But Marine is a hag and Choco is too. I don't think I have seen Botan talk about anything remotely sexual or even joke about it now you mention it, and at this point it would seem totally out of character if she did.
In defense of Calli she outright stated shes attracted to short guys, so the bi/lesbian stuff is kinda dead with her. Pekora is another non-hag who shuns the yuri/sexual stuff, and Suisei only ever expressed an interest in boys afaik, but she did joke about Aqua being her wife or something but aside from that I don't see yuri-bait.

When I type it all out it seems even weirder that girls still push the yuri stuff given other girls totally avoid sex, are openly heterosexual and they still do fine with their fans. Oh and Towa filtered her fans by having a BF, again she's fine.

Sleeping naked isn't crazy, it's great. I fully recommend it for maximum comfort.

A lot of the girls do move away from the UwU lesbian shit after debut to be fair but it's so common at debut. AmexGura, CallixKiara in just Myth alone. KroniixMumei in Council and BaexIrys as well. They all start off doing it and some keep it going. It's just such low effort fanbase building because the best way to draw in desperate Vtuber fans is to tease you like fucking anime girls too. Kiara jumped from anime waifu to anime waifu for awhile but apparently has calmed down with it now that she's established and popular enough.

Yeah, the only time I ever saw Botan do something where I was like "Okay, this is 'for the fans'" is when she did her 3D debut and she did a section of her stepping on the viewer but that's the only point that sticks out to me. Suisei I don't remember doing anything sexual at all but she's never really been a sexual character to me based on how she plays herself. She plays more into the suicopath stuff than any kind of gf experience stuff (excluding "Hey Honey" being a meme but that's about it). I've seen a lot of people suddenly shipping her with Miko though and I'm not sure why because I don't watch Miko's content.

I think it's just playing safe at the start of your career. Girls want to build a loyal fanbase so it's easier to pretend you and one of the other girls in your gen are super lesbians (Botan even did this with Lamy at the start). It avoids something like an Aloe situation happening, where if you are too new and it's revealed you've a BF and are a weirdo, you'll be torn to shreds by the audience and disregarded. Rushia for example was shit on by lots of people when it was leaked she had a bf... but at the same time, as Mikeneko she has a ridiculously devoted fanbase still so it feels like it didn't even hit her too hard fanbase wise because she was already so well established.

I was curious about this myself. I tried watching her stream and some clips, and maybe I got some bad ones but I didn't really get it apart from there aren't many v-tubers really doing the "Oh hohoho" rich girl laughing with ringlets thing. Just didn't seem anything overly special about her, especially for the numbers when the rest of Niji isn't doing even close to that well.

I assumed she was just an already well known V-tuber or something like that just recently moved to work for Niji and carried across her old audience. I'm not well versed on "roommates" so I guessed I didn't know who she secretly was and moved on lol

I promise you that I don't mean this in a condescending way, but if you don't know Japanese then a lot of her charm is either entirely lost on you or is diluted in translation. All people need to discern a good voice is pitch and tone and their opinions on that, but discerning humour and likeability does demand understanding of the language.

Not to say clip-watchers can't enjoy her or anything gatekeep-y and retarded like that, of course, as I do think some clippers do a good job of pinning down her style. My report on why I think she's as popular as she is has been documented here and you're more than free to find it.

The rest of the entire industry isn't doing even close to that well. She's anomalous. She had 42K people sit and watch her review a 6 year old game yesterday, and nearly broke 100K viewers for her RE7 finale which just does not happen.

Today she had 80K while playing a forgotten PS2 game whilst Kuzuha (23K), Vox (22K), Mysta (11K), Kanae (9K), and Yashiro (7K) were all streaming at the same time (and Sasaki (12K) had just finished). This is to say nothing of all the other members who were pulling perfectly healthy numbers like Fuwa, Himawari, Ike, Marin, Millie, and Rosemi at the same time.

Nijisanji are doing just fine. Don't let anomalies skew your perception of the norm.
