Action series are marketed to a specific audience, it's why they're called "shounen", they're for young men.
Comparing that demographic to the demographic of several other genres combined, which all appeal to several different age groups is asinine. It's not an argument. It's like saying no one likes comedy because action, drama, horror, and porn exist.
And that last claim, that anime that's popular in America is junk tv in Japan, also not true. A lot of animes that make it overseas do so because they were successful in Japan.
Series like Evangelion are still printing money and still making merchandise well after they've been over.

And this might be a hot take but after looking at some old posts, I don’t even think Jerry likes most western cartoons that much.
Exactly, you can’t compare the demographic of one genre to the demographics of other genres. For example, The Simpsons and Family Guy’s main demographic are adults and teens.
Now that is blessing.

Lily wrote a sexual assault story, and then proceeded to spend the entire story trying to desperately backtrack on that very idea, only to make it worst at every possible plot point, now it's more of the same years later making the comic's melodrama even more stupid and contrive.

She probably wouldn't have picked up the game in the first place, but if she did, she would have dropped it long before this happens. I don't think she'd even get through 2B's story, and if she by some chance made it to Chapter C/D would have given up because the tropey basic storytelling she's used to would have collapsed and demanded that she start actually thinking about what she's playing.
But it's more likely she'd get battered during the prologue, die to the boss, and then throw a hissy fit and leave.
Here again her appeal to mass marketing, now with the added bonus of ethnocentrism! That's right, the things that Lily likes and that her culture tends to enjoy are universal. If you showed Family Guy to an African tribe I'm sure they'd be enthralled.
I've said enough about the narrative logistics on this (and we've all had a good go at how fucked up it is). Now I'm wondering why G is the one who keeps forging these bonds for other people. Corazon makes sense, given that she's comatose when it happens, but why does G have to do this for Marah? Is Marah somehow not capable of doing this herself?

she doesnt watch gumball, regular show, loud house, spongebob, all that slice of life comedy episodic shit she claims to love
she didnt watch any cartoon cartoons, any adult cartoons, movies not made by disney, old shit like looney tunes or hannah barbera, nothing
honestly if she actually had to sit down and watch bojack horseman, futurama or hell, even any of the good rick and morty shows, she would expand her critical thinking skills so much, but she's incapable

also, there are MANY anime that flopped in japan but had success in america, and vice versa, like panties and stocking. Big O literally got picked up by CN while it was dropped in japan. If you compare japanese vs american fandoms of certain stuff, you can see differences in how certain cultures react to certain characters
finally, i think lily got all of this backwards? its not america that influences japanese culture, actually right now it's... kind of the opposite? dont get me wrong, disney was a BIG influence in modern anime (ozamu tezuka got a lot of inspiration from donald duck) but right now manga and anime are kicking western industries in the balls. American comics are in decline, western cartoons are getting budget slashes to try to compete, streaming is making foreign content more popular than ever and stuff like squid game (yeah its korean but it proves my point) is getting more popular than most american shows being made right now and shows like su, avatar and a lot other are getting influenced by anime
sorry lily, but youre getting behind the times, and youre going to need to adapt instead of being so defensive against "weebs"

Someone should tell Lily that it's not the late 2000's/ early 2010's anymore. Weeb hate has died down significantly within the past decade and now the only ones who get flack for enjoying anime are the ones who are obnoxious about it...you know, like every other type of group in existence?
He never really grew out of that era of the Internet, did he? Speculating out my ass here, but I suppose that's when he "peaked" in his life; he had a solid Internet following, was semi-respected in a prominent fandom, and wasn't known in every social circle outside his own as a massive D-bag. You got to wonder if a lot of what he does is for the sake of trying to maintain the delusion that the world hasn't changed since then.
But I digress, Lily can shit on anime in his small Tumblr corner all he wants, at most 50 people will see/ care about his opinion and less then half that number will agree with it. If his opinion held any water then stuff like manga wouldn't be dominating comic book sales in the U.S.

Lily dont claim you're a cartoon critic if you dont know basic shit like- why dubbing can be bad actually or are to stubborn to even read occasionally to appreciate the original intent of the animators. Subs are great for kids because yeah, kids would rather watch than read, but you're a fucking adult, grow up.
most of the time, it is not an issue unless dialogue and action is going by quickly, wich is rarer- but thats why there's a rewind button or the concept of watching a thing more than once.
Plus, dubbing live action lip movement is near impossible to make look good. watch any old karate films that were dubbed over-you cannot make one language's lip flaps align up with a totally different language's vocalisation, whilst keeping tone, context, emotion and if the sentences make sense in mind. This is why anime is one of the easiest mediums to dub because rarely do they ever animate the lips 100% accurately.
it's not just a budget thing either, its to make is easier to dub and why bother wasting money on accurate lip flaps when that can be put into other crucial things like fight scenes or animating tasty looking food?
also there's a dubbing rule/guideline that if you make the 'vocalised' noise match up with the first and last lip flap as accurate as possible, whatever you fill the in-between with doesn't really matter unless you mess up so bad.
Another thing about dubbing is- have you noticed whenever you watch a dubbed media there's sometimes awkward pauses? yeah its just a thing you have to unfortunately deal with unless you can write around it. Sometimes the same/equivalent sentences can be shorter or depending on the language. it's just how languages work. So 'padding up' sentences is sometimes necessary. Sometimes to the detriment of the anime- take Dragon Maid's awful dub as an example.
Censorship, adding unnecessary jokes/padding, outright omitting some stuff and all kinds of bs plagues dubbing too. The shadow realms from yu-gi-oh? It was just the after world/hell in Japanese. Did you know james had inflatable tits in the anime? well you would if you watched the orirignal. Or lesbain incest cousins of Sailor moon- not incestual in japan.

Oh God, you've really hit on something: what media does Lily consume? Like, what, in total, has she consumed? And I'm not limiting this to just cartoons or movies, but I'm also including games, books, and music.
Does Lily just sit in her room, crying about lesbians like a Dobson who can't draw? Only occasionally watching things, maybe never trying new games outside of WoW and KH2?
There's a lot to say about dubs and Japanese culture, but it's sad that she seems to only consume only a few core things.
I wondered how it must have felt, for her, to have made it to 30, and never had life experiences anywhere other than her high school. Now I think she's also never consumed any different media since high school either.
