Venomous species in GA aren't particularly aggressive and most bites happen because someone either accidentally stepped on/grabbed the snake or was intentionally messing with/trying to kill it. Dogs shouldn't be outside unsupervised, same as any other non-native pet.I get where you’re coming from and it’s noble. Remember though, they’re frightening for a reason, people are understandably wary of them since most folks know someone who’s dog or uncle Joe got bitten, and it’s not pretty. The only thing you can do as an advocate is to try to turn that fear into respect. Protection sadly doesn’t always lead people to finding a species favorable.
Fatalities from snakebite in the US are extraordinarily rare. Horses and dogs kill way more people.
