Within leftist thought, namely feminist thought, sex roles are seen as oppressive. Leading to the oppression of minorities like homosexuals and women in the name of the patriarchy. As such, the efforts of movements like feminism, have been toward the destruction of said roles. Or more accurately, toward the destruction of sex. "A woman is just a different bodied man" for example.

Which leads one to the logical conclusion, that transgenderism is the ultimate queering.
