I was talking to a friend in the military about a video showing DPR conscripts using unencrypted civilian Baofengs a while ago, and his reaction was (paraphrasing) "those guys have better comms equipment than us". It was a bit of a culture shock moment for me when he added that there are some pieces of equipment where he recommends buying a used civilian equivalent because it's better than what the Army has.
But those $15000 hammers really work.

Funny tidbit about the hammers.

They were $150 hammers that everyone was all "Oh, I can go get a $5 hammer at K-Mart!"

I wanted to slap every retard who said that shit.

The $150 hammers were specialized.

No spark, no magnetic field, (sometimes no electricity conduction)rubber handled hammers.

Even without the ones that didn't worry about electrical current, they were still non-magnetic and no-spark.

Know why?

Because you needed them to work around ammunition and fuel.

So of course, because you had all the late night funnymen thinking they knew what they were fucking talking about, blathering on about it, in the budget the next year, they specificially nixed the hammers.

Meaning Ordnance and Maintenance Corps got to use fun sparking hammers and magnetic hammers. Which, of course, killed mothefuckers and destroyed millions of dollars in equipment.

But hey, late night funnyman got to make jokes and granola eating hippies who don't know their crusty unwashed assholes from holes in the ground got to whine, so, the winner is the American taxpayer.

Who only had replace millions of dollars in equipment that a $150 piece of safety equipment could have saved.

Faggots.

It's like the space pen. Retards screech that we spent millions making the space pen, but the Russians just used pencils.
Pencils which make dust when you use them that happens to be conductive and never falls to the ground because space.

Fuck. It's definitely election season in AZ. This on my doorstep. Interestingly crafted looking at the front page, but flip it over, BAM!

On Edit: this arrived today, too. I scanned the fucking QR code and signed up. Can do it and get paid to do it as my company pays 2 days of community service. One might argue it's not community service. Fuck that, seriously. If we abandon fair and open elections, well...

Don't wanna go there.

And here I thought it was so they could hide the funding for reverse-engineering alien spacecraft at Area 51.

Off topic, but this news was interesting to me:

I was going to put this in the Interesting news and articles thread, but this one point stuck out to me:

The Post wrote that the Democrat lawmaker had potentially misused the proxy voting capability in the House, which was first enacted by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) so members with coronavirus or exposure could still participate. He reportedly used it on 17 pieces of legislation between July 19 and July 27 last year during his time in France, as revealed by Instagram posts and online records.

A series of social media posts showed Jones or tagged him with a group including multiple entertainment industry people who traveled to Paris, Beaune, Bordeaux, and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, according to the report. But, while Jones’s campaign spokesperson confirmed he was in France to attend the wedding, he also said the lawmaker did not travel to Bordeaux, Versailles, or Beaune.

Do politicians really still enact laws while still not bothering to read or understand what they’re signing for?

Maybe this is why the middle class and small-owned businesses were still struggling. We have upper class elite members seriously believing that the policies and laws do not apply to them since they have the right personal politics.

Of course, not anything new, but it’s still bizarre how most fall for this. Yet, the constituents are really the ones who suffer at the end for this. They continue to vote for these people that continue the “Do As I Say, Not As I Do” mantra.

Is that your woman next to you?

Balls-to-the-wall incompetence.
I don't like feedlots as a concept, but I wouldn't go nearly that far. Heat and humidity doesn't kill cattle. Rapid changes in heat and humidity will drop them like flies. Friend from the around Dodge said they had a thunderstorm fall apart cause a huge spike of humidity in a localized area. 95° with a 80°+ dewpoint(heat index of 115°) at dusk in area that normally sees dew points in the 60s. This would normally kill some cattle in that area. A bunch of steers that spent 6 weeks of unseasonably spring-like weather* getting fat? They wind up stacked like cordwood.

*Yes, I'm aware summer doesn't start for another week, tell that to Kansas weather.

dude that's everybody this year, Central Florida is looking at the first 99 of the year on Saturday
FJB/LGB even got inflation on the air
AFAIK, The entire northern plains was the opposite this year. Way cooler than normal. Parts of Kansas didn't hit 80° in May, Montana and South Dakota had a blizzard.

When I lived in Kansas the joke was 2 seasons summer and winter and 2 weeks of nice weather in-between.

weird
that was always the good cope in the south, was that northern territory still got balls-ass hot similarly in the summer but then they got snowed in, too

I don't know if I should post it here or in the Roe vs Wade/abortion threads but Biden goes much further in craziness if Roe vs Wade is overturned.
I'll never stop being I'm awe of how much political power Democrats will gladly abuse for their agendqs, but then Republicans do nothing. Republicans can't even protect the border or prevent LGBT from abusing children openly.

Normally, yes. It's been a weird year for weather, starting all the way back in October with the late season tornadoes in Illinois, Indiana Kentucky.

The way I hear it, your average /k/ommando's LARPerator gear is in better shape than most of what the military has.
My understanding, based on my rather limited questions to former servicemen in the family and Zach from mikeburnfire’s stories as a small arms tech in the army, is that they don’t really have the people most of the time maintain this shit, and pinhead superiors will do utterly deranged shit like take the cabinets full of various little delicate, carefully collated parts out of their shop because they’d be better use having giant ass humvee parts jammed in them.

Look up his stories on that channel btw. The gun rant videos kinda drag on, but most of the other ones are gold.

Oh, being an armorer is a special hell, even if you aren't one of the "scrape the bluing off" retards.

You can't get new parts for the fifty, but supply can get the XO a laptop.

What the fuck is a laptop, your 1989 ass asks.

"It's a little computer."
>What the fuck does that inbred wagon burning bastard need a computer for.
"He's an officer."
>What about the parts for the fifties and sixties?
"He needs the laptop."

Fuck this, I quit.
