Not to be a contrarian but that was never really the case (at least in my experience). Most nerds here have seen how they took over those corners to turn them into their personal hugboxes and/or grooming factories. Fandoms too. It was bound to escalate sooner or later. Troons don't have a fame of specifically targeting mod positions for nothing. And, indeed, that's what they did when they leaked into mainstream social media.

Drag did evolve from minstrel shows. I've written about it here before, but tldr is that with the freedom of slaves and black people earning their money, preformers noticing that the mocks of Black women were more popular, and wanting to avoid offending potential customers, companies started shifting to mocking women in general. This is even stated on Wikipedia which leans left.

Interestingly, the subsection of the history of drag no longer has this section first and has added a paragraph about the first drag balls at the top that was added at the end of this May. I'm pretty sure the minstrel show section was larger. This is incorrect, I checked the logs of the wiki page.

Going to go out on a limb here and suggest that maybe, possibly, black women like to be referred to as women and not as 'African American femininity'. You know, like they're actually fully human rather than an act someone puts on or passing fashion. The thing about the trans movement is that same qualities that allowed it to rise so quickly are the same that will cause it flame out. They demand extraordinary privileges and considerations, and at the same time they have absolutely no barrier to entry and will defend to the death even the most psychotic deviants as long as they claim a trans identity. They will occasionally disavow the worst of the worst like Jonathan Yaniv, but they still insist that "one example proves nothing" and don't moderate their behavior at all.
