Well that's good to hear, hopefully the substantial info to learn agricultural necessities isn't behind a paywall. I'll check Permies as well.

What if I'm a skilled programmer who actually develops software and knows calculus? Most tech and internet stuff isn't crucial but it still holds some importance.
I'm a corporate engineer and at least here 2 or 3 people actually hold up a department. If you can be one of those you'll be fine unless the whole company dies or older freeloaders politic their way into keeping their jobs at your expense.

If push comes to shove, whites and blacks will find they have more in common with each other than the rich. Its all a distraction to prevent people from seeing the class and wealth inequalities.
In a high stress environment or situation you will always have groups organised by race. Take your American prison for example. Racial segregation. The reason for that is people of the same skin colour are easier to control by a person of the same race. Higher chance of survival.

If you're good at programming and mathematics and you still want to 'prep' a bit for the SHTF scenario, check out precision agriculture on the side whenever you get a spare moment if you like. Depending on how deep of a dive you do into the agriculture material, you'd probably pick up some useful tidbits here and there about how to actually grow crops and food to support a population (it's actually harder than most think, and having some knowledge of how to do it already makes you more indispensable than most of the laptop class should a Mad Max setting await us).

And if we do avoid the wasteland apocalypse Bad End? Then you're even better poised: it's not like we go back to mud-huts and cutting wheat with sickles. We've got sophisticated farming setups these days and precision ag is, at its core, just combining as much extra IT stuff with it as possible (soil/chemical/NDVI variograms, remote crop surveillance, weather mapping, automation, etc) to maximize yield. Most of that is just specialized mathematics/statistics and lots and lots of programming. There's always going to be a job for people that can do that well, and even more now in the wake of certain geopolitical events.

@Kramer on the phone long post reply bug
the problem is where do they lash out? they'll die quick against even the retards in charge of the US airforce, the indian subcontinent is nuked to the gills, and beyond that is their proverbial hymen, the 3GD, which will be the #1 target if war is declared, taiwan's semi-conductors are too important to let die, same with SK/japan's bullshit.

so where else could they attack?

beyond that they don't have much of a track record at anything regarding the military, and just zerg rushing won't work, it technically didn't work in the korean war either.

Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar; I did not say anything about the three island chains. Also, a war of expansion doesn't need to start with the military. The three island chains will only be occupied when China is confident they can do it and survive; either from the US Navy, or if the US falls apart.

Did you sleep through the 2020 riots? I remember them in Philadelphia prying open barred store doors to loot shoe stores and openly murdering whitey for no other reason then on the street.

How long do you think blacks can survive on looting the one grocery store in their neighborhood exactly one time? Also, in our hypothetical SHTF scenario, nobody's going to be worried about getting arrested and charged with hate crimes for organizing a posse of their friends to defend their property and lives.

I think SHTF has a 0% chance of happening, it's just that people fantasize that in this scenario, white people will still dutifully line up to ship pallets of food and resources to the blacks in exchange for exactly nothing, forever.

If I'm working towards a bachelor's in the tech industry, should I get out of college or switch majors? I don't need a constant six-figure salary but I'd rather not live paycheck to paycheck after breaking my ass for a few years.
Unless this latest downturn becomes the Big One (which IMO is nowhere near guaranteed) I'd honestly stick with it if that's where your passion lies.

Tech will always be in demand in some form, but the industries driving it will change. For example a lot of the firms currently shedding jobs are in crypto, 'buy now pay later' fintech, and miscellaneous SaaS apps: they're unicorns in the purest sense, few ever turn a legitimate profit, and damn near all are reliant on IPO or being bought out down the line. As long as you're willing to do your research on companies and keep a decent portfolio of work you should have no issue landing a long-term position somewhere.

Well, that exactly happened though. The police in Chicago refused to police in some areas in 2020 and the Latino gangs had to take control to manage niggers which they did actually extraordinarily well. However, do you want to live under gang rule either?

I am not sure that there is 0% chance of SHTF with out current crop of complete incompetents in charge.

The last sentence of your post is exactly what I am afraid of more than anything - government confiscation of food and other goods. This has happened before in other countries to genocidal results. The US had gold confiscation and internment camps and anyone who says it will never happen again is high.

I thank God every day that I was born to a farming family. I've never even picked up the profession myself and have never done more than plant a seed bed, but it still staggers me how ignorant people are regarding food production.

Can you get into botanics/agriculture without a degree in it?

Go to an old bookstore and look for gardening/farming compendiums. You don't need the internet. Get physical material that teaches you this stuff. People have forgotten how informative and well-produced old how-to guides and trade-skill journals were.

Currently in the same position and am a little terrified reading through the thread.

Personally, I hold some level of optimism. Tech and really the internet is too ingrained in society to ever fully go away. We will likely see a change of powers though as your current tech giants start to fall, thus opening the door to newer faces. It might honestly be the kick in the ass the field needs as it is a skill based field, and honestly, most in it and going into it seem to coast and fill nothing roles in big tech. The best thing to do is really learn to code, and not in a bullshit CS-class form, but taking on languages and more advanced shit that school won't teach you. Personally, I am trying to go through PHP and database building as my college taught jack shit on the topic. Knowing more puts you ahead of most as many are in the belief that they can make six figures off basic bitch HTML that they likely stole from their classmates. They only know the most basic languages and usages, if that. Take solace in the fact that most of your competition is literally shitting out front pages with no interactivity, shit a high school student can do, just be a cut above them.

