While I don't doubt that Graeme most likey has some uncomfortable tendencies that point towards him being a nonce of some kind, I think this video is less a genuine admittance of him being a pedo and more of a Chris Chan-esque situation in which he was pressured into saying/doing something that will ruin his reputation by a group of weens. The fact that there were trolls in his chat "threatening" him and how this video was coincidentally uploaded before a stream he did with a ween group leads me to believe that he wasn't actually making this video due to being guilty of looking at CP.

I'm with you on this one. In my years of watching this thread, Graeme's had a laundry list of excuses for consuming NSFW involving diapers/young characters, (for example: "I already deleted it all", or "I just like the artwork, like when people go to an art museum"), so Graeme just flat out saying "I'm a pedophile" seems less like an admission and instead that it was either pressured out of him and/or he's just saying it so the weens can get off his back because that's what they want to hear.

Honestly, I’ve just chalked it up to just a desperation to get off. In America at least, you've given them probably cause to search your shit. They'll confiscate anything that has electricity going through it. They'll hold you for a few days while going through it and then either release you if they find nothing and are generous, charge you with wasting their time if they aren't, or you know convict you for having child porn.

The admission part isn't that big a deal. For a normal, mentally sane person yes. Oh god you've fucked up. But in a court of law it would be easy to a get a retard off the hook. I think the truth is that a lot of these characters are voiced by adults written by adults and usually are just mini adults. Sequential shows rarely have time for a main character to have a child like tantrum over a toy and cry that their best friend said their hair is stinky. And many cartoon chars are futher dimorphized to the point where they dont really look like children (or humans for that matter).

With all that as barrier I do think that some people just forget that these are supposed to be minors, especially when the show itself is bringing attention to sexuality. All the cartoons I watched as a kid in the 90s are raunchy with barely hidden sexual jokes and innuendo. A problem that's gotten worse not better. But I also believe there's a bit of a formative context where you either get into this shit or you dont and if you dont you never will.

I also think you have it in reverse though. People project themselves into the worlds and imagine themselves as age appropriate in that universe to connect with the characters. Nobody wants to imagine being in harry potter universe and being a muggle who never went to hogwarts. By that same token, people imagine they are one of the kids getting sent to frog world and getting magic powers.

Tldr. There is a massive ammount of escapism at play, and the type of person that deep into escapism may not visualize themselves as an adult.

I know in the UK, where it’s still technically illegal to engage in consensual BDSM acts, the authorities often hang onto devices for several months.
