Everybody comparing it to Genshin is only using 1% of their brain.
My bet is they'll make a Fortnite/Roblox type of game, something that can be used as a platform for concerts and live events with silly building mode and some kind of pvp never meant to be competitive.
Obviously there'll be too some kind of gacha with skins and stuff to roll and craft like glowsticks or some kind of stickers and emotes

Lol, i love you Hololive but that game trailer looks like abject garbage, there's just no denying that.

I think COVER would be way smarter if they made a (GOOD) anime or a long running manga anthology, a game just seems like too much for them to handle and they do not have the expertise for it.
Have always thought that this idea of a sandbox/genshin clone (it looks a lot like genshin and people will never stop comparing it) is the wrong path to take, if they wanted to make a gacha to suck money out of people just make something that uses JPGs or pixel chibis of the talents rather than 3D models and barely has any "game" at all.
If they wanted to make an actually GOOD game then i would recommend something like a rhythm, idol management or even fighting game, those are all better ideas than whatever they are doing wasting their time on.

My assumption was the game stuff they can do themselves in house (tech company origins afterall) and them building assets, models and environments can also feed back into their vtuber talents and productions.

The anime, while hype as fuck, is just them dropping a mountain of money on outside talent and comissioning it.

If t hey outsource the game stuff than a lot of my thinking there goes out the window but I haven't looked terribly deeply into it.

Given that every VOD that Pippa and Lumi are in, gets yeeted, from a marketing standpoint this could be used to create hype around the whole "podcast" thing. Sure people will archive it but for the most part, the general population normally won't get access to it. Having it be somewhat exclusive will only serve to draw more people to it due to FOMO. Hell, they had around 860 viewers at their peak.

I don't get it either but they will probably have a shit-ton of customizable options and assets they will charge you out the ass for. Maybe it's more of a social MMO type of game similar to 2nd life.

I would assume that someone (probably a manager or even a private company) individually checks every single package for it.

Despite how wealthy Cover is or even Nijisanji for that matter, I doubt VTuber companies are able to fund a decently animated show, especially if they want to keep the godlike animation that their trailer has currently. Unless they get some sweet sweet venture capital, I don't see how a VTuber agency is going to pull off making an anime. That being said, Cover has perfectly set Hololive up to have a good story and lore, and with the global brand recognition, they might actually pull off a good anime. All they need is to not fuck up, stumble and embarrass themselves by getting fans this hyped up over HoloEarth. This is their first venture out into entertainment branches aside from VTubers, and they can't risk fucking it up.

For now, the gameplay trailer is dogshit, but if it's just a tech demo, it ain't that bad. If gameplay's gonna suck, at the very least the narrative should be good enough to save it.
