This feels very strange to me. The Tranch is broke and has been severely neglecting their own grift GFMs, so why is Penny tweeting about this? At least with the Oglala Lakota situation, there was at least some plausibility that he had a personal friend among the tribe and they decided to grift together, but how does Penny know this random black family in Texas?

Even more strange, I cannot find the source for this GFM campaign. If you do a twitter search for this GFM, Penny is the only person who has tweeted about it. Where are the people responsible for setting it up? This "Charity Jelani" person? I can't find anything about them on the Internet. Maybe I'm just bad at searching, but I really can't find anything.

Here are all of the donations so far. Notice that the first donation was 13 hours ago, which is after Penny tweeted about the GFM (15 hours ago).
So this GFM and the organizer seemingly have no Internet presence and had no donations until Penny tweeted about them. Where did he hear about them exactly?

Also, I've tried to reverse image search the GFM picture, but nothing turns up for that either.

I don't want to claim that Penny is scamming and that this is totally fake, but I'm certainly suspicious. "Black trans kid trying to escape bigoted, anti-trans Texas" hits all the right notes for a scam, especially with it being so light on details. I'm mainly confused on why I can't find the organizer of the GFM on social media. Wouldn't they at least tweet about it on their own account?

That's a Trapstar London t-shirt from their 2018 "Island Nights" collection.

Trapstar London do limited drops that go for about £40-£50 ($50-$60) for t-shirts and they charge £15 for shipping to the US (so total cost for one t-shirt could be like $80). I don't think they're really in stores.

Seems like a bit of a strange thing for the child of a struggling single mother to own (although I guess it could be second hand off Depop or whatever, they're a hype brand and have been worn by the likes of Rihanna and Jay-Z).

Great info. I think designer stuff like that often gets dumped through TK/TJ Maxx in other territories if it doesn’t sell, so as not to dilute the main market.
However, agreeing that the original GFM looks highly sus. Penny has effectively laundered it, as the original account got almost no engagement, given it’s a bot or spam account with probably no real followers. If you look at the “tweets and replies” tab, the GFM was being tweeted out @ various individual accounts, in the hopes of getting RT’d.
Interesting one to watch, it’s clearly fertile ground for getting free money.
I still prefer to think Penny isn’t “in on it” though.

Smells like a foreign scammer to me. No Texas mom spells neighborhood with a u, but it's common for ESL types to be taught Britbong English. Certain Asian cultures (e.g. in Sri Lanka, but not exclusively) use a husband's first name as the wife's last name, and might invent someone called [American Black Female name] [American Black Male name].

Not very smart to target actual trannies, they all broke. Should have tried contacting guilty white liberals instead, that's where all the grift money is.

Concur that Penny is just dumb and probably not the scammer here.

The entire county has less than 5k population. Westcliffe is the county seat with around 550 people. Neighboring Silver Cliff brings it up to about 1,100 total for the joined towns. I think a lot of cityfolk don't understand just how rural that is. It has a population density of 6.4sq/mile. The lowest population density British county is 25x more dense than Custer county. The least dense German state is 27x more dense. Custer County isn't even particularly large or empty as far as counties out west go, it's just rural.

You have to really piss off someone in the undoubtedly understaffed local government to force them to waste their limited time and resources on you instead of than the terrible drug problem, crushing poverty, struggling schools, fucked up roads, and whatever problems are specific to that rural area in particular. The NYPD spends more per year on terminal leave for retiring officers than the entire Custer County budget.
