It's especially stupid considering he literally curated his child fans into being loyal stans. He basically watched every YouTuber curate the exact same audience, watched them run into the exact same problem whenever they try and mobilise their fans to do anything and thought "nah that won't happen to me"

Bit late, but Lost's ending wasn't implying that they died in the crash, just that the sort of alternate universe sequences of season 6 took place in the afterlife once they all died, whether naturally or unnaturally.

Considering that Rise of Skywalker resorted to bringing Palpatine back 30 years later in the story and after Dark Empire had become a laughingstock of the Legends continuity, I would say you're probably right. If they really were going the “Snoke is Plagueis” route, then that was so fucking stupid that we deserved Dark Empire 2.0

If TFA basically included all its answers within it (ironically being an anti "mystery box"), TLJ went full scorched earth with the franchise. A good director would have used this chance to divorce the franchise from the Skywalkers and even go with new directions (politics, far future..). Instead we got the billion dollar version of a nerd going "NO YOU'RE RUINING IT" and writing the one of the worst fan fic ever.

I would've liked the Yuzhan Vong to make an appearance but no, we got the Original Trilogy but with nothing that made the Original Trilogy good plus shitty politics thrown into the mix. I unironically appreciate the Prequel Trilogy more thanks to the Sequel Trilogy.

Trevorov's version would have been better because
1. It had some actually cool sequences
2. It fucked with who was Palpatine's master. Laughs would have been had.

Yeah they are making a tv series out of it. Was announced in like 2020 but got delayed (probably due to covid). It recently got reconfirmed/reannounced, and the original teaser was taken down.

New teaser here for those curious, comes out in this September.
