On May 2, 2022, both sides filed a blanket consent to all the amici, so everything appears on the up and up. I also have to commend the formatting, although I've been reading the opening brief of the petitioner first. I think the Second Circuit done a fucky-wucky.

Anyway, by just being formatted properly and obeying the rules, it wins the first part of "good amicus brief" in that it doesn't actually harm the court itself just by inflicting ugliness on it. If the Second Circuit is right, it could all but outlaw fanfic, so as autistic as amici may be, they have a tangible interest in the outcome of the case.
