General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Now it's probably full of people who want to post shit that they know for a fact wouldn't fly here.
But 200 people though??? Do we have that many people posting and viewing the thread, while on top of that 200 going out of their way to join a discord for it?

I just don't feel that we got many people who care for vtuber stuff here.

A month ago I posted a poll here and it ended up having 300 votes after a day, there's hundreds people that really hate the idea of posting in the thread but follow it religiously

And the yabs don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming

Holy fuck, are both of these from a single day? At this point you really can't help but feel bad for her. The Nipple Crusader got out of his pirating issue relatively unharmed, but he was still out of commission for over a month. What the fuck is going on today? As far as what will happen to her, who knows? In Lauren's case, it might've helped that he straight up came up to the publisher about it, and it was the porn industry. The music industry is known for being ruthless, so Pomu might possibly be in a situation even worse than Lauren was.

I definitely could sorta see it. Like Null said, it's the one place that doesn't ban dox discussion compared to both sides of the autism spectrum (Reddit, /vt/). You do also see stickers from people with zero Kiwi karma every once in a while.

Clip of Null's segments talking about the thread earlier on MATI.

Sounds like my grandfather trying to explain to my grandmother (chat) what "Anime" is.

Aside from that - has dear leader ever said why he feels like that about anime stuff? Aside from the some horrible community/weeb degenerate examples. (just curious)
Probably got touched by a 3000-year-old anime vampire.

What the fuck? we have a discord? since when?! and how the fuck are there 200 people in it?!?
I guess it's just a way for people to have a sort of backup in case dumb shit goes down and this shit gets yeeted off the platform. Imagine having to post anything vtuber-related on Reddit.

Yeah usually we have around 60-75 people actively posting on the thread with about 100 other members that lurk and bitch and moan about this thread yet somehow can't seem to avoid reading it religiously and about another 150-200 other random people that come from other boards to lurk around or somehow searched Vtuber shit on Google and got this thread as the top search.

Source: I made it the fuck up (going by some of the youtube traffic I got from some videos that have been posted here).

All the more reason to gatekeep registration. Can't keep it closed forever, but the fewer who can hop in and sperg out, the better.

FFS, @Undercover Commissioner already went over a thorough explanation:
Let the newfag enlighten you.

This was made after @moments fade pain remains saved the thread. Note the link is dead, and all discord invites on 9chan are dead aswell. I don't have one either.
The subject is (to my knowledge) not mentioned again for 2000 pages. Until page 3234

Note the lack of mockery that follows, it is simply discussed as a backup.
It is later mentioned again after 2000 pages

Edit mb it was mentioned on page 2017- sorry i dont know how to edit in quotes

King Coofer started a discord, VToiletHumor, waaay back when Josh was kinda dooming about shutting down the site after 9chan. It was pretty dead until The Gulagging/The Joshening when the Dark Eye first cast its baleful gaze on our humble thread and there was a huge influx of butthurt fags like myself. During the recent The DDOSening, someone who's been accused of being Stenogopher started Kiwi-tual Vtubers, but most of the members are also in VToilet, so it doesn't see a lot of action unless people want to bitch about Alte cause he's not there.
PAY ATTENTION!

I don't know why some of ya'll are fixated on that particular point. Maybe that's the whole point or the end-goal of this gay-op or whatever this is.

The question is how, what, and why was this all revealed just now? Why did it have to be today? Why not all the way back then when she was still Maid Mint? Do the voices match? Did Pomu give out any particular clue or hint about what she did way before she started Vtubing? Is there a story we don't know behind why Pomu and Kiara seems to click well together? Are there any links that we can trace? Breadcrumbs that we can follow?

I know ridiculing people is par for the course around here. But it feels like we're missing something. We're missing one important aspect to this thread.

I..would assume because of her mentioning recently what she cosplayed as way back, which opened the floodgates. It's not some deep op, she just gave a crumb that finally led to the cake. As Mint she barely even wanted to give so much as crumbs.
He finally found her after all these years, his promised duty finished.

