The wife was super excited to be leaving the USA because of how dangerous it is with all of the guns and was looking forward to living in a place where freedoms were curtailed for "the good of all and everyone". Ignoring the male/female freedom/security thing, it confirmed for me that the US cannot and will not remain united. The gap in core values is way too far apart. But, that's atleast 30-40% of the population that believes that. You cannot live with a fundamental difference of belief like that.

Investment in Children and Family Mental Health Services
● National expansion of community behavioral health center model; major investments to increase access to mental health and suicide prevention programs; and other support services available in the community, including crisis and trauma intervention and recovery.

Not sure what the change is here. Restraining orders? Good luck getting those removed in a timely fashion if you have an angry ex or you're going through a divorce.

"Investigative period" implies a de facto waiting period. "Including" does not imply "limited to," so we don't know the full scope of this investigation.

Reviewing juvenile records is problematic because there's no Federal law (yet) making adults prohibited persons for juvenile adjudications. But some states have such laws prohibiting persons permanently or for a period of some years. That means young adults will have different rights in different states, and someone will have to keep all these laws straight and ensure the rights ones are applied. Ultimately, I believe the Feds will prohibit anyone with a felony juvenile adjudication.

There's no mental health record repository that can be queried. The only way to get mental health records is to solicit medical history, get a HIPAA release, and deliver it to the provider. Presumably the purchase will be delayed until the provider responds (which might be never) or is written off after a certain period of time. Once this process is proven for the 18-20 population, they will certainly expand it to everyone. And this isn't terribly useful. Unless they're changing the law regarding prohibited persons, voluntary mental health treatment isn't disqualifying no matter what the diagnosis is. You might catch some stoners this way, but a medical record of past drug use isn't proof someone is currently using.

State and local LE rarely has anything relevant that is not already available to the FBI; mostly traffic violations. This is a waste of money.

This will have little to no effect on crime, but it will cost taxpayers a lot of money and infringe on the rights of young adults.
