From the looks of it, it doesn't seem like they're rewriting the story, which at least that's a good thing. But the fact remains that this remake is still pointless. It's literally just the exact same game but with graphics that are barely different from something you could just get from the PS4 version for less money. They expect us to pay 70 dollars for this shit? No thanks.

There were always two scenarios with this game. Either:

A) A lazy cash-in remaster with spruced-up graphics/mechanics and nothing else (and sold for $70 lol)
or
B) A complete remake that butchers the original by replacing the designs with the TV show actors and rewrites it to depict Joel as a reprehensible monster

So far it seems more like A to me. Which I guess is preferable, but it doesn't change the fact that this simply does not need to exist because you can already fucking play the LAST remaster on PS5. And also it's entirely possible B may still happen and they're just keeping it under wraps to subvert expectations. This is the same company that intentionally fucked with TLOU2's trailers to mislead people after all.

No way this doesn't get rewritten at least at the end to introduce Abby to retcon her existence in an attempt to legitimize her and just straight up make the ending total justification for her side of the story instead of, y'know, the fact the Fireflies were going to kill a girl without any way of knowing if they could produce a cure, let alone the fact even if they had a cure it was all fucking pointless since they couldn't mass produce it.

And they want $70 for what so far looks like PC graphics mod of an almost decade old game?

There are two possibilities here.

The first is that they’ll keep everything the same. It’s a 2013 game though so it looks like a remaster. No point in getting it.

The 2nd is that they’ll try to vilify Joel and make the story cater to TLOU2. Again, no point in getting it.

like i said in this thread before, its just gonna be the same game, using the new tech naughty dog used for the second game, maybe including the accessibility and chapter/encounter feature of the second game, maybe a few rerecorded lines or something, but overall it's the same game with a graphical boost
does it need to exist, probably not, but the fact it's coming to pc is the thing that matters somewhat here

I'd consider picking it up in a few years when it's heavily discounted.

Spiderman looks fun and I'm still waiting on a Ghost of Tsushima announcement.

A friend of mine with contacts at Naughty Dog told me this has been in the pipeline for over a year now. Why on Earth you would buy this when you can get a PS4 copy on Amazon for less than $10 and just play it on the PS5 is anyone's guess.

And the really insulting part will be when they still don't include the multiplayer from the PS3 original. A remake of a neutered remake, of a game from nine years ago. It's such a damning indictment of our times.

Not so much of our times as it is the kind of management going on at Naughty Dog. They'd rather make an inferior version of an old game all over again than even support the sequel by including the multiplayer they kept promising people for TLOU2 and still haven't done a thing about.

So TLOU was the final thing talked about during Not-E3 today, and to was literally a concept art for multiplayer(with more news to come out in a year), and image of the show, and then the remake announcement. Along with a bunch of Drunkleman just talking about nothing.

A wet fart of an ending.