Also god damnit Pomu, nudes? Just women things.

That turned out to be false.
Not exactly, if I understood it correctly.

Niji ordered some Chinese "catalog" designs that had earlier been used by [designer brand], a name famous enough for people to recognize the things and consider them [brand's]. What [brand] did was actually wrong (de facto misrepresenting themselves as designers of the Chinese-factory-designed things), and what Niji did was fine (except maybe as an obscure matter of Japanese manners).

They ate shit about it unnecessarily, probably.

Wasn't that a different incident? I was thinking of the one where they were accused of plagiarism for artwork of dudes sitting on chairs, which didn't lead to much.

I'm not going to humour this as a major argument. The last two pages have been random potshots at Niji but me correcting it is somehow MATI. After Null shows up twice in as many days I want to limit my responses here to only stuff that furthers discussion, however it's really bothersome that shitting on Niji/other companies is always whitelisted without friction, while questioning that is perceived as tribalism.

I don't deny that these people exist. You talk about it as if it's endemic but it's really not. It's not elitist to tell people that you aren't supposed to keep up to date with every single Niji member. Nothing else to it.

No, you said that saying it doesn't invalidate the feelings of people who want to get into Nijisanji 'as a whole' (I presume by watching all 150+ of them). I said that their feelings are nobody's problem but their own because that's not how the company wants you to consume the product.

In this regard, there's a reason why most would-be Nijisanji fans just turned to supporting indies and small corpos.

This is a statement of fact. You stated that would-be Nijisanji fans are definitely going elsewhere, and that they're in the majority.

You're not really saying anything, is the thing. People feeling obligated to correct perception on how Nijisanji is intended to be approached isn't tribalistic or elitist. People coming to the conclusion that they prefer Hololive, Indies, or other startups isn't indicative of a failing within Nijisanji.

The only thing I agree with is the Luxiem ass-licking but that was tethered on to the very end and is a totally separate discussion that's already been had.

On the surface, too, this is a perfectly reasonable trend of causation. 'I cannot catch up, and therefore I will not bother'. There are people like this and that's perfectly fine.

But it largely doesn't pan out that way in practice. Ethyria was released as the run of the litter: they stretched the existing fanbase thin, and came at a point where people were waiting for the men. Enna's first stream series of 'Lucius'(?) Struggled to break even 800 live viewers, and now she is the highest-watched and fastest-growing woman in the company behind Salome. Nina is the most-subscribed woman in NijiEN. Millie's covers are breaking 1m viewers. All of NijiEN are having their best months ever recently.

People want to feign concern about Niji's operations filtering too many people but all of the NijiEN girls are averaging 1K subs/day MINIMUM and have been doing so for months — even Nina who has been hamming it up in Paris before dying to COVID these last 6 weeks. The reality is that if people want to give a V-Tuber a chance, they'll give a V-Tuber that chance.
TBH you just need to learn to avoid blatant Holofag bait. I used to pay too much attention to it as well. A year ago they could mostly just ignore Nijisanji because frankly they had no real foothold in the EN mindset. Due to Luxiem and Salome these people now are just gonna post about Niji constantly. It might be because I do spend time on /vt/, but the patterns of bait and coping became very apparent. Move on and they'll go back to arguing that Gura isn't a loli or something.

You're correct. The accusation of plagiarism from the artist who did the Luxiem 6-month Anniversary was proven false.

This is separate to the accusation of plagiarism from the store proper which, whilst never 'proven', they did take precautions and pull the plug.

Lmao all of that torrenting buisiness literally only got 100% found out with no speculation because she used the same username on all sites (even if she didnt go on to become a corpo chuuba, if she had gigs for con shilling as a cosplayer then its probably not a good look either)

Opsec 101 should be never using something that even could be vaugely tied to ya on any sites that have copyrighted shit
