I'm more interested in characters people wanna punch. I just finished Eureka and that little lalafell douche was insufferable. I wanted to punt him into a pit. Or at least kick his ass up one side of Hydatos and back down the other.

Eureka was an absolute slog of a Relic grind too. I barely felt motivated to grind the one weapon after the second area. If that was cut in half, it wouldn't have been nearly as bad. Which I guess is what Bozja is. Baldesion Arsenal was kinda cool though. Doing it on Crystal was the definition of "No Fun Allowed" though.

Eureka was an absolute slog of a Relic grind too. I barely felt motivated to grind the one weapon after the second area. If that was cut in half, it wouldn't have been nearly as bad. Which I guess is what Bozja is. Baldesion Arsenal was kinda cool though. Doing it on Crystal was the definition of "No Fun Allowed" though.

I'd be more willing to go if I can gain experience there like I can in Bozja.

After that though? It's just hopping on a fate train and some pretty mindless grinding. Can even just throw something on to watch in a window or second monitor and grind fates that way.

Now the Heavensward relics... thats a slog. Mainly because of having to grind out so fucking many poetics. Somewhere near around 20K worth of poetics.

Don't get me started on the ARR relics. Those are fucking tedious at best, and that's with the boosted drop rate for the items.

And no comment on the ShB relics. I've yet to do that yet, but might do so for my DRK job.

Valens was pretty scummy. I was happy to see him finally bite it. I'm a sucker for that questline. Mostly due to how many Gundam references there are there. I'm a diehard mecha dude and it was really tickling me. I did like him whistling the Garlean anthem at least.

Asahi is a cunt, but his voice actor elevates him. He puts on a hell of a performance.

Yeah, Bozja is basically a shorter and more polished version of Eureka. The only downside is that apparently it's pretty dead now with less dedicated communities than Eureka so it may be difficult to get proper groups together for the raid content like Delubrum Reginae.

I probably should have mentioned that Poetics ain't too bad when you figure it out a little.

When I need poetics, I go to Eureka.

Those fates in there will cap you out on Poetics pretty quickly. Do you can double dip relics between 2 different expansions in one run.

Ameliance is cute, but not at all in the r34 sort of way. She's cute in the way that a stay-at-home mom who's nice to all the kids on the block is. Just a kind, sweet lady that'd give you any excess cookies her kids didn't want to eat or something like that.
Pretty much all the moms/motherly figures in XIV give me that sort of vibe, just some nice ladies that you'd drink tea with. Y'shtola is fair game though.

Did they skip the dialogue where the writers more or less scream at you that he adores Ameliance and pays attention to her when he's not taken up by Forum business? Or that he made the choices he did, to banish his kids and be kind of an asshole to them overall for a while, because his worst fear of having them die like his father did was more likely than ever during 5.5 up to when they come home on Ragnarok?

Actually, how many people shitting on Fourchenalt just don't remember that he's Louisoix's son? It makes literally every irrational-looking choice he makes in regards to the Scions make a lot more sense, because if the twins had such visceral reactions to the results of their grandfather being the hero in the 2.0 short stories (this one in particular) and during Coils, how do you think Fourchenalt felt? Of course he'd be a lot more severe with that in mind, but some people in this community don't have a mind to keep jack shit in.

If they were wronged once or had a bad impression left from the start by a character, said character is forever tarnished in their eyes from that point forward.

On the actual topic above, I will admit I didn't really think of Fourchenalt's relationship with Louisaix critically enough because frankly that whole angle of the story hasn't really come up in about half a decade for pretty much every other character that I simply forgot. I never hated the guy even in 5.5, I felt him being overly protective of his children made sense, but considering Alisaie's reactions to Louisaix's passing and that he is her father (and Louisaix is his), him being kind of a stubborn hard ass does make a lot of sense. He is effectively both of his children's worst traits combined for most of 5.5-6.0, which feels really fitting considering they are his children.

If you legitimately believe this, you can't read, and you are probably unironically racist yourself if you only see "white looking asian guy enlists poor helpless mongolian-esque people to help him fight his liberation war" and that is all you saw during that whole section of the story. Which turns out, that is many people. Very sad how many people can't read and see only scribbles in this game's dialogue boxes when the dialogue isn't voiced to them.

Also, little surprised people here didn't care for HW. I personally loved it. Sure it's not perfect, but still fun all around. In terms of story I think EW and SB had the weakest. EW at least had good moments, while both had great trials.

Eureka would be a lot better if they just cut Pagos out entirely, Anemos is a ton of fun being able to solo fates and it teaches you a lot about the zones and how they work on a basic level, Pyros and Hydros introduce new cool mechanics that'd be used in Bozja.

Pagos is just a fucking slog, I wasn't even doing it for the weapon and it still took me two weeks, given how back asswards the crystal system is in that zone I shudder to think how long it'd take.
