Long as Dorian shows up I'm cool with it.

Seriously? Fuck that noise.

Give me Allister, Oghren, Morigan, Leliana, hell give me the Grey Wardens, where's my Grey Wardens.

Shit I even wouldn't mind Hawke, Isabela, Fenris and even Varric showing up in this.

Lets hope Vivian doesn't show up in this game but knowing Bioware they most likely have a diversity quota to meet.

I remember really liking Allister. Felt like he was my bro but then he got all mad at me when I made him to be king and was no longer my friend. In his defense Loghain was right, I was a blood mage looking to control him from the shadows, at least in the back of my head.

If anything Allister, Morrigan, Varric, and Isabella should show up. As for Cassandra and Leliana....ehh. We know Cullen isn't showing up.

That being said since Solas is the main villain this time (apparently) it'll be interesting to see how they handle the elves.

Badly. He will lose all nuance he had. But he will have all attention. Also, Qunari vs Imperium war will be a side note in general story. Like mages vs templars in fagquisition, but worse. Or Orleis' crown. Prepare for the shit and you won't be disappointed

Wasn't Elves in the series basically Fantasy Jews? Having their god want kill humanity for their goal is very close to being based. I have a feeling instead the Tevinter will be the main baddies since they are basically framed as "MAKE MAGICIANS GREAT AGAIN".

Oh yes. There are some Dragon Age spergs out there who got vewy vewy angwy that after spending two games deliberately patterning Thedas elves after medieval Jews -- right down to the segregated ghettoes in major cities -- it turned out that they (or rather their ancestors) brought every ounce of their misery on themselves. "NOOOO THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE OPPRESSED, NOT OPPRESSORS, REEEEE."

I have to wonder how many of those sorts are still in the fandom? Lots, probably.

I'd be amazed if there is still a fandom after nearly a decade of inactivity. Most of the people probably jumped to Game of Thrones a year after Inquisition.

Oh there's still a fandom. DA attracts queer autists like few other franchises. I only question whether it'll be large enough to sustain it as even a modest success. DA2 sounds like it came close to killing the franchise -- significant DLC was cancelled, although unlike Andromeda it actually did get some. BioWare apparently convinced EA that the shortened development time was the culprit, so they got three years for DAI ... and for all its issues it is an improvement over II, and it was a big enough hit to keep things going.

If they crap out a piece of woke trash after almost a decade? Whoof. I guess we'll see how it turns out.

Man, why do you guys want all those outdated npcs back? Unless I'm playing as the warden or the Inquisitor again, I'd rather all the other casts do something else.

Bring me closure from old plot threads, bring me back the Architect, and the Grey Wardens!

For those who want old characters back - better not. Because diversity hires in writer's department. It'll be as woke as you can imagine. But always worse

They could make a female quinari member...hell even some random person like an older Anora now all bitter and battle ready to betray you again. I always thought Evangeline the Templar could be good too. And that other witch of the wilds could appear.

The problem is that Bioware is way too woke now. 09 was fine because you want gay sex, it's optional. You want Leliana to be hardened thats optional. You want Wynne or Morrigan to leave (tho why would you) you can make them. You wanna marry Alistair and ruin Morrigan's ritual? Go ahead. Screw the dalish over? You can.

Now we're gonna be stuck with a non binary main character, a blonde troon party member, strang black wamen soldier, etc etc. They're way too sjw woke now. Krem was bad enough.

The funny thing is that as much as a faggot David Gaider is, Origins wasn't really pozzed. As the series goes on however, yes. More pozzed than a degenerate cumdumpster.

Solas was written well in Inquisition. Now the problem is that no matter what the game's gonna be woke trash. No matter how high our expectations are.

I found Solas' commentary on elves absolutely hilarious because it was something I never expected out of Bioware. His distaste for elven society and how they viewed their 'glorious past' is something I don't think they'll continue to push. Or if they do have him do that it will be because he's a super evil-evilpants instead of the tricky bastard he was in Inquisition.

Even if they DO make Solas well written you'll still have to slog through the knee deep muck of woke companions and stupidity all the way.

I thought Vivienne was cool, it was nice to have a party member who pointed out that the whole Chantry thing was kind of necessary and not just some ahahaha-let's-oppress-the-neurodivergent conspiracy.

EDIT: Someone in another thread predicted that Dorian is gonna fuck Krem (because he's a MAN, OBVIOUSLY), which would be hilarious.

Never was into DA and Tumblr made me be allergic to it, but I am 100% never over the fact that a writer obviously read Wheel Of Time, took bunch of terms and applied them to diffirent shit (there are other references maybe, wiki put me to sleep so could not confirm).

She's also one of the only ones who is totally right to distrust Solas. Her biggest problem is that she's underwritten (her personal story kind of comes out of nowhere, though there are hints her lover isn't in great shape if you pay attention to various ambient conversations at the Winter Palace). She's also characterized as such a petty, smug bitch that she really isn't a great advertisement for that view of the mage circles, no matter how right she might be.

Still miles better than Sera. Low bar, I know.

This is so retardedly woke that it's bound to be canon.

Fuck Dragon Age. Origin was really good, after that it's all faggot nonsense.
Origins has some bits and pieces of shitty writing and clunky mechanics, but all in all it's still very good, and amazing compared to the sequels.

I'd rather take the Origins cast exclusively over the shit from 2 and Inquisition, and especially whatever the pride parade freakshow's gonna be in 4.

Never read Wheel of Time but I'd be curious to hear what DA stole. It always felt more like Lord of the Rings mixed with Game of Thrones to me. Very unoriginal, but as a game it was enjoyable enough.

Unironically sounds amazing. Something like Tyranny but you're just a grunt caught in the middle going after Solas amidst a deadly conflict. Something like this could bring Bioware back I think, having an RPG like this is what people would crave.
Taking Dragon Age in the direction of Tyranny would make me interested again. That was one thing I noticed about DA2- unlike the previous game (or the Mass Effect games) bad stuff doesn't happen because it's a logical outcome of the situation, it happens because the plot railroads you into it, usually with no warning. Your mom getting targeted by a serial killer? Anders blowing up the Chantry? The head mage being a blood mage after all, proving the head templar completely right (only she's now a crazy bitch because of a red kryptonite lyrium statue)? All thing that would have been the result of your actions in previous games, but now you're a spectator in your own story. Instead of "dark fantasy," it's "heroic fantasy but we make random bad shit happen every so often because that's the same thing as being dark amirite?" Going Tyranny (or even better, Grim Dawn) so you don't have to worry about the "correct" choice or backing the "right" side would be a callback to the days when you could spend an entire game working for the Space-Klan because they were the only ones taking the killbot problem seriously.

The Fade is just the Warp with enough paint to not get sued. I'm pretty sure that almost everything that didn't come from WoT came from Warhammer.

DA in its entirety is just derivative of other works. As you mentioned there's a good amount of Warhammer influence (mages being demon beacons is a big one and dwarven society), lord of the rings (movies natch), WoT, and of course later on soaking in some GoT too because that was the new hotness at the time.

Nothing wrong with having derivative ideas if you do it well and for some of it they did decently enough. Of course that doesn't stop the Bioware fans from thinking they did it first and 'better'.
