What I want to know is how the rot got so bad in our government, it seems like no position high or low is untouched. I honestly don't know how you would go about dealing with all the corruption and abuses of power that occurs at this point, outside of voting is there really nothing we can do to hold our public officials accountable?
A number of things. I personally blame the fact that almost everyone in congress was a lawyer before they got there. Fuck lawyers.

From pages ago, but the adoption by US troops of the unpopular 6.8 mm cartridge is not an accident. When you are fighting a ground war, you don't want to be using the same ammunition as your opponent, otherwise they can take your ammo dumps and turn them into their ammo dumps. Too many US citizens have rifles chambered in 5.56.
Couldn't they just pick up your weapons and ammo?

fuck me if cnn isnt playing ball for biden, he must be really fucked. when do you think they might pull the rug under him and try to get him out of office?
CNN of today isn’t the same CNN from a couple months ago after Discovery came in, cleaned house and lay down the new law of the land. This isn’t so much an indication of how much worse Biden is doing, but how much CNN is going to change in the future.

And the general future of the news industry - if the CNN turnaround from Discovery leads to a relatively successful (face it, they'll never be market making kings again in the digital age) restoration of the brand, all the other media apparatus out there will have to take note. Even with external political pressure on them, they also have a lot of pressure from "Fuck your politics just make me money" shareholders, and a bunch of legal obligations to actually do so. Its not enough to guarantee any particular course of action, but its a pressure towards something less insane.

If the turnaround fails, then a lot of investors will probably just give up and bail outta traditional media entirely - if it can't turn big profits as a partisan news source or an impartial news source, why bother dumping money into it all then.

I've been stocking up on food, water, ammo, and guns since the pandemic started. The run of toilet paper and hand sanitizer insanity showed how ill prepared I would be if things got really bad so I started stocking. All those years ago I laughed at preppers and thought they were insane, I was so very wrong. At this rate I'm going to end up like Burt from Tremors.

I love rice, beans, and chicken.
I never had canned chicken, but if it taste like crap it's nothing that black pepper can't fix.

Canned chicken is salty as another poster mentioned, I usually rinse it before preparing it. It's among my staples for my hurricane preparedness food from the time before I had a generator. Now that I have a reliable generator I can rely less on non-refrigerated/frozen food but I still keep some around.

At this point I feel like we need a general thread for people compiling advice for dealing with the coming food shortages. We probably have enough to stay afloat for summer but by fall harvest all these fertilizer shortages and shit are going to hit hard. I'm focusing on buying up dog food too since my puppers will eat before I will, if shit truly hits the fan they will be even more valuable to me long term. But maybe we can get a thread going separate from the Global Depression thread since that seems to be more documenting shortages than discussing ways to mitigate it.

For those of you discussing canned chicken, honestly a better option if you can would be to get a vac sealer and vac pack and freeze some fresh or cooked chicken. Canned chicken is very high in sodium and preservatives. A vac sealer and a dehydrator will do you wonders when it comes to making preserved long term storage foods. I'm going to be making some jerky asap since beef just continues rising - I'm considered a heretic among my kind but I prefer beef jerky to venison because it's more flexible with flavoring imo it melds better with pretty much any seasoning.

I don't really care about the salt, I rinse it which makes it taste noticeably less salty but it is still far less salty than jerky. I have no history of high blood pressure in my family and my blood pressure is borderline low. While it would be nice to have the stuff necessary to make jerky, I don't feel like investing the time in it right now. Making enough jerky to feed myself at the rate I can with the rice/beans/canned chicken would be a large undertaking and I have other projects I'd rather focus on.

Right before covid became a thing in the US I was warned about it by a friend who was overseas and I bought a bunch of long shelf life food, I didn't know enough about the virus to know if I was going to have to stay home for a long time and break out the NBC gear to go get stuff when I ran low but what I did know was that even if people just freaked out over nothing it would be nice to not have to go out to get stuff and deal with hysteria and shortages. With all of the talk of shortages I've brought my reserves back up to the level I had pre-covid.

The stupid glowie made People's Front or whatever these fags are called being stopped by the glowies to show they're protecting the trannies is the most low effort glowie thing to date, especially when they ignore the Antifa "medical busses" that drop off bricks and weapons for the masked pedos.

Pretty convenient they finally do this just as we have a week of 1/6 investigations.

edit: gonna do anything about Kavanaugh and Barrett's homes being harassed? No?

Apologies to the Eagles before I start this, but here we go:

Standin' on a corner in Tempe Arizona and such a sad sight to see.
It's me in a diesel Ford lookin' at what prices used to be.