Basically, take some tutorials, learn some math, just do anything to put yourself above the rest. This industry is not going to fall, but will likely become an industry where floaters are not tolerated anymore.

Absolutely. I am a huge fan of having a physical library. Don't depend on the internet and having the knowledge at hand is a huge help.

While he's at it print off the foxfire series.

Government collapse and government confiscation can't both happen. A government that can't function is a government that can't collect taxes or other resources. A collapse scenario is what we saw in Libya. Blacks were reduced to chattel slavery, because it turns out that without the protection of a state run by more capable people, there's really nobody to stop anybody from enslaving them. Now, if instead of a collapse/SHTF, we get repressive totalitarianism, that's an entirely different story. The state becomes more powerful, not less, and we get Soviet America.

Can you get into botanics/agriculture without a degree in it? Too late to change majors for the umpteenth time but I'd like to keep my options open.

And what's a "laptop class member"?
Laptop class, also known as the "Email Caste", are your workers that are known for doing shit on a laptop and over email or zoom. Your wall street executives, your tech janitors, your code monkeys, your gender studies professors, etc.

Contrast this with your working class types -- farmers, truckers, firefighters, etc. These guys are sometimes called the Forgotten Caste, because the Email Caste takes them for granted and generally speaking, their political power is not only ignored, but actively suppressed.

The Email Caste thinks they rule the world, and have been pandered to by our leaders for the past oh, 40 years or so. They take the working class's support for granted and believe that the working class should have absolutely no political power. They absolutely shouldn't have any power if they disagree with the Email Caste. This has started to come to a head because Trump, for some clown world reason, represents the Working Class, and the Neo-Liberals/Neo-Conservatives (who are the same party under two names, also known as "the Uniparty") represent the Laptop Class. Yes, the liberals are against the working class in America now.

If the Laptop Class all did a walkout, universally across our society, and stopped working for the next 6 months, we'd be fine. Some shit would go missing, shit we might like, but we'd have food on our plates and our cities wouldn't burn down. If the working class walked off the job for 6 HOURS, we'd notice immediately and shit would hit the fan.

For a GREAT summary of this, and why "Lets go Brandon" scared the shit out of the left, this blog post remains prescient:

It describes the two castes pretty accurately in the frame of the 2020 election rigging being the left's Pearl Harbor moment. Except the left isn't the US in this analogy, the left is Japan. And that means they're screwed unless they can find a way out of this mess.

tl;dr: Japan used every bit of their power when attacking Pearl Harbor with the plan being that America would counterattack in a big decisive battle that favored Japan. Instead, America retreated inward, industrialized, and every day we didn't give Japan their big decisive battle, we got stronger, while Japan was literally tapped out.

The left used every bit of their power in 2020. They called in every favor, got every single industry they controlled 100% lockstep involved. There are no additional traditional media outlets they can make more lefty supportive. There are no corporations or big tech companies they can get make even more biased. The left is tapped out. The plan was that the right would be goaded into a stupid reaction to the rigging and then the left would be able to destroy their political power in a decisive motion for the next 30+ years -- long enough for the Great Reset and the indoctrination of American children to fundamentally trans-form (heh, giddit?) the US into something that China can dominate, and make it impossible for the Working Class and the Conservatives to ever recover.

This was January 6th. They had a bill filed in congress condemning the riots of Jan 6th... on Jan 5th. They had an ex FBI agent or some form of asset, Ray Epps, openly trying to push conservatives into breaking the law, up to and including organizing people destroying fences at the front of the protest, driving people into the riot. There was a BLM founder who brought a CNN freelance Antifa-affiliated journalist there to film him attempting to incite a riot -- the only one arrested for it, shortly after CNN had him on air to talk about how scary it was... and livestream test footage was found on his social media showing him and others preparing to show up as fake conservatives to incite violence. There were bombs planted, ultimately unused, at several DNC and GOP buildings. The emergency panic button was removed from one annoying retarded black woman's senate office, because they presumed Trump supporters would be a bunch of white supremacists who wouldn't hesitate to lynch a strong independent black wamyxn. (And she was annoying and useless and in a safe district, so she was the perfect sacrifice.)

The goal was to have the right do something so horrific, so unforgiveable, that the cucked members of the GOPe could help them destroy the populist movement in America forever. For the next 50-100 years every time Trump or the GOP would be mentioned, it would be in the context of "remember the January 6th insurrection, when the GOP blew up a few buildings and lynched Senator Batshit Crazy Bald Negress, Blessed be upon her memory?"

But it didn't happen because outside of a few idiots who went on an unapproved tour -- which might have been approved because whoops, the cops let them in -- there was no violent riot. The left didn't get their decisive moment. And the reaction ever since has been the left trying to pretend they did.

