Flashbacks to Le Mans 2016 when the leading Toyota broke down in the final fucking lap
That's a tradition for Toyota. Remember the Gt One from the last century? They broke down in the last hour. One time with the gearbox the other time a flat tyre. The car was abeauty though

If this season ends with Checo winning the title, I would be so happy. Dude is a great driver and I'd love to see Mexico losing it over having their own WDC F1 driver.
Would also be kinda neat for RB, first Dutch champion, first Mexican champion.
This will all depend on how stubborn Helmut and Horner are. Will they want Max to win at any cost, or would they be happy to support Checo if he ends up being in the stronger position towards the end of the season? Whilst I suspect they'd be less salty about this scenario than Toto would be about George outclassing Hambone, that's still a factor.

I'm cautiously optimistic that both are more about the team's reputation, and can show just enough pragmatism for their Plan B to become Plan A if that is RBR's best shot at a WDC.

The funny thing about qualifying is, bar calamities like the jockeying for position at the end of Q1 it’s very hard to broadcast qualifying in a way that is engaging to watch. It would be cool if for qualifying they went for a mega split screen look with a ton of different drivers onboards. But usually they just have a camera at the finish line and you see each driver cross the line and then see a number pop up on the bottom of the screen.

Splitscreen footage would be best. For instance, it could be split in 4 individual screens, one shows a table of all drivers currently driving, all their total times and sector times and positions on a map, the other three show us different drivers.
I think that would work out rather well.

The way it is now, they might as well just clamp a camera down near the finish-line pointing down the long straight and only show that footage and show the times of all drivers coming past. That way, at least we'd fucking know who just finished a lap. For any midfield driver, we usually just get an update on their time in the table on the left and that's it. We sometimes didn't even know they were on a hot lap.

It's hard to choose the correct footage and different people will have a different interest in different drivers, but one thing is for sure:
We do not need to see Hamilton meandering his way around the track 75% of the time, while there's a fierce battle to avoid being shoved out of Q1 or Q2 between 5 other drivers.

Does Lewis Hamilton truly have no self-awareness as to how fucking ridiculous he looks these days?
I knew that Y2K-era fashion was making a comeback, but I didn't expect Hambone to look so much like Ali G. All he needs now is the beanie hat.

Anyone keeping an eye on the Isle of Man TT? Just found out it's been a fucking Final Destination movie out there, five people have died so far, most recently a father-son team during a sidecar race yesterday :stress:
Yeah the TT is often a case of survive it first then see where you came. I have blasted around that course in my car (when open, at night where no cops around) and it has some seriously dodgy parts, on a motorcycle you are basically playing death or glory.

Here the deaths by year chart

And total deaths by nationality.

Here are some videos of the course and riders if you're wondering how so many die watch this and wonder how so few die...
