), and to this day, these channels became complete advocates for BLM, Stop Asian Hate, COVID-19, Jan 6th, and Ukraine.

That's the thing, channels such as SomeCallMeJohnny, as well as MovieBob, Lindsay Ellis, Tony Goldmark, Quinton Reviews, AniMat, etc. have become way more into their left-wing political ideology in recent memory that it's completely impossible to even keep watching because they've became insufferable little troglodytes.

Double posting because I have a question, is there a lolcow thread on SomeCallMeJohnny yet?

Landau is good, but he does encourage Crowder's weakest point, his comedy. No one likes improv, this isn't 2003. People just want a clean no bullshit, no RINO filter to conservative news. Otherwise we'd watch shitty overproduced Daily Wire stuff. And at this point it seems Crowder is leaning more to Daily Wire safe shit as opposed to the more enjoyable Metokur/Alex Jones side.

I let my subscription lapse last year, and won't renew until they actually do more than 4 days a week and just content with watching the youtube/rumbles. They have the resources to do 5, or do actual worthwhile content behind the paywall, they just don't.

Slopes Game Room
I recall watching one video where he insinuated his toddler daughter was straight as part of a bit for some stalker kickstarter shit about stalking underage in-laws.

And some people began getting on his ass because "heteronormativity" or some shit. It was pretty dumb.

Unfortunately channels beyond talking about media is not immune to this.
One example is FalKKonE, a channel I enjoyed a lot because I really like metal music. Had to unsub when they made this

Regardless of what side you're on, I find this really unfitting alongside anime and video games shit. Especially for a channel that doesn't have anything close to politically commentary anywhere in their content. Struck me as super virtue signaling.

Edit: grammar and shit

I've dropped a lot of channels due to them slipping into the left-leaning identity politics bullshit. Way too many times I've also watched one good video from a channel, just for the very next to be sucking tranny cock. Then there's plenty where they start out decent, then become absolute trash with suicide level cringe "jokes and bits" (looking at you RougeInternetMan and that god awful, unfunny "troll character" bit you do). Damn near any content creator that becomes a streamer falls into that pit within a month or two. No, having a twerking among us character and some anime characters annoying voice pop up anytime you get a donation isn't funny, kill yourself.

It's hard to give examples because I've excised so many from even showing up on my feed anymore.

One distinct example I do remember though was Extra Credits and the video on the game Hatred. They were decent background noise up until that one, in which they shoved their head so far up their own asses that they never came back out. That was pretty much my wake-up call to start being more selective about what channels I give any clicks to.

Edit: Thanks @Rupan Sansei for jogging my memory. Dropped iDubbz for becoming exactly the kind of shit he made fun of, dropped Cr1tikal when it became clear he started thinking way to highly of his own opinions on shit and quickly becoming a moralfagging dildo who can't stop playing with dildos.

Oh god, I almost forgot about that. Considering him, Matt, Elliot, and Elliot's girlfriend are all either overweight, fat or flat out obese, it really makes you think why he'd shill for vaccines and masks so hard. Makes me very thunkful...

Damn, that must've been after I unsubbed from him or one I just skipped out of disinterest for the game he was reviewing. It's one thing if you post your sanctimonious nonsense on Twatter, because at least I can ignore it, but forcing it into your YouTube videos that I'm watching to be entertained is bullshit. Dunno why so many people who play or review video games think people give a shit about what they think about (insert hot political topic here), no one should care what the court jester thinks about the war in Ukraine.
