Is it just me, or is America going through a Weimar phase?

It's difficult to draw comparisons like this when so many factors are not the same. History rhymes, not repeats. We have ways to go before we hit a crisis like that in the Weimar Republic but there are no signs of anyone effectively dealing with the issues at hand, only more and more people fanning the flames from all sides. The historical events we're going through are unique due to the omnipotent presence of technology and interconnectivity. Our technological world tends to move very quickly and the implications of all of the information we have and the increasing frequency at which people question the information they're given has its own consequences that we cannot predict.

lmfao intellects my ass
Wow /pol/ somehow became less shit since since I gave up on it.

On topic, yeah there is overlap with Weimar. We're getting absurdly decadent and the economy isn't gonna get better. We're not gonna get a Hitler by the end of this bad time though, if there is an end.

Because gas prices going up is literally wheel barrels of Reichsmarks, also lmfao if you think the decadence was anything but a small turd sitting next to a literal burning dumpster.

Wiemar Germany had the bitter taste of not only the defeat of the first world war but Germany losing it's status as a growing world power and it's own independent sphere and becoming more dependent on America.
Germany was also forced to give up lands to the poles, Belgians, french, and Danes. As well as being denied a Anschluss with Austria in 1919.
In spite of Afghanistan, America still hasn't received a military loss comparable to loosing the first world war.
Don't forget that Troons were invented in the Wiemar republic while in America is now experiencing the normalization of Troon ideology.

Well it might not be a military loss, but the average American still sees their country humiliated on a daily basis. And that's where the commonality lies. Don't take your beating and suck the big black girldick and say you like it? No more sheckels or participation in society for you. Basic freedoms, traditions, and cultural touchstones we held dear are under constant assault by the (((powers that be))). "Hur dur you have freedom of speech but not freedom from da consequences!" as fat leftists love to proclaim, and everyone nods along like clapping seals.

I used to roll my eyes a little at everyone drawing the Weimar comparison... its the comparison definitely there. Is everything exactly the same? Of course not.

We're not at that point. Yet. What if the Petrodollar becomes the Petro-Yuan?
Never going to happen. The dollar and euro are the two most used currencies around the world. 90% of all transactions that happen globally are done in dollars and euros. 3% of that remaining 10% is Yuan. The Chinese economy is probably going to collapse soon anyway. No one is going to start using the Yuan for anything.
You optimistic whitepill niggas talk like "just" inflation is okay. Two thirds of the population lives paycheck to paycheck already, which is probably a lot more than back then.* All it would take is even just, say, a 50% increase in prices over a year to wreck it all.

*I say that because I've seen data on Irish immigrants in 1800s NYC where they were saving way more than modern Americans, and that was an especially bad situation. Modern people might spend a much bigger chunk of their paycheck because of their social safety net and/or more variety of things to buy.
Doesn't matter. We still aren't seeing Weimar levels of inflation. People have always lived paycheck to paycheck. Americans have been dealing with inflation for a long time now and no one starving to death or using bricks of dollars to heat their homes. I suggest you should stop listening to the Boomer doom splainers.

There is the looming famine as well thanks to oddly convenient deaths of cattle and destruction of food processor plants. Considering that WEF stooges just want to recreate the Soviet Union Electric Boogaloo edition, the US is going through a combination of Weimar and pre USSR Russia or to be specific, Bolsheviks rise to power and their subsequent fuckery of the country that ended in alot of deaths. It is true that its not happening step-by-step. We're getting someone's cliffnotes of it at least.

But make no mistake. There is a huge powderkeg of resentment from all sides sitting in the US and once that ignites, things will turn very ugly.

It usually doesn’t go up this fast or this high, motherfucker.

Again, it doesn't matter.

This is what hyperinflation actually is. hyperinflation is rapidly rising inflation, typically measuring more than 50% per month.

Are we seeing inflation going up by more than 50%? every month? No, we are not. So, we are not experiencing hyperinflation. We are not in a Weimar style situation.

We are experiencing the usual inflation you would see in an inflationary economy. Also, some of the price increases are probably caused by other issues than excess printing of a currency which is usually what causes inflation.

Happy murder rape day is not coming faggots. Also whites are being replaced by Hispanics, and that's good because they're absolutely patriotic angels in my experience and don't sperg about this crap like you. (also 13%+ swing to R in some polls, GODDAMN)

Thank you for being a voice of reason. As another person I was talking to said, doing a 2 year average for inflation paints a very different picture.

People are also far less self sufficient now than they were then. A drop in living standards is going to feel bad for the average urbanite.
During WW2, pretty much everyone who could grew food. Now the urban populations are huge and have almost zero space to grow anything - even a city terrace back yard would have been able to contain a few chickens and a veg patch, now we have high rises. People used to make do and mend - almost every woman could sew, knit, mend. Almost everyone was used to hand me downs, etc. but the culture of thriftiness is niche now. People are largely helpless and rely totally on a complex network that is teetering. The rural areas will be Ok. The cities will be hell within days in any kind of serious collapse