Meanwhile, the right has been busy doing shit like filling local election seats, actively organizing, taking out RINOs and making "safe" lefty seats unsafe. They didn't crawl into a hole and die like they were supposed to. The Laptop Caste is tapped out. They have no more power to turn on the rest of us. Meanwhile, the Working Class is just beginning to wake up and realize there's a problem. Child Drag Queens, anyone?

Considering how uncertainty and ruin seems to be around the corner, I think this is an excellent time to invest in long-term things. Skills, tools and something that is bound to pay off later. Like victory gardens and raising Guinea Pigs.

On the subject of food (considering the eat ze bugs goal of our elites), its important to remember that there are food recipes out there that are long lasting. Hard Tack crackers come to mind as those bastards can last a 100 years. On that note, pemmican.

There's alot of knowledge that isn't simply taught in schools because producers don't make very good consumers. And while its not a stated goal, society as it stands wants you to CONSOOM. They want to you dependent on the system, trust in it and never deviate. They want to shuffle you around in any direction for the rest of your life. Kind of like how prison works. But in prison, the inmate who has the knowledge and the know-how to get certain products, provide certain services, gets protected and favored by the other inmates (unless they're rivals). Something to take into consideration.

That is a great article.

To expand on the "left is tapped out thing"

Man, that applies on a lot of levels with the 'laptop caste'

Their homes in the cities are unsafe, they have only paper wealth that is evaporating rapidly. There have been tens of thousands of tech layoffs, surely prelude to a bigger movement. These folks have absolutely no skills--can't change a tire, can't change a faucet, can't cook a meal, can't even think outside the box if they were required to find a solution on their own to heating this winter and cooling off next summer. They have no diversified savings, no food in their house because everything is doordash, no protection from the dangers that lurk outside their doors...

These folks are FUCKED. THIS YEAR. And they're going to drag us all down with them.

Someone suggested this one, which honestly comes across as a tinfoil hat wearer's manifesto in some of the descriptions, but if the info is good, it's good.

Amusingly, this book is blacklisted from Amazon's browsing history. Wonder if I'll end up on a list if I buy it.

I already recommended it in one of these threads so lol. It is a really good. Regardless, my fingerprints are on file with many governments (the fun part of having PR in Canada and the EU and importing someone to the US), so whatever. Glowies know who I am regardless, why I don't give a fuck.

Sorry, was at work when I made the first post, and I wanted to expand.

Now, I am currently a college student like you and am in the process of picking up an internship myself, but there are some things I have noticed that may do you good in the field. I should also add that my father works in tech companies (mostly startups nowadays) as a marketing person, so I am going to use some information I gained from listening to him.

Here is the deal. According to my dad and the friends he has that run these companies, the industry is pretty open currently and still pays quite well. He was saying this pretty recently, so not many are scared off by the economy it seems. If it also helps, he has been working with a company interested in opening up web development and challenging Google. There does seem to be a competitive drive to take on the big dogs more so than I feel people on here will lead you to believe.

Going through school, it is fairly obvious that many up-and-coming devs are stupid as shit and/or up their own ass. I remember being in a class where we were doing basic C# and this kid on the verge of graduation was like WOWWY! This is so incredible! We were barely making shit in class. Hell, there was one guy that got by on just stealing other people’s shit. Most of my classmates were only ever in classes with the easy teacher, and they were all strictly programming, so they missed much of the extra shit. As for the ones that did take those classes, even if I can admit that they knew more in some areas, were also up their own ass and retarded in believing they were going to create massive sites with Java alone. It also doesn’t help that many are literally autistic or trannies.

I bring this up as you have two sides to the people that code: dipshits that just did it so they can sit on their ass and make six figures, or people who know how to code, but are insufferable to deal with. Taking in my dad’s experience, the best you could do is be in the middle. So many of these small tech start ups seem to fail due to company relationships moreso than the “just meant for buyout” that some claim. These companies are headed by an autistic neet, who then proceeeds to hire developers like him, and then the other departments. Things collapse as the marketers, who are tech illiterate for the most part, cannot gain any info about the product from the devs as either they are autistic, a neet who avoids people, or so far up their own ass that everyone works on their schedule. By the end, no one can sell the product or get shit done as their is little to no communication. In saying this, if you are a decent developer with good people skills, you are golden. I have heard my dad talk about raising developers up as they do both the development and the marketing.

So best advise, work on your coding, but also your people skills. If you can find a good in-between, then you are likely the most hire-able person in the coming years. The low skilled air breathers will probably get taken out hard if economic troubles persist, but after them, the pain in the ass devs would likely be next. Find a good middle, and make yourself a strong person both in your field and towards the others in your company. The easier you make other department’s jobs, the better.

Good lord, anyone reading this, please don't drop out of college or change majors because you're reading our autistic end-of-the-world screeds on an online cyberbullying forum.

Get a useful degree (not a degree in cybersexuality or whatever the fuck they offer these days), go to a cheap college, don't rack up debt to have a bunch of dudes blow loads in you for four years, and you'll be fine.
