One thought I just had is that intragovernment communication is less-than-perfect to put things mildly. So while the state department knows there were no deaths in Japan couldn't the citogenesis on Wiki and all the other news prove to be a huge problem for Byuu? If say the SSA or a credit reporting agency decides to phone it in and mark him as actually dead it could turn into a self-reinforcing nightmare. I don’t really know how suing people works but would it be possible for Null to sue Near anyway despite not knowing his whereabouts? You at least know his identity and people have been able to file lawsuits again “John Doe” before. Would the courts attempt to contact him at his last known address?
